Chapter 184: Battle for the Docks Part 2: Reinforcements

Blood flowed as my whip tore through the fleshy body of a wizard as they tried to bring a shield up before themselves. They were ultimately futile and died in a flash of blood and gore that smashed into other wizards. Still, the military unit stood its ground, and the commander cut more orbs from that Necromancer. I had to keep an eye on her as I jumped towards the next group, and I heard a matching bang up in the sky.

Sparing a glance as my whip cut through new enemies, I saw spell fireworks light up the sky. Some white, others yellow., I didn't know what they meant, but one was particularly close, and I turned and massacred another wizard. Seconds felt like minutes, and I heard the clash of steel and spells against bone as the soldiers ignored the death and destruction behind them just as the Commander jumped before me.

The commander's great sword stopped my bladed whip, and the whip started to circle her blade. I pulled it taunt and reinforced the whip with my energy while the Commander looked at me with hate. "Disgusting rebel. How dare you side with the dead killing the living." She said, sounding extremely self-righteous.

Humor filled me as I remembered the old flicks in my past world when people acted heroic. Instead, I pulled her blade back, and she put her sword in a thrusting position, and my whip lost grip and came off. Her form of emotional rage rejecting my cool energy. I was worried as a wizard started to gather mana to shoot it at me.

It was a distraction I couldn't do against the Commander, but she turned to see three green orbs approaching her. Both of us were distracted by a form of ice magic coming at me. My whip lashed out, killing the wizard, while the commander took a moment to cut the orbs in half, cutting the mana out of existence.

The stand-off between us was no longer applicable, and my whip lashed out at her, aiming for her arm like a snake. The sudden onslaught of violence didn't surprise her, and she quickly dodged, making it so my whip blasted a hole in a building near us. Fresh blood leaked down the walls as someone seemed to be inside, but I didn't care.

Instead, my attention was on the woman launching herself at me with her sword coming down. Her speed might be high, and I found myself moving before I even knew it. I retracted my bladed whip back into a short sword as her sword dug into the ground with a shock effect that I jumped away from. Her follow-up was almost instantaneous, and my whip finished retracting just in time for her sword to drag through the ground and launch up at me. Intercepting it with my bladed whip sent me flying up into the air.

This Commander was quick and relentless, flowing with her sword swing and launching herself after me. My whip unfurled, and I quickly sent my whip to a building nearby, blasting the roof apart and wrapping around a rafter just as the commander was about to reach me. Using my whip as leverage, I twirled and spun quickly as she thrust her sword at me.

Wrong move, and my body twisted around as I retracted my whip from the rafter. The commander soared past me, and she looked shocked, wondering how I dodged. It didn't matter as I finished pulling my whip back and sent my whip at her where she was going to land on the roof.

Her feet just touched the roof when my whip destroyed the tiles and structure just under her feet. Fresh scared screams erupted from the building, and I twisted my body as I landed on the ground and sent my whip back up at the commander as she stumbled on the roof. I watched the brown-haired commander's eyes open wide as the whip was coming toward her face.

Suddenly ice erupted in front of her for just a moment before it shattered as my whip collided with it. The strength and fresh mana movement made me turn as I noticed reinforcements. No, it was a solitary B ranker, but I heard the sound of a march in the distance. "Commander, I came ahead to assist," a man's voice in a robe reported and turned to look at me.

Just then, more green glowing orbs reached out to them, and I wished I could slap that necromancer. Their attack pattern was simple and predictable. Their main focus was obviously on the dead clashing with the soldiers, and those orbs, although dangerous, were only dangerous enough if they hit. Looking around, you could see rotting houses and bodies but a severe lack of damage to those they were truly targeting.

My expression was Dark as the man had protected this Commander from death. "Thank you," She said, turning to me as she regained her footing on the ground.

The robed man looked to be slightly chubby around the stomach, but I could feel the Cold mana on him. He was clearly an Ice Wizard, and his mana reflected that, and I realized that things were going to get much more complicated with only that useless Necromancer behind me. Her Green orbs didn't stop coming, and the Necromancer was smart about something and began to attack the unit to clear them up and started to raise the dead.

"We must deal with the whip master before us before we turn back to the dead. The Necromancer he not as much of a threat to us as the unit." The Commander said, her voice hard and full of fury. "We kill this whip master or force her to retreat before taking the Docks back to regain control of the city. How far is your unit?" She asked.

"Twenty minutes tops," The man said, looking at me, and I felt the mana around me attempting to chill. "You call her a whip master?" He asked, and I knew the Mana around me started to change, and the slight reprieve ended.

I leaped back, my back colliding with steel armor. My strength sent a group of men forward into the zombies stumbling and taking them off kilter due to their close proximity. My bladed whip loosened, and I felt my mana move around my body. As I put it into my whip, I took my ground and twisted my body, sending it toward the robed man.

The commander moved and launched herself at me while the Robed man smiled, and an Ice shield formed just in front of him as he moved. My whip blasted through it just as he finished dodging as the ice delayed my whip just long enough. The movement seemed practiced, and he was smiling in a taunting manner.

The commander was fast, and she appeared before me even as I retracted my whip, only to make the biggest mistake. I couldn't believe how stupid she was as she brought her steel foot down on my retracting whip, hoping to rob me of a weapon. I couldn't help but laugh as I pulled and retracted the whip back into itself as the sadist's whip pulled through with my energy through it. It cut into her steel armor like butter, and a half second later, as she tried to rob my mobility or weapon from me, she began to scream. Enchantment after enchantment cut into her, sending pain into her head from my sadist whip without robbing me of either my mobility. I leaped as the Wizard sent an ice spike of mana to use what he thought was an opportunity from his commander.

Her scream sounded, and her rage sounded with it, and my instincts flared harder than from the undead. My eyes narrowed, and I finished pulling my whip back. The woman's scream seemed to invigorate those behind me, and the remaining archers and wizards fought harder. The woman then launched herself at me, and suddenly she was before me, sending a horizontal cut at me with her sword. My body moved on instinct, and I saw her eyes as my body lay to the ground to dodge her sword, my ankles bent at an unnatural angle.

My instincts flared again, and I felt the movement of frozen mana under me and I flipped myself as I watched the woman with only white eyes soar over me. Fear and adrenaline made me move faster as I flipped myself with my hands at one of the most flexible and oddest angles possible. I barely even knew that I could move like that, and my muscles screamed at me for making things bend in ways they were not meant to. My body and muscles held, and my bones were built for flexibility. Everything seemed to stay intact as I found myself back on my feet.

I twisted my body and unleashed itself at the commander as a spike of ice mana appeared where I had been a second later. The air around us started to cool, too, and the weather turned cold. None of this mattered as the Commander turned with her sword up in a reflexive defensive stance, and my whip in the center hit her sword with a loud clang. Then the tip of my bladed sword cut into her face and blinded one eye before cutting down her face and then through her breast before wrapping around her sword.

Blood splattered, her body shook, and her scream eclipsed again as she had made her second mistake causing serious damage, and the pain enchantment worked. The scream of pain was from the depths of hell, and she charged at me. I smiled only to change from a smile to a frown as the world suddenly turned white and blasted the woman away into her unit. The sudden blizzard was clearly from the wizard, and I leaped to the side while retracting my whip back to my side.

A moment later, my frown turned dark and heavy as I now noticed that the estimate the wizard gave the commander in front of me was a lie. Mana swilled and a unit of wizards with a few soldiers at the front filled the streets. The dead from the Necromancer was on the verge of breaking through.

I was in a dangerous situation and my frown was deep as the clash of the dead versus the unit was coming to a close. The Wizard wasn't letting up, and I could see the fury on the man's face as the commander's situation became unknown to both of us. Did he blast her into the hands of the undead of her unit? It would take a minute to know, and he didn't have time to figure it out as I would kill his underlings if he didn't fight me.

Following that, I was angry I couldn't kill the commander of these units myself. The world was turning a deeper white, but my instincts were not flaring for this man yet, so his attack was yet to come. I finished retracting my whip, and I felt my reserves of energy after my third large fight tonight. I was getting low but could still kill this Wizard, I promised myself, and my battle intent roared as I smiled again, ready to launch myself into yet another battle as his command went out.

"FIGHT!" The robed man yelled, and mana around the area moved. Men with swords and shields roared and they smashed their swords against their shields as they roared again. They raised their shields to defend themselves as the wizards prepared their spells.

A new round was about to start, and my eyes narrowed as my blood boiled. It was a fight!
