Chapter 12

"You can do what now?! That's amazing!" Rain stated, shocked at what Dagger told her. When they got back home, Dagger told his pack everything. His story, his past, his powers. He was thankful that they were understanding, and he could relax his nerves. Peace was keeping quiet, she was keeping herself separate from the others. Dagger approached her moments later, her head turned in his direction.

"It's me," He says, and she acknowledge him with a smile. He sits down next to her, keeping his eyes on his pack as they passed them. "Why did you follow me here?" He asks, too curious for his own good. "Because, I knew you were a good wolf the moment you came to my brother's pack. I hate to say it, but you're twice the alpha my brother will ever be,"

She answered, her head on her paws. Dagger got a good look at her. He could see old wounds, and also a few scars. He could tell that she had been through tough times, and being a blind omega wouldn't help. "You know, just because I'm blind... doesn't mean I can't sense when you're staring at me," she says blankly.

"Sorry. I just can help the fact that you've been---" "Treated like a chew toy? Yeah I know, I don't need or want your pity Dagger. But let's not focus on me, how about we focus on your children? Hm?"

He cleared his throat, unsure of the so say. "My brother won't keep his word," she says. "What?!" "Dagger, even if they succeed in bringing Slash's head to him, he'll kill them both. He never keeps his word when it comes to strangers," She flinched at his tone, but kept herself calm.

"Then why would he bother telling me that?" "Because he wants you to believe him, and not make him look like the merciless mutt that he is. Don't get me wrong I love him dearly, but he hasn't stepped in enough when it came to me," she growled irritatedly.

"When we were pups, he was so overprotective of me. But when he became an alpha, and I was the omega, he really didn't step in anymore. He only did it when he saw it. The wolves would wait until he wasn't around to attack me," she says. Dagger couldn't help but feel sorry for her.

"I can tell you his one major weakest however....me,"

Dagger looked at her surprised. "You?" He says shocked. "Yes, you underestimate him too much Dagger. He really does care about me, more than you think. He'd die for me, that's how much he loves me. I have a plan for you, to get your son and daughter back unharmed,"

"Whatever it takes to get them back. What's your plan?" We go back to my pack, but I'm your hostage. You make a deal with Lightblood, saying that you'll let me go, if he gives you back your children unharmed. I'm giving you permission to harm me if necessary," "I hope it doesn't come to that, but I'll accept your decision,"

"Good, but just to be on the safe side... bring your pack," Dagger raised his eyebrow. "All of them?" "All of them, but you should have your mate and your beta at your side. The others will need to stay hidden from view. Hide in the trees if they can manage, since I already know some of your pack members are dire's,"

"I already know that your brother's territory is at least 3 days travel from Slash's pack. Should we wait?"

"We can leave in the evening, and then keep our distance until we see your kids. No matter how long it takes, we must stay hidden until it is time," "Don't worry Peace, my pack is strong and loyal, they'll never let each other down. That I can promise..."

"So how long have you been in Slash's pack?" Star asked Draco, as they walked through the forest. The had been traveling for almost two days, to pass the time, Star decided to learn more about the young male. He was in the middle, Nikita and Draco to his left, and Zara to his right. She was the one still carrying Slash's head, which she was refusing to give up.

"Since I was a pup, but....he killed my mother," "Why? What'd she do?" "He came to her multiple times, telling her that she was beautiful, strong and healthy. He wanted her to be his mate and give him pups. She obviously refused, but he kept pushing it. Eventually, she snapped back at him and...he killed her," Draco growled uneasily.

"I'm sorry to hear that Draco...I really am. I wish there was something I could've done," Nikita states. She had known Draco before she met Star, so Nikita was the only friend Draco had. Draco smiled at her. "It's ok, now that he's dead...I know my mother will finally be able to rest in peace. But let's talk about you...you left and never came back, why?"

"Because I felt like I belonged somewhere else, mainly to get away from my father after he lost his mind. I'm just glad I found a pack I can call home," she looked at Star and smiles. He smiled back, giving her a wink. "I eventually became friends with Star, who is the next alpha of our pack. Later on, I developed feelings for him; and learned that he felt the same way,"

Draco's faced twisted for a moment before asking, "So...you two are together? Like... together together?" Nikita looked at him puzzled. "Yes, he's my mate and I love him dearly. He has been good to me, fair and proven his love many times over. I wouldn't be here if not for him,"

"Nikita...what about me?" Draco asked, a hint of jealousy in his voice. "What do you mean? What about you?" "I thought...I thought you and I had something going on. Hell, you even said you loved me," "I did love you dearly, as my friend. But...nothing more," "So what I thought we were wasn't true? I'm just your friend?" "No Draco, you're my best friend and that's what counts," "I didn't want to be just friends...I wanted---"

"Enough Draco. Nikita has told you how she feels about you. She doesn't love you, she loves my brother," Zara pipped in, giving him a glare. "You can't change the way she feels about you. She has made up her mind, so therefore...leave it at that," Star nodded, not saying anything to avoid conflict. Draco looked at her sternly, before looking forward.

"Draco, staying in the past won't do you any good. What's in the past is in the past. You need to stay in the present, and focus on those around you. You're a strong, noble wolf. That in itself will get you somewhere in life," Star says reassuringly. Draco snapped his head to look at him, his eyes were full of jealousy. "I don't want or need any advice from you Star, it makes me feel weak,"

Star was taken aback by his behavior. What was his problem? Nikita looked Draco confused. "What's wrong with you?" "Oh what's wrong with me? Oh no there ain't nothing wrong with me, it's just the fact that I like how you run away with this idiot...and then you decided to fall in love with him and join his pack. I mean come on Nikita, what kind of sense does that make?"

"Draco do not be like that. It's not like you could've force her to stay in her pack. It was her choice to leave I mean, I understand that you're jealous...but you can't change the past. You have to think about your future like my sister's telling you," Star informed him, trying to keep peace. Draco scoffed. "I don't want to hear anything you have to say Star you haven't known her as long as I have so therefore I don't want to hear your bullshit,"

Star was getting ba little irritated. "I mean you are aware she left the pack when she was a pup right so pretty much I would have known her as long as you have as well. Look Draco I do not want to start a fight with you you will find a female that will love you back and you will fall in love with just like Nikita did with me hell it took me a few weeks even my father a few weeks to earn her Trust you could tell she was scared any pup in their right mind would have been scared I mean be honest with me would you have been scared?"

"No I wouldn't have been scared I'm not a pathetic little coward like you are and I never will be," Star was getting to his breaking point, how dare this male accuse him of being a coward...when he just killed a wolf that was in his pack to begin with? "Draco... I am not a coward, in fact I am far from a coward. I have shown that I am strong, loyal and brave, and I'm selfless. I make sure my pack is first before anything else, I don't let my feelings take control of me...unlike you. So why are you just trying to push this?"

Draco laughed, as if what he found was funny. "You think this is funny?" "It's not funny, I am dead serious with you, and I'm dead serious with you...you stole Nikita from me, and I don't want to hear any of your arrogance," "Enough Draco! How dare you talk to my brother like that? He is being nothing but kind to you, and all you you're doing is throwing it in his face!

Don't make me don't make me come over there and teach you a lesson..." "Come on now Zara, you couldn't lay a tooth or a claw on me, as a matter of fact I could actually take you down. I'm stronger than I look," Now Zara was getting irritated too, and Star could sense it. "Zara calm down. Please just...calm down," "No I am not going to calm down! He is being a complete asshole, and you're just letting him do that!"

"Well what else do you want me to do? I'm not going to start a fight," "Well that's exactly what he's trying to do!" "She has a point you know. I actually want to fight you, and see how strong of a wolf you actually are..." "Alll of you stop this right now!" Nikita yelled, even she herself was getting frustrated. Star was taken aback by her outburst, he never heard her yell before.

"Draco I am sorry that you're jealous but I have made up my mind! I love Star, and he is the only wolf I will ever love! I love you as my friend, but you will never be nothing more than just my friend. I'm sorry if that bugs you, but that is my decision...not yours. Do I make myself clear?!"

Draco didn't say anything at first, giving her a stern look. "I said do I make myself clear...." she said a little more aggressively. "Yes Nikita...you've made yourself perfectly clear. I'm sorry Star," Draco mumbled looking away. Nikita shook her head, and Star was actually very amused by how she was acting towards him. She definitely had the instincts of an Alpha she was an Alpha's daughter after all. Who knows, maybe she would become a strong alpha female someday. And with him by her side, they would be a perfect Alpha pair.

But deep down, Star didn't know if he would make a good Alph. All his pack members, his father included told him he would make a strong and confident Alpha. But he didn't think being an alpha was his thing. He'd only know when the time came...and if he had to step in and lead, then that's what he would do.

But right now, he needed to focus on getting Slash's decapitated head back to Lightblood, and get back to his home...his pack...his family. He didn't know what the future had stored for them, but all he knew was that he had he had to pave his own future, like every wolf does and should.....
