Secrets of The Outside

Julian walked away from his brother having soothed the worries that were evident about him. Rubbing the back of his head, he wished there was more that could have been said to help the uncertainties that he faced. But in all honesty. There was a good bit that he was even uncertain about. Like the true nature of humans.

Taking a deep breath, Julian walked to one of the few places within the manor that he truly felt at peace. Which was the training room.

It was the only place he could release his frustrations without doing any real damage to someone. It was also a calming place to think.

At least that's what he thought.

He began to stretch out his limbs and muscles as he walked towards the room. It'd been almost two months since he'd done any form of training. He liked the solitude in the training room. Even if there was another in there, they wouldn't bother each other and just keep going on with their own routines.

Smiling to himself as he entered the room, Julian was caught off guard by the sight of a woman with pure white hair doing a butterfly stretch. Taking a deep breath, he felt his mouth beginning to water at the sight before shaking the thought out of his mind and fully entering the room.

The woman would look up, notice Julian taking his place by the weights, and would allow a playful smirk to form on her lips as she slowly stood. Tieing her hair up into a tight ponytail, she slowly made her way over to him, stopping right behind him before shoving her foot right against his back, causing Julian to fly forward into the weights before he turned around and glared at the woman.

"What is your problem, Myst?" Julian would say it in an annoyed tone.

"Not going to say hello to your best friend?" She'd say in a cold tone, almost as if it were shaming his existence.

"Sorry. Hello Myst, how are you doing this lovely evening? " Julian would say, rubbing his face as he stood up straight, standing about half a foot taller than her.

"I'm doing fine actually." Myst would smirk cockily, as she picked up some dumbbells.

"How did your hunt go?" Julian would ask her to get straight to the point as she stopped in mid motion, caught off guard by his question.

Staring at the ground for a moment, she thought to herself whether she should tell him the truth. It's not like he hasn't seen the horrors the real world has to offer. But what she saw would probably give him nightmares.

Myst would say with hesitation, barely noticeable in her voice.

Staring at her for a moment, Julian sighed before crossing his arms. "Tell me the truth, Myst," he'd say in a gentle tone, as Myst fidgeted.

"Come with me to the sauna," she'd say, looking around the room for a moment with a distrusting gaze.

"Excuse me, what?" Julian would all but cough out of shock. "You want me to go into the sauna with you?"

"Don't make it sound so awkward, Julian." Myst would say, beginning to drag him along with her to the sauna room, which was connected to the training room.

"It is very awkward going into the sauna with a woman, Myst." Julian would say while being dragged to the sauna by her.

Myst would throw Julian forward as she closed the door and locked it. She would take a moment to collect herself before beginning to slip her clothes off of her body.

Julian's face would turn bright red as he watched her strip before him. "Why are you removing your clothes..." he'd ask, seemingly not getting the hint.

"So we can talk without being interrupted." Myst would simply say this with her back to him, noticing a fresh-looking injury on her back. His eyes widened at the sight before looking down to the side, taking a deep breath and starting to follow suit. Myst would start the room as they both became naked and covered by a towel.

"S-so why did we have to actually go into the sauna to talk about it?" Julian would stutter and ask the same question he had previously.

"Because. I don't want the others hearing it and starting a war against a small handful of humans." Myst would say, making sure her towel would stay up over her decently sized chest.

"So. How did you get the injury? And why haven't you drank any fresh blood to heal it?" Julian would ask after taking a moment to compose himself.

"The thing is, Julian... I did... it's just whoever attacked me and my group, had weapons to make sure that any damage done to someone like us would last." She'd say as the room began to fill with steam.

Julian would stare at her in shock for a moment before taking a deep breath. "And these humans... were they apart from the hunters' creed?"

"The only group of hunters that'd mess with a clan like ours. The one led by Mathias." She'd confirm it as she watched Julian's eyes go from worried to full of anger. She knew telling him or any other vampire in the clan was going to lead to near-violent tendencies. But she also knew she could talk to Julian and get him to understand.

"And are these humans still among the living?" Julian would ask as he attempted to keep the anger and need for violence out of his voice.

Myst would admit in a low voice as she rubbed her right arm with her left hand slowly. "And that was after he got lucky hits on Jan and Maurice."

"Are they...dead..?" Julian would ask, his voice no longer hiding the anger he felt.

"Yeah... they succumbed to their injuries just as the sun was rising." Myst would say while watching Julian start to stand and go for the sauna door.
