Ch.6 - I became a Hobgoblin!!!

Running. I kept running. All I can do is run.

Wolves. Wolves everywhere. Leering as they chased me.

Bodies. Bodies of goblin lay everywhere as I ran. Blood beneath my feet.

Then I saw it.

I could never forget that scar. I slowed to a stop. A massive wolf stood before me, the pack leader, a wolf with a scar over it's right eye. I could shook my head in disbelief. "You... You can't be... Your dead! Polg killed you! I saw it!!!" I yelled at it, with anger as I remembered the whole event. The day I felt so scared, as well the day I felt so guilty.

Then I notice it, at the paws of the wolf, layed a goblin body, a goblin I failed to help when it happened. A goblin I looked up to, he who trained me to become a hunter, the one who protected me when I was so weak. Dute. The eyes of the marksman stared into mine, filling me with the pain of regret as well as weakness. My body trembled as I fell to my knees, tears trailing down my cheeks. "I-im so sorry Dute... I was so afraid... if only I was brave... if only... I was stronger..."

Those last words clung to my mind as everything grew dark, everything around me and Dute turn to black, then he too disappears.

"If only I was stronger."

I suddenly sprung awake, cold sweat dripping down my naked body as I pant a bit heavily. Looking at my surroundings, I can see im back in the goblin caves, to be specific, im in my hunting group's section. I was alone for a bit until Zola enters the area carrying a hunk of meat, she noticed im awake before softly rushing over. "How are you feeling?" She asked kneeling beside me, she seemed smaller than usual.

I softly brought a hand to my head that seemed to spin a bit, likely from jolting awake like I did. "I-im ok. A bit dizzy is all." I replied as I slowly calmed down. A glowing blue screen suddenly popped up before me.

[You evolved into a Hobgoblin]

That last piece of info was what really caught my attention. I softly looked at Zola who eyed me with concern, my body felt heavy and everything seem to shrink around me. "What... happened?" I asked the female goblin who stayed beside me. "Well after you passed out at the Looping River, we brought you back to the cave. As soon as Polg put you down here, you started glowing and growing. I brought your things back for you by the way. But since then, here we are two days later."

Two days? I was out for two days? "You have to be the youngest goblin to evolve in our clan ever." She adds which hit me. So I did evolve. Softly looking down at my body, I notice I am rather lean now, my abs a bit toned and noticable, with a pair of large breasts resting comfortably on my chest. Moving down I look to see I have long slender legs, I have a bit plumpness around my butt and hips, giving my body a bit of a hourglass figure. I honestly seemed human but with a green tint to my skin that seemed to have lightened a bit too.

Feeling my face, it felt slender, even a bit soft. Then I noticed my hair had grown rather long, it reached my butt and instead of being messy, it all lay delicately and straight. Checking my ears, they were smaller but still pointed like before, they seemed more elven like than goblin, perhaps my mother's genetics effected my evolution a bit.

Looking at my hands, they didnt end with sharp claws but had slightly sharp black nails while my fingers had grown longer. Going up I notice my arms were a bit lean with muscle same as my abs, slight but noticable. I truly evolved into a Hobgoblin. I feel better. I feel faster. I feel... stronger.

That dream really gave me a wake up call and with this new body, I feel I can prevent it from ever happening again.

"I am better now. Tell Rukk im ready to hunt again." I tell Zola who clearly was a bit skeptical about it, nodded and went off after giving me the meat. Stopping at the corner of the exit, she looked back at me. "Im glad your okay. Also the chief wants to see you." She says then leaves. I blink a bit at hearing the goblin chief wants to see me, could it be about the Golia- im mean Big Red? or perhaps with my evolution?

Looking at my clothes that layed in a pile beside me, they seem almost too small. Grabbing my wolf pelt top, I managed to wrap it around my body enough to wear it as a tube top. Grabbing the rags I had used for bottoms, I notice there is no way I could make something good enough to cover my... yea... I sighed knowing I have no choice but to be bottom naked. That is until footsteps enter the area.

It was Rukk. "How are you feeling Naoi?" He asks catching my attention. "Im good..." I simply replied while bringing my knees up a bit to cover myself some. The goblin eyed me a bit. "Zola said you wish to hunt again. Are you certain your ready?" He asks as he walks over to his things beside the back wall of the area. "Yeah im good, just need to adjust to this new body, but I will be ready." I said as I watching him grab a large wolf pelt and walked over. "I hope so, seeing you have taken down that massive fish, I hoped to see you do more." He says then tosses the wolf pelt onto my legs then goes on. "You can have that, think it as a reward for surpassing my expectations. I will speak to you later." He then leaves me with the pelt calmly and quietly.

I watched him go before looking at the pelt he had given me, it was enough to make a decent size shirt. Grabbing my short blade and making some adjustments, I convert the pelt into a decent side skirt, even used my old rags to make some makeshift underwear, though not the best quality, they will atleast provide coverage from prying eyes.

Remembering the blue screen, I attempted to make one appear but failed, I have no knowledge of it but I do recall seeing it when I was a baby. Remembering something about classes, I was greeted by two blue screens, thats when I realize it pops up when something happens or is thought of.

[Gathering job information]

[Choose three job talents]

[Gathering class information]

[Choose a class]

I was greeted by two lists of different jobs and classes. Jobs such as smithing, tailoring, mining, woodcrafting, leather works, appear on one. Classes such as cleric, archer, mage, rogue, knight, appear on the other. Looking through the lists, I selected ones I believe would be useful for the future.

[You have selected the job skills: Smithing, Mining, Leather Works; Confirm?]

[You have selected the class: Knight; Confirm?]

Confirming the skills and class, the screens disappear, though I dont feel much at all, I did feel oddly skilled in the selected skills and class. It made me smile, actually it made me excited some.

Standing up all dressed, I felt ready, I felt I could take on that scarred wolf leader and not show the slightest hint of fear. Grabbing my short blade which seem more like a long dagger in my hand, I left the area, making way for the chieftain's den. I have met him once, but since then I hardly see him.

As soon as I arrived, I noticed something immediately, and I wish I didnt.
