Two Requests

For the next step of my plan, actually the most difficult of all steps, I had to meet Hecate. I prepared myself for the next move.

I went to the house of Hecate and opened the door. Hecate was not there. The room was silent.

"Hecate?" I said, my voice echoed in the deadly still room. I got the feeling no one was there. So, I turned to go back and just then a voice called me.

"What's the matter, dear?" I turned and Hecate was standing in front of me, she had appeared out of nowhere but I was no more surprised with these things. I had now accepted my reality and the reality of my life.

"Umm... Hecate, I have a request. Actually two." I feebly said because I knew what I was going to ask for, wasn't anything small.

"Go on, I'm listening." she said and moved towards me.

"Don't you always read my mind? So, you must know what I am here for." I said and she smiled.

"Yes, I do. But your first request is dangerous and you know this too." she said and then looked intently at me as if judging I was worthy of her affirmation or not.

"I know it's dangerous but I promise you, I won't let anything bad happen." I promised and I meant every single word.

But Hecate looked at me like she wasn't satisfied with my answer at all.

"Tell me, why do you want to take such risk. Is it worth it?" she asked.

Her words replayed in my mind, 'Is it worth it?' I asked myself and every single cell in my body answered the same thing. 'YES! If it was for Isabella. Yes, if it was for her happiness. Yes, it was worth it.' I thought but didn't say it. After all, what was the point of saying it aloud. She would know it anyway.

"So, you are not going to change your decision?" Hecate asked and I nodded without a second's delay.

"Okay then. I guess Isabella would also like it. It's been years, after all." she said and I smiled in delight.

"Umm... and what about my other request?" I asked.

"Oh, don't worry about that. It will hardly take an hour for you."

"AN HOUR! But I don't have that much time. I still have to make many arrangements and... "

"Adrian, stop complaining. The spell which you are asking for takes several days to learn for a sendate. You are a half-blood so you can learn it faster. Now stop complaining and come over here." she said with an authoritative voice and I couldn't help but do as she asked.

Finally, I was able to come out of the house after two hours. I was surprised that it was already evening. Hecate was surprised with my progress, considering that this was my first time learning a spell.

I didn't tell her about the spell which Isabella had taught me to access her hideout. I thought if Isabella had trusted me with her secret so, I should honor it.

When I was standing outside the house at Hecate, I saw Isabella rushing to me. She stopped just in front of me.

"Where were you since afternoon?" she asked and I hesitated for a moment. How should I answer her? I didn't want to lie to her.

"Umm... I was a little busy." I said and her eyes narrowed.

"Busy? What were you busy with?" She asked with a suspicious tone. And for a second, I thought that I was exposed. Fortunately, Carl came to my rescue.

"Isabella, two of the boys have started a fight. Please come to stop them." he seemed worried. The fight must have been big.

"Yes, Isabella. You should go. I will meet you later." I said and she frowned at me.

"Okay." she said finally and left with Carl. Carl smiled at me before leaving.

Then I headed towards the stable of pegasi. I needed a pegasus for the execution of my plan.

But I doubted that it would be easy to learn to ride a pegasus in less than one day. Still, I had to try.
