Acer Miller
After six weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit due to respiratory problems, Samantha was allowed to take their baby who Thanos had named Acer home.
Nigel had promised Samantha, they would stay together in his house in the suburbs when their son was born.
" Why not stay at Blue sky for a couple of months so that I can help you take care of Acer?"
" Lisa am married now, but you and Marcus can always come when ever...Nigel doesn't want to live in his in-laws' house."
" He doesn't have in-laws." Lisa looked at him and rolled her eyes.
Thanos was tempted to say something but Nigel wouldn't, so he kept quiet.
" This is a trial run Lisa, if we manage, well and good but if we can't, I'll bring you and Marcus to live with us too."
Lisa " humphed" to show Thanos her dissatisfaction and walked to the back sit of Thanos's car to say bye to Acer.
" You poor child, you have a crazy father."
" Lisa!...Are you for real?"
" Am not lying, his crazy, and it has nothing to do with his mental issues."
" Isn't that some sort of discrimination madam?"
Thanos failed to keep his facade.
" Huh..."
" Is he..."
" Enough Lisa."Samantha cut her short.
Lisa looked at Thanos and walking up to him, she whispered;
" I know who you are..."
Thanos was not one to be easily intimidated, so he just smiled at Lisa.
" We have a long way ahead of us, we will be going now."
Lisa was the one who had told Samantha to treat all the personalities as one person but hated that Thanos because he pushed her buttons so much. She wasn't worried for Samantha, because she know both would never hurt Samantha.
Lisa and Marcus left and Thanos drove Samantha to the suburbs, It had rained a few hours before and the roads where covered by a light fog.
It was nearing 5 a.m when a white Mustang pulled up in front of a luxury iron drive way gate. He pressed on a two buttoned remote in the car and the gate opened.
The Mustang pulled up front a cream white coloured house. He turned the ignition off and woke the sleeping Samantha by his side.
" Honey, we are here."
" uhmmm..."
" I'll take yours and Acer's thing first and I'll come and get you after."
" Ok..."
Samantha was excited, but also nervous to the fact that Lisa won't be around. Nigel has to work and she will be at home with Acer most of the time. With Acer's birth, she was now on Consolidation chemotherapy used to kill any cancer cells that may be left in the body. She was in remission but with the six weeks of the intensification chemotherapy, she had lost more than half of her hair.
He carried Acer who was in a baby carrier seat and held Samantha's hand and lead her inside the house.
" Welcome to your new home baby and my little baby"
" Thank you honey."
"I'll take you around when you freshen up."
" Hmmmm" Samantha nodded.
Nigel had prepared adequately for Acer and Samantha living with him. He had Acer's pine wooden crib seat up on Samantha's side of the bed. With most needed things put where Samantha can easily find them.
With Acer sleeping, Samantha went to take a bath.
" Is it ok to come bath with you?" Thanos asked at the door.
" No, no...am ok."
" Oh ok."
Then Samantha realised, that was the first time Nigel had asked her since they got married. She felt the bald patches in her hair and felt insecure.
" Let me know if you need anything then"
" wait." Samantha said cussing herself.
" You can come in and bath...with me."
Thanos stood in place.
He really was wishing Samantha to say that to him, now that she said it...he didn't feel right about it.
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, you can do this.
He hesitated then turned, and walked inside the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist.
Samantha was butt naked in the shower. At first glance, all he could see was bald patches in her head, a C - section scar inches under her belly button.
Her eyes looking at the unknown.
" Everything will be easy once I step in to the glass shower cubicle."he told himself.
He watched as Samantha listened in on his footsteps.
" Are you ok?"
His eyes looked her over and,
