Ch.5 - Big Red Boss Fight!!!

Suddenly I snap into focus upon what was truly before me, I was amidst a boss, a mini boss but still a boss. I have no idea why I didnt see it before, Big Red was the only Dragonhead Catfish in the river, she was massive compared to alot of things, and now I am in her lair that has many skeletons of dead goblins! A couple were hobgoblins from what I can tell with they're largest bones, including the one I dragged out with the nice sword I pulled from the sands.

Before I could think too much, I realize I have two problems, first im in the lair of a very protective massive Dragonhead Catfish with powerful tail slaps and who knows what else, and im on a breathing timer, judging from the slight burn in my throat, im in need of a refresh real quick here. Making a quick lunge off a column toward the surface, I manged just a quick breath within a large air pocket before I am grabbed and pulled along by Big Red. 'Is she attempting to drown me!? Shit!!!' I mentally scream as I am pulled like a ragdoll in a circle.

Grasping the handling of my new found weapon with both hands, I aim where I plan to stab the Catfish. With haste, I thrust the blade's tip into Big Red's hide, earning a pain filled screech from the fishy boss along with some blood oozing out of the stab wound. This will be my first ever challenging fight besides the lone wolf when I was just a week old. Holding the blade with both hands as to keep it's weight steady, I wait for Big Red's next move, which was not long as she sped toward me with it's draconic beak like mouth open, is it gonna bite!? I spin in place as to have whatever it aimed for miss as it flew past.

'This is crazy! I cant hope to beat her under water! Its like fighting a bird in midair! I can only watch and dodge.' Then I get a idea. Dodging! I can lead her into her death. Looking around with haste, I see a crack in a wall, swim over and quickly jamming the hilt of my sword into it, turning it into a spike in the wall, I check to see that Big Red is just swimming around for a opening to attack. Making sure my sword is good in the crack, I swim in front of it, baiting my trap with myself, opening up my defense for Big Red. Seeing her chance, the massive fish sped towards me and with the use of my [Enhanced Agility] skill, I dodged the speeding Catfish whom I could've swore, widen her eyes at the sight of my blade, before crashing right into the wall, getting impaled while to my surprised, knocking down the wall, making the cave water spill into the new area along with me and Big Red.

Coughing out the little water in lungs, I looked around to see im in a old stone brick room, stone brick similar to that of the altar and columns. Standing up from the water covered floor, I look to see Big Red softly flopping around a bit as my sword was impaled in her neck. I can tell already it was killing her as the flopping was slowly down every second. Walking over to what is to be my hardest challenge yet, I knelt down beside the Catfish and held her down, as so she dont waste her energy. I looked into her eyes which stared into mine, I could feel her emotions as I did, they felt full of fear... but not for herself. Noticing now, some of her eggs got sucked into the stone room along with us, softly picking one up, she flopped weakly. Knowing exactly what she wanted from me, she is begging me to leave her eggs be, so they can hatch and become strong Dragonhead Catfish like her. I softly smile at her.

"Dont worry, I wont harm a single one." I say to her which seemed to have made clear to her as she eased up, enough so she passed without me realizing. Carefully collecting and putting the eggs back together at the altar, I return to her where I find she had died silently. Feeling a bit of relieve along with guilt, I pull my sword from Big Red and cleaned her blood from it with the water slowly filling the room. Curious, I looked around the new room to notice there collapsed staircase and a tunnel leading up to what looks like the surface. Remembering what I needed to do when in stress, I pursed my lips and real hard blew air through them, whistling as loud as I could into the tunnel.

What felt like a half a hour of constant whistling, suddenly I can see the head of Zola peering down at the top of the tunnel. "She's over here!" She called out which made me so very glad to hear her voice again. Suddenly im starting to see everyone one else peer down at me, then a end of a rope comes crashing down at my feet. "Hey Polg, I got something heavy down here for ya to pull out with me, think ya can handle it?" I asked as I got a immediate answer which is a sort of snort, he is always up for a challenge to show off his strength.

Tying the rope around Big Red tight end so she wont slip out, I tug the rope before suddenly being risen and pulled up through the tunnel. It took a few seconds but then im met with the faces of my party whom im relieved to see though they had somewhat worried expressions. "What the hell were you doing down there!?" Rukk was the first to confront me. "Sorry Rukk, I chased Big Red down a underwater tunnel and ended up down there." I replied to him trying to act like it wasn't intentional, then Polg pulled the Catfish from the tunnel which fell sprawled out by the chimney like object. It was massive up close, it t would make up the length of two and a half goblins, which for us is quite big.

"H-how the hell did you kill it Naoi!?" Leek stammered out in complete surprise which made me smile. I was about to reply until a wave of drowsiness hits and I collapse into Rukk. """NAOI!!!"""
