Hello guys, I just wanted to clarify somethings about Henrik and his personality along with his behaviour with other people, you guys may not know this. Still, I raid every single comment, paragraph comment, reviews you people post of Webnovel.
Recently I have read a review stating that Henrik is a 2000-year old monster so he should behave like one and also that his personality is similar to a teenager.
First of all, it is true Henrik is a 2000-old monster and I think I am doing an ok job at making him act smart and efficiently, every single move that he makes has some more profound meaning and I have portrayed it many times by now.
Also, if you remember then Henrik was trapped inside a World prison for 2000-years which was on a loop, meaning that a single year repeated again and again, his physical growth was also paused because of the external conditions of the prison.
Now, imagine being alone for 10-years without contacting any person, with only a T.V as your only source of entertainment which only showed the programs that made you sad, angry, helpless, and you felt similar emotions.
Remember that when Henrik died, he was only 14 or 15 years old, he only knew familial love. After dying, he watched his siblings behaviour and learned other feelings, the most dominant one being the familial love.
He learned fear from his siblings when their father chased them; he learned kindness from Rebekah but didn't attach importance to it due to seeing people make use of her kindness. (Ex:-Amora and Elina)
He learned to honour and loyalty from Elijah; he loved ruthlessness from Kol, he learned decisiveness from Niklaus. Still, he also inherited his lack of trust, lack of humanity, lack of attaching sentiments to things. He learned that love and trust would only betray you, just like his family was betrayed by those they loved, people they loved tried to hurt them.
He practically never grew older in prison, thus staying a teenager for 2000-years. People say he objectified his subordinates and think of them as food, well he has trust issues, he also deems affection to those other than family as wrong.
He sees people for their worth and has been doing the same for 2000-years and even more after being transmitted into this new world. He acts ruthlessly because he deems it necessary, thinks of Kiyohime as a subordinate and 'food' so that he doesn't attach any sentiments to her.
If you guys would have noticed, he had been a little kinder to her as the time passes, you can't change his point of view for he has been thinking like that for 2000-years.
Is he evil?, he chose Kiyohime as his only source of food so to avoid unnecessary trouble and death, he didn't force her to do so, he made a trade with her. He helped her, he gave her power, immortality, and a family, in return, her serves him for eternity. He isn't like Niklaus but finds Elijah's method more useful in the long run.
He minimised his killing to avoid unnecessarily gaining trouble, his hate for spirits is too much, so much that it takes away most of his reasoning, he just wants to make them suffer and imprison them like he once was.
It doesn't matter who is right or who is wrong; whether it was you who hurt me or someone from your kind, you will pay. This is the very nature of humans which is amplified after becoming a vampire.
He is a youngster who started growing after coming in this world, is that he is changing, little by little, to tell the truth, I planned for volume three to focus more of Kiyohime so that readers can see the improvement in his character, little by little over the time.
Freya also acts as an agent which accelerates his pace of changing by a bit. His most heightened emotion is familial love and after that are the ideals and lessons he learned from his family.
Some say that he is having I timed outbursts of emotion, well what do you expect from someone who was alone of more than a Millennium. He gets impulsive only when the situation would cause trouble for his family or his plan, which is to be understood, considering how much he thinks of every project.
While writing this novel, I did a lot of research about the Japanese system and working since I am an Indian trying to create a whole world for the readers to connect with, I research every little event cause I have no idea what it is about. It takes time and effort.
I need to proofread my plans so that it doesn't collide with the timeline of the things which happen. I put effort into creating a background and story for every character, Heck, I made a whole volume so that I can cultivate the side-characters personality and nature.
I appreciate that you guys have your own opinion about the story but please be patient as writing an original plot is hard, the chapters I wrote till now were all originals, with unique historical events taking place within them.
I have also seen people saying that Henrik is too strong, well Tatsuya can just one-shot you out of existence, his mother can control a person brain functions to unimaginable levels. Plus there are many more strong characters within the 'Irregular' world.
Henrik uses [Force] because I didn't want to give him a Sharingan or a system, plus it is a very flexible ability. I gave him [Ea] to fight against Gods and Tatsuya's knowledge, also why shouldn't I.
I even added HxH techniques to make it a bit more interesting, in this world were all kinds of magic and special abilities exist, Henrik's power isn't that unique other than [Force]. I gave the reason to why only the Mikaelson family could use [Force], due to Esther Bloodline.
I explained everything in the story, plus am releasing chapters every day like a machine without its quality dropping (I think so). I even linked discord and frequently upload pictures in it along with an open discussion about the story, I reply to everyone's questions and queries.
I would like if you guys understand what I am trying to convey here. Anyway, two more chapters before the end of this Volume and then to the next one, keeping voting, keeping comment, keeping reviewing.
Stay inside your homes and stay safe.
