Ch.12 - A Better Future Comes

It has been a couple days now since I single handedly fought the Goblin Lord who is a Demon Commander and won... Okay that isn't entirely the truth. I did kinda win, more like I scared away the Goblin Lord after I sliced off his foot during a intense moment of me going berserk. His fault though for harming my mother, I should try controlling my feelings better. But there is more to it, turned out the goblins of the clan fear me alot more than not only the Chieftain but the Lord too, in so I ended becoming the new head of the clan. Though it was unintentional, I decided to accept it, that way I can change things around here, I will mold these goblins to be a better race, one not so disgusting and violent. Will take quite a bit of work but I will make it happen.

So for right now, I am gonna whip these weak goblins into shape, starting with daily exercises and regiments. From doing swimming laps in the Looping River to sparring with the guardian Forest Golem whom surprisingly went along with it when I simply asked. At the start, the goblins were terrible, but after a few hours, they were performing at the minimal of what I expected to be done, besides a dozen or so who did better which I say is pretty good. Now the goblins are three times stronger, I felt the training may have been too much but seeing how no one got seriously injured or died, I'll continue it.

As for myself, I took my own training to a much higher level. Turns out, one curious little goblin during the Looping River laps, explored the tunnel Big Red enters to get to her nest, found something very interesting. Apparently there was a hidden passage that led to a surprisingly dry stairway leading down, good thing he came straight to me instead of exploring it as it turned out to be a Dungeon, or so that is what Rukk told me. Turns out in this world, there are structures called Dungeons that house monsters, traps, and treasures, or so that is what I witnessed when I first explored it with my hunting party. So I decided to train myself by exploring this dungeon, and so far... im only got down to the 5th floor, the place turned out to be much larger than I anticipated.

As such, I decided to give myself a time limit in the dungeon, training my speed and maneuverability as well as memory, while only giving myself half an hour to explore. When my time is up, I simply retrace my steps, that way I am only gone for an hour, cant just leave my clan alone too long, especially since I cant trust them with they're new strength, plus a girl gotta eat right? Thanks to the exploring though, I fought new monsters such as Giant Spiders which grossed me out a bit hard, Vampire Bats which were honestly pretty easy in close combat, and fun little Slimes that seem mostly harmless besides the fact they travel in groups. There is a massive Living Statue but im guessing due to it's size and weight, it can only be in it's room where it protects a large pair of doors that I found leads to the next floor. There was also a odd creature that had disguised itself as a treasure chest, it almost fooled me but thanks to my [Mana Sense] ability, I killed it before it could react.

Back with my clan, I decided to designate the jobless goblins to jobs that seemed shorthanded, then made a new job for the rest, who are now Builders. Commanding them in what to do, I had the builders construct a wooden fence around the entrance to our cave, that way we have more protection from invading wild life. The fence is a bit rugged as we didnt have the best tools and or materials, but it will work for now. Afterward I instructed the Crafter goblins to create the tools we need but they're skills and knowledge are too weak to do so, even after showing them how. I have no idea how this clan survived for so long, they may have the numbers, but they're skills in anything besides simple combat, were terrible or non-existent.

Now to get to where I am right now.

"Its been a little while... huh Golem." I say as I pant a bit in exhaustion, I get a grumble as a reply which made me smile a bit. While pairing the goblins against the guardian Golem, I decided to spar with it for the heck of it, and thanks to my own training, I managing to keep up with it. Lunging toward the rock monster, I swung my blade which it deflects with it's arm before throwing a punch with it's other arm. With quick work, I grab and push myself up into the air in front of it using it's own fist as leverage before slamming my feet into it's head, I staggered the Golem while doing a backflip midair as I move back to safety. This fight has been going on a good few minutes now, and I can tell by how much my muscles were aching, any further and I might collapse.

"NAOOIIIIII!!!" A familiar girl's voice calls out as it came toward the area. 'Wait... thats!' I thought as I then see her, a cute little goblin running toward me with a happy face and giggle. I blinked then smiled and kneeled before getting tackle hugged by the little Goblin. "Oof... Suey, I thought I told you to stay in the cave." I tell the little Goblin who pouts a bit before hugging me even more. "But Suey no wanna!! Suey wanna be with Big Sister!!" That's right, my little sister is born, it happened the night of the Goblin Lord event, where I ended up waking to my mother groaning and shifting in pain. I thought it she was in pain from a bruise or something until I noticed her water had broke, which totally made me panic. Getting help from my party, they helped both me and my mother through all of it, and man my hand was numb from my mother gripping it so hard.

Sue is just almost a couple days old yet she is already running around giggling and playing, I dont recall growing up as fast as her, but I figured every Goblin has a different growth rate. With my help, I taught Sue basic knowledge she needs to know, especially what is good and what is bad being I wasn't gonna trust the goblins of the clan, which I know will corrupt her in some way. She is so cute though, similar to how I was when I was a in my first few days, her chubby cheeks and innocent eyes, I swear I could be looking in a age reversing mirror.

"Does mom know you are out here?" I ask the playful little sister of mine who nods rapidly with her adorable happy face. "Okay I guess you can stay, but you gotta listen to me and stay close." I tell her in a way a big sister would, in return I get a quick and energetic. "Okay!" Which made me smile, I never had siblings in my previous life so this was all new to me, but I am glad to have one in this life, especially one as cute as Suey. I hear footsteps coming and looked to see it is a very exhausted Leek which fell to his hands and knees. "Im sorry... Chief Naoi... your mother wanted me to... look after her... but she is so fast... I couldn't keep up..." He says breathing heavily, I replied after a sigh. "Your fine Leek, get some water before you pass out."

With Suey now here, im gonna forfeit the sparring match, that is until I hear. "Suey wanna see Big Sister fight!!!" Sue says aloud as she waves her arms around excitedly, I simply smiled and stood, it's hard to say no to that cute face. "Alright, but you stay with Leek okay." I tell her and she nods before running over to the still tired Goblin who is getting some water from a bucket. Looking to the Golem whom watched while waiting the whole time. "Where were we big guy!" I say before taking a stance with my sword in hand, resuming the matching. Immediately the Golem charges towards me and I was about to move until I noticed my foot was wrapped up in grass from some reason, I panicked as the Golem was coming at me fast. 'What the hell is going on!?'

Suddenly, just as the Golem was about to slam into me, a blast of wind blows the Golem away across the clearing. I stared in shock before looking to see it came from my little sister who had her hands in front of her. 'Did she just use magic!?' I thought as she started to rn toward me while crying, I quickly slice away grass that had snared my foot before meeting her with a hug. "Its okay Suey, im okay." I tell her as she hugs me tightly while crying.

"Chieftain!" Out of nowhere, a couple Hobgoblins come towards me dragging along a unconscious robed body before pulling back it's hood revealing a male Dark Elf. "We found this guy hiding nearby, To'bo say he saw him use magic toward you." One of them says as they stood waiting for my order. 'A assassin? That would explain that grass ensnaring my foot.' I thought then gave them a order. "Take him to my chamber and tie him up." They immediately nodded and dragged the male off to the cave, I looked to see the Golem come over to my side peacefully, then I return my attention to the Dark Elf. 'Could he be working for the Goblin Lord? If so, I will get every bit of info I can get out of him. Mark my words Goblin Lord, I will kill you!'
