Chapter 2: Enchanted

"Human possessing elemental magic was later on called fairies. According to history books... blah blah blah." The teacher's voice slowly muted in her mind.

'It's too boring!' Thana thought, while she let out a deep sigh!

Thana is a sixteen year old girl with a strange but strong personality. Plum-coloured hair, deep blue eyes, and cold white skin; she looks friendly but in reality, not really!

Thana was calmly seated at the end left corner of her classroom... Uninterested about what was going on in her class, she rested her head on her palm. Her head turned towards the window, just then... her eyes was captured by the beauty outside! Her eyes are glued at the picture of the exquisite orange setting sun!

At this very moment, her whole world just... stopped!

'How I wish I can be as warm as him,' she thought.

"Boo!" Out of nowhere, a red head guy hanging upside down outside the window popped up in front of her eyes! It's her brother, Theo.

'He probably begged the cloud guy again to pull up that trick! What a pain! He ruined the view!' Thana glared at him with that thought in her mind!

Thana's right palm slowly opened, realeasing an ice magic! Sharp and pointy snowflakes started to float above her palm! Her forehead creased, her glare felt like icy spikes striking through him!

Theo's pupils dilated! He immediately showed both of his hand in surrender to avoid the upcoming snow storm! He threw his body in through the window, "Hey, you're really amazing, you know? The class ended half an hour ago, but you're still staring at who knows what, like it's just a minute... It's weird that you don't even notice!"

Thana quickly glanced around her, the fact that he is right annoyed her! "Shut it, or I'll freeze you!"

Theo stubbornly continued to talk rubbish about how she unconsciously go blank all the time!

She glued her eyes on him intently, but his mouth did not stop blabbering! "Shut up or I'm going to freeze that lizard on your shoulder!"

Both of their eyes turned to the direction of the palm-sized little dragon resting on Theo's right shoulder! Automatically, his mouth zipped, and seriousness nested in his eyes.

"It's not funny, isn't it?" Her lips smirked, and cooly flashed herself out through the window! She landed on the ground with an angry look on her face. She marched away from her brother and headed to anywhere but around him!

'Dang it, I did it again!' Theo frustratedly grunted! He sighed and sulked, "I shouldn't have surrendered that fast, but she was the serious type. I don't wanna die!" He disappointedly sighed as he pouted his lips thinking more ways to annoy her.

Theo stayed there for minutes without moving. His red round eyes started to fire up, droplets of water started to drip on the side of his face! He gritted his teeth, and clenched his fists! Distraught by his sister's actions, he turned around, and took heavy steps out of the empty classroom. "Tsk, as if being with me would kill her!" He knew fire is no good around fairies with ice magic, but she acted like he was a nobody, and that hurts so bad! "All I wanted was to get close to her!"

Thana felt the rough texture of the tree on her back as she hid behind it. She silently minimized her movements while observing her target's every move. She intently scanned the mysterious water horse galloping around the enchanted lake!

It jumped, danced, played, and became one with the water as it dove in the lake! It was amazing!

Thana smiled intrigued, she took light steps, carefully trying to get closer and closer!

~Crackkk!~

She gritted her teeth and clenched her first in surprise! Her body stiffen! She cautiously lifted her foot on the twig she stepped on. She tried to breathe slowly as possible, her heart was racing! Her heart began to beat even faster, like it was going to explode! She tried to stood boldly in front of the water horse! She looked at it, and it stared at her!

Curious, it nodded its head and scanned her! It slowly moved, taking caution on its every step around Thana, but still maintaining distance.

She lifted her arms, and attempted to touch it, but it neighed!

She caused it to panic!

It reared up!

With both raised arms in front of her head, it's her only defence against it! If she will use her magic, she will froze the water horse, and she won't be able to make it imprint on her!

'Crap! It hurts! It so freaking hurts!'

Thana's arm aches, she can't move her leg properly! She felt the pain all over her body! She was trampled! She felt like being smashed by a big hammer!

It's almost dark and she needed to get out of the forest quickly! Her wounds sting and her bruises painfully tingles, she is wet, weak, and needed to be home! She breathed heavily, she gathered her remaining strength to stand up! Her hand circled in a swirling motion and made a thin piece of ice! She sat down, and managed to lift up the thin ice platform. Her vision became blurry, and she felt drowsy, but her house is in sight! With that, she felt great desperation in her bones!

"I need to go... home! A little- a little... m-more!"

A strange, surprising, super loud "Thuuudd!" was heard!

The platform lost its shape, before she was able to reach the door! Her body was thrown onto the ground, and helplessly rolled!

Theo from inside the house had an eye to eye contact with his mother. He turned his head around to the window, and let out a complex face. What could be that sound?

"I'm going to check it out, I need some air and blow some steam anyway." He cooly stood up, tucked his hands on his pocket and walked right out the door. He scanned the place from left to right, it's quite dark, and can't barely see anything! He turned around to head back inside, but something caught his eyes, he stopped!

He glanced at his right and saw broken pieces of ice scattered over the ground! It looked like glass at first glance, but slowly it melted and turn into nothing but wet liquid!

His eyes grew bigger, and he felt the rush to find his sister! He ran down the few-stepped stairs and followed the scattered pieces of ice! His hand trembled, his arms felt like it's locked in place, and he can't move! "Whatever! It would probably hurt, but touching won't kill her!"

He dashed to her, grabbed, and carried her onto his arms! He rushed his way inside the house and looked for her mom. "Mom! Something happened to Thana!"

Theo's skin in contact with her skin created a steamy fog around them. With the adrenaline he felt, his fire magic felt stronger! Their mother, for a second was shocked!

Mrs. Blake quickly told Theo to put his sister down! He quickly tossed Thana on the couch making her mother hit him in his shoulder! "Careful!"

"Mom! You startled me!" Mrs. Blake hurriedly grabbed her phone and nervously dialled a number! She was still uneasily walking back and forth in their living room. A knock on the door made her stop and sigh in relief.

A lady in a white coat walked into the door, and stared at the weak and unconscious girl. She curved her lips and smiled, "She's going to be fine."

"Are you sure? Look at her! It's like... she came back from a war!" Frustrated, Theo can't help but yell at her! "Sorry," he whispered.

Scrapes and bruises are obviously tattooed in her body, she's unconscious and excessively sweating! Plus, dirts are stained on her white blouse, and also smudges on other parts of her skin!

The pretty, blonde hair healer smiled once again and repaeated, "She's fine." She stepped closer to Theo, and pushed him back away from Thana. "Relax, try that. If not, you're continuously going to melt her, I mean affect her. Uh, and maybe she just faced a big challenge today." The lady took a glance at her and had a hint of disappointment.

"Challenged? Do you mean she happened to encounter a battlefield on the way home?"

"Sarcasm, I like that! Oh, by the way, nice dragon you got there!" She turned her head to Mrs. Blake, "She only needs to rest, preferably away from heat, and I'll help her get the wounds and bruises heal. She'll be okay after 2-3 days."

The lady put down his black bag on the floor and raised her hands above Thana. She carefully touched her skin, she closed up the wounds and made the bruises disappeared!

Looking at Thana, she bacame more comfortable, it looked like she was just sleeping...

The lady put her hand inside her bag, and brought out a small blue dust-like magic inside a mini bottle. "Let her take this, it will boost her energy, and about your boy, tell him to avoid being angry. It's getting hot in here!"

Mrs. Blake nodded. She ushered the lady out of the door after talking about further instructions, "Thank you for your service."

"No worries, I apologize for Dr. Marcus' absence. He's a little busy with the other patients, so he sent me instead."

"Sorry, I didn't get the chance to know your name earlier," Mrs. Blake took the lady's hand to shake it, an apology and a thank you for everything.

She smiled sweetly, "It's Aera, my name's Aera Silvers."

After they let out their farewells, she glanced once again to the Blake's home. She disappointedly sighed and low-spiritedly dialled a number on her phone. "Hello Marcus, it's me. There's no sign of her, the queen's not here."

Inside the Blake's, Theo looked at Thana resting on her bed, the risen sun lit her entire room but she doesn't seem bothered by the bright and warm light hitting her face. He sighed deeply making her move, she slowly began to open her eyes... but he turned his head and looked away!

"What are you doing here? Get out of my room!" She sat down and attempted to let out snow magic out of her palm but nothing happened- not even a single snowflake appeared! "W-what?"

"I'll leave right away, I just brought you your medicine." He nodded his head upward pointing the glass of water with a mixture of the tonic Aera gave them. "What were you doing last night?"

She did not utter a word, she did not even look at him, "Alright then, I'll leave Draco here to keep an eye on you. Mom's going to meet someone."

"No need, he's a fire-breathing lizard," Draco, Theo's dragon showed its little fangs and then hissed its tongue as a respond to Thana's insult!

Theo bit his lower lip, and then frustratedly let out the question he's been dying to ask, "Why do you hate me?"

She averted her eyes, and looked down fidgeting her fingers, she can't met his eyes, she don't want to... "You said you're going to leave." She whispered, but enough for him to hear her.

He nodded his head repeatedly and annoyingly left her alone.

He sighed and closed his eyes for a bit, "At least school is better, than being around her!" He took his things and marched out the main door leaving Draco at the fireplace.

Back at Thana's room, she just stared at the medicine placed on her study table, she shrugged the thought of it and stood up! She changed her clothes with a pair of jeans and plain white t-shirt. She hurriedly went straight to the door, placed her hand on the doorknob, and eagerly tried to leave her house! But something's strange!

Draco eyed on her, ready to take its flight when she dares to open the door! She didn't care so Draco flapped it's wide wings and breathed a light fire on the door! The fire touched her hand making her slapped Draco in the air! His head bumped on the wall, and crashed landing on the floor, "I- I'm...," she bit her lower lip as she laid her eyes on Draco carefully using its wing to touch its head.

She closed her eyes, quickly springing out the door, leaving Draco alone!

She gasped for air and turned her head around, making sure Draco didn't go after her! She wiped her dripping sweat on the side of her face. She looked around and saw the opening of the big, creepy dark cave. She slowly walk with light steps. Wthout her ice magic, her body slowly feels overwhelmed by the power she kept inside, frozen magic abilities no one knows she possesses. That's her secret...

At the end of the cave lies the enchanted lake. The water horse is on her sight again, the ray of sun directly hit her that made her more exhausted! Her breathing became deep and loud that caught the creature's attention. She fell on her knees and can't stand up the heat, she moved her knees one by one, crawling to the side of the lake. She touched the water and put her hand in, she let herself sunk and completely be submerged by the cool refreshing water of the enchanted lake. It didn't take a while and somehow it made her better. As she opened her her eyes, the alluring beauty of the enchanted lake is beyond of what the eyes can see above it!

There are different kinds of fish swimming around, different kinds of small creatures, others may call it beasts, but one caught her eyes. She swam deeper and closer to the large bubble shining, as the light reaches it. She swam around it, seriously examining the lady inside the bubble. The lady's eyes are closed so Thana assumed she's safe from her. She looked closer, she's beautiful with blue shades in her hair, she can't see his feet because of the dress she's wearing, 'A mermaid? Impossible! No one proved they really exist!' Thana thought.

She carefully touched the bubble, her finger went through without popping it. She felt a sudden flow of electricity in her spine. 'No... I'm continuously melting! This is bad!' Out of shock, her hand accidentally touched the lady inside. It opened her eyes! Thana moved her arms to move out of the water but that didn't do anything! It stared at her for minutes as she struggled. "You're going to die," Freya moved closer, slowly getting out from the big bubble, she touched Thana's face with both of her hands. They became like the sun, they became the light, they made the whole lake glow making it more seem magical! Alarmed the creatures near the enchanted lake gone hide...

Under the water they stayed still, and the light became weaker; Freya and Thana, the two became one!

Thana started to lose control of her body, she can't stop her eyelids from closing, her mind started to go blank and his sight had gone completely dark! She just felt a little force lifting her up...

'What's happening?'
