Myst's eyes widened as she listened to what Boris had just said. Why would he want to challenge Julian to such a thing? Unless... He heard everything they had discussed. And had done.
"You bugged the sauna, didn't you, Boris?" She would growl as her shock quickly turned into anger.
"Of course I would bug the place my claimee visits every day. Now come along and I won't have you outed in the morning sun." He'd growl, his eyes not leaving her.
Every cell in her body told her to fight the vampire before her. But she couldn't. Even if she could handle him, it wouldn't remove the claim that was looming over her. Only another male could challenge it and she had forced Julian to promise her that he wouldn't. Now he was going to have no choice but to do so.
"You don't have the authority to get me thrown out of the manor, Boris."
"I do if there is evidence that you killed Maurice and his friend." Boris would say, a cruel smile playing at his lips.
"You're the reason that the humans found my group..?" Myst would ask, the anger she felt turning into disbelief.
"They would have killed you too if I hadn't confirmed your description. Count yourself lucky to still be breathing even right now." Boris would say as he dropped his towel and began to redress himself. "You have no clue how hard it was organizing me and my team to pull this off so Julius would catch me killing his kid."
"You're what..?" Myst would say, fear starting to grow in her voice. He was planning on killing Julian? For what gain?
"Did you claim the girl just to get into a conflict with Julian, Boris? Even if you are just a refugee, starting a fight with the son of a coven leader isn't the brightest idea you could be having." The voice of a woman said from behind Myst, making her jump from the sudden surprise. But also, almost made her attack the sudden arrival of the individual.
A woman with long red hair stepped out of the sauna. She stood covered from head to toe in black combat clothing. Her fists and boots were covered with the stench of blood, as if she had just been involved in some dirty hand-to-hand combat. It was then that Myst began to recognize who the woman before her was.
"Maurice..? I thought you had died." Myst said, feeling a sudden feeling of guilt as she began to notice the faint scar that was across the woman's face.
"How in the seven hells did you survive?!" Boris all but spat, rage leaking out of his voice. "You are supposed to be dead! And most importantly, how did you get into the sauna?!"
"Simple. I slapped Myst's ass and placed a magic symbol there to use as a teleportation beacon. I arrived in the sauna and turned into mist and watched as she had some fun of her own for a change." Maurice would say nonchalantly.
Myst would turn just about as red as Julian had gotten inside of the sauna, having heard what she had to say about it.
"You don't have to say that you watched, Maurice!" She'd say, elbowing her hard, earning a chuckle from the woman.
Boris was all but fuming from rage as he quickly rushed off, taking long, quick strides; heading for the main part of the manor where he took deep, angry breaths.
Myst would stare in horror as he rushed off before quickly getting dressed in her training clothes before glancing back at Maurice. "Why didn't you say anything sooner?"
"Well, I didn't want to interrupt the possibility of you getting it on with the young lord." Maurice would say with a big smile. "Gotta say, your hand technique is pretty decent."
"You saw the entire thing... gods, this is embarrassing." Myst would say, shaking her head as she began to hurry off with Maurice following behind her.
"Hey, you could have gone all the way." Maurice chuckled, running with Myst.
Julian would be getting out of his bath and getting dressed in comfortable clothes. He took a deep breath, rubbing the bridge of his nose. The images of the sauna were still fresh in his mind.
Looking at his ceiling, he didn't know if he should even bring this up to Boris or not. The guilt he felt about doing anything like that with his claim. Not that he had any choices in the matter. Not when she forced herself upon him.
Running his hand through his hair, Julian would hear a knock on his door, drawing him out of his mind. Walking over to the door, he opened it slowly to see his brother at the door, his eyes wide and his skin a good deal paler than usual.
"What is the matter, brother?" Julian would ask with a worried look growing on his face.
"Boris is challenging you to a right of claiming, Julian. Quite publicly as well. He is gaining the attention of everyone in the manor. And he wants to fight you right now." Marcus would say in a fast tone, his words seemingly melding together.
Julian's face paled when he heard what his brother had to say. Boris was challenging him to a right of claiming? But how did he find out about what happened between him and Myst? There was no way she would betray his trust and straight up tell Boris what they had done behind his back. But this was Myst, after all. A woman who, on more than one occasion, challenged tradition.
But there was no way that she would just openly go to Boris and tell him. That's what he hoped for after all.
"Are you going to accept his challenge, Julian?" Marcus would ask his brother, worried about what might happen to his older brother if he did. He didn't know much about them, but what he did know was that they usually ended up with one side dying.
"Yes, Marcus. I am going to accept Boris' challenge and I am going to handle whatever matters come to hand." Julian would say in a stern tone as he began to change into more battle-worthy clothing.
