Rite of Claiming 4

Julian would walk down towards the training room silently. His brother following close behind. He would stop a few steps away from the entrance where other vampires were walking through.

Was this a good idea? He would think to himself for a moment. He knew deep down he wanted to free Myst from the grips of Boris. But was he willing to risk his own life to do so? He was used to risking his own life whenever he went out into the world of the humans. He even risked it for others on multiple occasions.

"Having second thoughts brother?" Marcus would ask from behind, looking towards the circle clearing made by the crowd. It was crazy to think that almost everyone in the clan was present for this soon to be blood bath.

He would notice his mother and father standing before Boris with a sense of anger flowing between the three. And then there was Aurella who apparently observed what was going on.

"No. Just preparing myself for the possibility of having to take someone's life." Julian would say as his personality seemed to seep out of him for a moment. His gaze slowly dimming from holding that emotion within. To being guarded. He wasn't going to allow himself to feel the mans death.

Taking a deep breath Julian would walk into the the Training room. Making his presence known to the entirety of the clan before him.

"Look who took their sweet time showing up. Were you writing your will or something?" Boris would say a cruel smile playing at his lips.

"I was simply preparing myself for the reaction you might have when you lose Boris." Julian would say in a flat tone.

"So. Does that mean you are accepting my challenge then?" Boris would say tilting his head to the side some.

Myst would stare at Julian with pleading eyes. In a attempt to dissuade him from giving into Boris' challenge. Deep down, she wanted to be free of this man. But she didn't want it costing the person she cared about.

Julius would look to Myst seeing the worry and the fear, in her eyes as he slowly turned to his son placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Are you sure you want to do this Julian?" He would ask his son, not in a worried tone. But in a confident one. "Are you sure that you want to take this mans life?"

Julian would look to his father, hearing the words that he spoke, allowing some of the emotion that he was suppressing to crack through. Revealing itself to his father, mother, and most of all. To Boris. Who smiled at the sight of the hidden emotion that the younger vampire was trying to conceal from him.

"My, my Julius. Seems the boy is really starting to have doubts about handling this situation like the man that he is. I may be willing to withdraw the challenge if he agrees to forget that my claim exists." He would say his overconfidence exuding from the air around him. It was so out there that it was almost sickening to those around the group who stood in the middle.

Biting his tongue Julius took a deep calming breath before redirecting his gaze to Boris and then to Myst. Who's horror at the situation was continuing to sky rocket almost through the roof. His gaze would then go back to his son whos emotion was no longer being hidden behind a veil. But being openly shown to the world. As his eyes were now full of burning hatred.

It was a look that caught Julius off guard, as his eyes widened in surprise.

"You know Boris, you really need to remember your place." Julius would hiss at him as his son closed the distance between him and Boris. Standing face to face with him.

"I accept your challenge Boris. And I will make sure that you remember this moment for the rest of your pitiful existence." Julian would say barely being able to contain his anger as Boris just stood there smiling.

Good. Just how things were supposed to go. Boris would think to himself standing his ground before the mere child before him. Now all he had to do was beat him down, and have him grovel before him. Right as he had his life snuffed out.

Right before the tension hit it's breaking point there was a loud slam as the training room doors slammed open. To reveal a woman with dark brown hair similar to that of Julius and Julian. Looking around silently she took a deep breath. Before crossing the distance between where she stood and where the large circular crowd was, she quickly made it next to Julius and the rest of the family.

"Dear brother do you mind telling me what is going on here?" The woman would say to Julius before giving Boris a one over and sneer. "And why in the hell is a Morgan in our home?"

"Boris challenged Julian to a Rite of Claiming." Angelica would say informing Mila of the situation before the womans look of disdain, quickly turned into unbridled anger.

"This fucker did what now?" Mila would growl her anger matching what most of the vampires around them were feeling.

"I know sister. It is the same thing going through most of our minds. But we are going to let things happen in a civilized manner before it gets out of hand." Julius would say in a low tone as Boris continued to stand there with the shit eating grin on his face.

"And we are just going to let Julian do this?" She would question them as she felt the gentle touch of Aurella, which earned her attention rather quickly.

"Don't worry auntie, this is going to go in his favor." Aurella would say, that look of knowing deep within her eyes. With something inside of them that almost suggested that she already knew the outcome of the fight that was to come. But how?
