Samantha finaly relectantly got up to go to the bedroom.
" Help me upstairs."
With Acer in her hands, Samantha let Nigel help her upstairs.
After she put Acer in his crib sleeping Samantha sat on the bed.
" I know you have something to tell me but I won't ask you because am sure you should have told me this even before you married me."
She was so emotionless, he couldn't read her. With the whiteness of the pupil spreading to the iris she looked cold and domineering
" It all started when I was eight years old. One morning on my way to school my driver all of a sudden changed route and I ended up being kidnapped for a ransom, which my mother paid but I wasn't taken back even after that.
My Kidnappers kept me with them for more than two months extorting money from my parents, mostly my Mom and her family.
While there I clearly heard my father's voice, telling my kidnapers to abuse me a little, so that they could get more money from my mom.
And they did.
I was eventually dumped at my home on our front porch almost dying. No arrests where made.
When I was taken to the hospital then, my parents discovered I had Cardiomyopathy - An acquired or hereditary disease of heart muscle. The condition that makes it hard for the heart to deliver blood to the body, and can lead to heart failure.
With my father acting as the CEO of St Clara's hospital...I had a heart transplant almost as quickly as they found out about my condition.
After that the hatred I had for my father knew no bounds.
I become timid and lonely, I couldn't make friends. Because I was kidnapped it became the topic of ridicule for my classmates until a transfer pupil came to sit next to me. His name was Dustin, Dustin Wilton."
At the mention of Dustin's name, Samantha heart sunk, but she didn'tshow it...
She was Imbued by a feeling of nostalgia and longing. The feeling, she had learnt to suppress.
" Dustin became my friend and with that budding friendship, came the nickname Legin, he said it made one feel stronger and because he was the one who said it, I believed it. He had a larger than life attitude, always happy, and the one thing that he loved to do more than anything else was draw eyes. his sister Samantha's, who he called Heather. He draw Heather's eyes.He said they were the most beautiful eyes he'd ever seen.
Tears sprang from Samantha's eyes unforced, and with a straight face.
"Batrayal was never ever something I would do to Dustin but one day he brought with him a photo of his sister to school. It was like at first sight. In my head,I thought, if I can marry Dustin's sister, I'll be with him forever. I asked questions about her all the time and because Dustin liked to talk about her, he didn't find it weird.
That was my first batrayal.
As time went on and and we grew each year , I started noticing that like me, Dustin too was in love with his sister, at that point, i had only seen his sister once at their home. I couldn't judge him for being in love with his sister, for in my eyes he was perfect.
It wasn't a surprise that we both decided to go to medical school and that we we both went to St Clara for internship. In my first year at St Clara, my Cardiomyopathy came back to haunt me and I was regularly out of classes.
My father had all the intern's medical information sent to him and that was how my father found my donor using what ever force.
Lo and behold, my match was Dustin Wilton
