Kieran's P.O.V
I sat in the shadows of a small cramped office while facing the single desk and the room's only other occupant, my eyes snapped momentarily to where the person-in-question's arms crossed themselves under her breasts. "Been a while," she stated breaking the awkward silence between us.
I snorted as I tried to hold back a laugh, failed, then tried covering it up with a cough, "Yeah," I stated as I looked for any sort of reaction, "Yeah I guess you could say that," carefully I turned my chair around so I was sitting in it backwards, "How you been Leelee?"
"Fine," was the growled answer, "And what about you Kierin?" she asked, "What brings you out here to find lil' ole' me?"
"Just wanted a little chat," I laughed softly, "I wanted to talk with an old friend," I smirked at her across the tiny desk, "I hear you went and almost got yourself married Leelee," I leaned over the back of the chair, and tried to hide my anger at the idea of her getting married, "Tell me about it."
She was silent for a little while, so it startled me when she laughed out of the blue, "God!" she screamed out, "I should have known!" she surged to her feet and began to pace, "I should have known that's all you'd ever want from me, after all I always was your meal ticket."
She laughed again, making me slightly uneasy, "Well guess what genius," she snarled, a scowl covering her beautiful face, "You're not getting a damn thing from me!" she slammed her fist down on the desk making it shake slightly, "You couldn't get anything from me back in school when I thought you were my whole world, and you won't get anything out of me now when I can't even stand the sight of you!"
I jerked back in shock, "Now Leelee," I started, only for her to cut me off.
"Oh don't you 'now Leelee' me you no good rat!" she snarled as she stormed around the desk, stalked over to the office door and flung it open, "Get the hell out of my office, and stay the hell out of my life!"
By this point poor Selene had tears streaming down her face and her normally pale cheeks were flushed with rage. As I stood from my chair and walked towards the door, and her trembling form, I was looking at a side of her that I'd never seen before.
"You have my card if you change your mind Leelee," I murmured as I stopped in the doorway to stare at her lovingly, "If that fiance of yours doesn't come to his senses just give me a call," finally I walked fully out the door and it was slammed behind me.
I sighed as I walked away from the now closed office, "Just relax Keiran," I muttered to myself as I walked out the main entrance and towards my waiting limousine, "Just be patient," I continued once the limo door had been closed behind me, "She'll be mine soon enough," I smiled at the thought.
"Sir," my driver's voice stated from a speaker system, "Do you want me to stop by the club so you can brief the men?"
I paused to think about it for a moment before pressing the button to answer him, "Yes Michael, go ahead and stop," I smirked, "I want this done as soon as possible." Michael nodded into the rearview mirror before he turned down a side street leading towards a low class bar and rather disreputable club.
Once we reached the door the bouncer gave a slight bow and opened the door to let us in, "Hello gentlemen," I stated simply as our arrival had drawn the attention of every gang member within the club.
The leader of the gang smirked as he looked at me, "Hey boss, so what's the job this time?"
I gave an amiable smile as I walked over to the table where he was sitting, Michael right behind me, "I need half of your men to cause enough of a rukus to bring the town's favorite hero out into the open, the sooner the better," I smirked, "and the other half should be waiting for a certain woman to also show up, and capture her when she does."
I watched as the gangster's eyes widened, then he pushed away from the table shaking his head and waving his hands through the air, "Nuh uh, no way, sorry boss but hell no," he took a breath, "Tangling with the local fly boy," he shrugged, "Okay fine, we'd do that anyway just for fun," now he scowled, "But messing with that little lady is a no go for us," his scowl slowly turned to a smile, "Sorry boss but she lives in my building, I ain't got a bad thing to say about the girl, actually I kinda like her."
I nodded in understanding before I stood up, turned around and patted Michael's shoulder, "Take care of things," was all I said before walking out, not even looking back when the screams of pain started.
"Well back to the drawing board," I paused as the shadows around me shifted, "Unless you want the job Carlos," I turned and raised an eyebrow at the group of men who now stood before me, the leader wearing a skull patterned cloth over the lower half of his face.
"It will be done," his voice echoed around the alleyway, then suddenly he and all of his men were gone.
"Well they certainly know how to make an exit," I stated to Michael as he joined me in the alley, his white shirt now stained red.
"Indeed sir," was his only reply.
