Seventeen

It's been about two months since Remy and I have been hanging out and going on small dates here and there. We still aren't an official couple, and to be totally honest I'm okay with that. Although most people think me and him are like some power couple. I even had some girl who told me that we should get the name of prom royals.

Prom, I haven't even though about prom in a while. Prom is literally in a week. Both Kholè and Karma are planning to go. Kholè is going with Julian and Karma said the person she's going with is, a surprise.

I've yet to get a date and I don't have a dress nor do I have plans for make-up and hair.

Is Remy even going to ask me? I mean, who knows if he might ask Nina to go with him.

This year's prom theme is enchanting. In all my years of high school, the planning committee has never outdone themselves this much. The venue has trees lit up as if fireflies are roaming the area. The ceiling of the venue had lights sorted in ways to look like a starry night. It's really beautiful.

On prom night the committee, they plan to give us a special surprise.

Getting pulled out of my thoughts by Lillian. We were in class writing notes for a class that was made for typing. Over the next couple of minutes, we continue to chat about our current love lives. Unfortunately, we sit next to gossipers. These people gossip 24/7 about everyone and anyone.

I was talking about my current situation with Remy and she was happy for me, but she told me she doesn't trust him at all. She said that she heard him talking about me behind my back, calling me a "desperate toy." I, of course, want to believe the best in him and denied that he would ever say that.

The gossipers look at, kinda with a look of pity.

I asked them what was on their minds and the spoke up to tell me that they heard the same thing from Remy himself.

I shook my head not wanting to believe any of this at all. "No, I won't believe it unless I hear it from him, myself."

Lillian just moved on from what she said and asked me if I would help her get ready for prom, which by the way is probably going to be the best night for Lillian.

12:59 pm

It's time for lunch and I just got out of class with Ace. He has been spending a lot of time with me lately.  He's usually not nice to people, but he's so nice to me.

Ace hangs around my friends too, although he doesn't really communicate them. If I'm not with Remy I'm with Ace. He takes me out of lunch when Remy is busy.

Ace takes his time to chat with me about each other's days. He's one of my most valued friends. He also buys me lunch and gets my friends coffees all the time. That's the way he shows he cares for my friends.

If I wasn't so in love with Remy then I'd probably be in love with Ace like all the other girls. He's really sweet, I swear.

Remy walks into the cafeteria, smirking. He's waving to everyone left and right, till he makes eye contact with me. He smiles as he walks over to us.

"Hey, Lana."

I wave at him smiling ear to ear. He sits next to me kissing my cheek.

" So any plans for prom?" he asks in a simple manner

My smile drops, currently in pissed, disappointed even.

"Is that your way of asking me to prom?" I huffed

" I mean what was I suppose to do, we're not dating Lana!"

I was taken aback he's never shouted at me like that. I shake my head and I get up from my seat and walk away.

"Ugh!" I shout in the quiet hallway

I lean on a locker, resting my head on the cool metal. Closing my eyes counting to ten slowly.

1...2...3....4...5...6....sigh

"Okay Lana, you're okay. It's going to be okay, just calm down."

I feel someone touch my shoulder, and I slowly open my eyes. I look up seeing Ace's soft eyes looking at me gently. We don't say anything. He takes me into his embrace. I hug him back as he caresses my hair trying to soothe me. I stand there in his solace embodiment for about 5 minutes.

The bell rings catching me off guard, I jumped surprised by the loud noise. Ace chuckles and I feel each vibration on my body. I hit him playfully and thanked him for calming me down before I had a mental break down in front of the whole school.
