Ch.11 - The Goblin Lord's Arrival

Honestly. I couldn't help but feel happy to see that damn clan cave again. The incident with Fenrir really emotionally exhausted me, I mean I almost felt like peeing myself. Glad I didnt, be really embarrassing. However something was off about the cave, it feels more evil than usual. Im starting to have a bad feeling about returning. As me and my hunting party enter the cave, goblins were all crowding the tunnel where the female area would be. Shit. Don't tell me the males are being daring. I rushed over to the tunnel ready to deal with the idiots. However they all actually seem scared in a way, they heavily cowered away when they see more, far more than normal, what the hell is going on.

As I pushed through the crowd toward where my mother would be, I see him, the reason the cave felt so evil, the one I was warned about. The demon commander, also the lord of goblins, a Goblin Lord. He stood a tall, almost two feet taller than me, and he was a sickly greyish green in color. He wasn't bad looking for a male goblin lord, yet he looks evil with his twisted armor that only covered his torso, and torn black cloak, even his black pointed beard makes him look like a demon. Looking toward his hand however was what made him go from evil to sinisterly evil, as I see my mother's head in his grasp, her breathing was ragged as she was a bit beaten up. Seeing this sent me in a rage, a goblin lord or not, that is my mother!

Drawing my sword, I sped toward the monster holding my mother, but what I didn't expect to happen, came from a single glance from him. His gaze connects to mine and I could feel my blood freeze within my body and I halted to a stop. He turned to face me while dropping my mother in the progress, though my rage surged through me, tell me to strike, yet I couldn't move a muscle, what the hell is this.

"What is the meaning of your pathetic insolence. A worm like you dares to approach your lord in such a way. I should kill you." The lord of goblins say aloud, his voice etching into my mind as if it is resonating in my soul, could this be a trait of a Goblin Lord? Is the goblin part of me cowering from his presence? Damnit. I wanted to slice that fucker's head off. The male watched me before grimacing a nasty smile. "Your quite powerful compared to these other weaklings, including that idiot of a chieftain of yours. Interesting. You'd make a fine warrior in my army. Join me child."

The idea of that made me sneer, I felt disgusted being offered such a position and the male could tell. "Maybe you need a reason to join. Perhaps..." He pauses and starts stepping on my mother's head, making her contort in pain. "... a life for your loyalty." Seeing this happen is starting to make my blood heat up to a boil, the goblin in me was getting pushed away thanks to it, allowing me to move. Immediately I use the skill [Dash Strike] I acquired from my Knight class, allowing me to zip passed the bastard with my mother in my arms. A growl fills the room as the Goblin Lord's face contorted in pain as he is now missing a foot, he fell back against the cave wall. "You! How dare you attack your lord! You pathetic worm! Goblins attack!" He calls out yet none of the male or even female goblins moved from the tunnel.

My uncle the chieftain, stared shocked at the clan. "You heard our lord, attack! What is wrong with you idiots!" He yells at them yet still they didnt move, it is because they are too scared to do so. I softly layed my mother down after checking to see if she is alright, then I stood and faced the bastard lord. "They won't move because they know who to fear, they know I am not afraid to slice every little limb from they're bodies. You'd do it to gain they're loyalty, I'd do it to get rid of them. I dont care if your a Goblin Lord, a demon commander, or a fucking god of the land. You dare to touch my family, I will destroy you." I say to them with my sword in hand, it was clear I speak true as the my eyes showed nothing but anger toward them, which made both the Goblin Lord and chieftain cower back some.

"Y-you wouldnt dare." The goblin chieftain stuttered out which only received two words from me. "Try me." With that the Lord growled. "Chieftain get over here and get me up off the ground." The lord snarled which made my uncle fearfully rush over and got the tyrant of a goblin onto his one foot. "You will pay for this worm. I will return to kill you and these pathetic goblins. Move idiot." He says and the chieftain began taking him away through the goblin crowd and out of the cave.

I watched them leave, moving to stand among the goblins that fearfully crowded together in the tunnel. "For now on you listen to me, any of you fail to do so will be punished. Now return to your jobs. Now!" With that said, the goblins rushed out of the tunnel and back to what they are suppose to be doing, which for most of them is nothing as many dont have a job, however just so to not anger me, they assisted with jobs in the cave. I return to my mother who had sat up and is worriedly watching me. "Are you ok Naoi? That was quite a scene." She asks only for my reply to be a action. One where I collapse into her lap tiredly, I was even shaking some. "That was so scary... I didnt think I could make that composure last so long." I tell her as I rest, all I want to do now is curl up into her and sleep for the next week.

I feel her hand softly pet my head which made me relax some. "The hard part is over now, rest and recover." She tells me which made me ease up some more. Oh how much I wish that is true, however what happened was simply a fuse and I lit a it with a bonfire. I know that Goblin Lord bastard will return like he said, and I gonna have to whip these weak goblins into shape to be able to repel him. I got lucky as his guard was down, but after this incident, if I even attempt another attack like that, my skull will be smashed. So the real hard part is coming, and by the looks of it currently, we are fucking screwed. Tomorrow I'll be working my ass off, I just hope these goblins can follow orders better than they can cower.
