Rite of Claiming 3

"You can't be serious Julian. Boris is going to tear you into two with his strength alone." Marcus would say to his brother in disbelief of the fact he wished to accept the older vampires challenge.

"I am serious Marcus. This is Myst we are talking about. I am not going to sit back and just accept, that she has to deal with someone that she doesn't want to be with the man she is stuck with." Julian would sigh as he stared at his brother. "Trust me. The last thing I want to do is fight Boris."

"Then don't accept his challenge" Marcus would bluntly say to his older sibling. He truly didn't want to see his brother beaten into the ground, or worse. Possibly die. All over a girl. It was a harsh thought for him to have, and he knew it. Even if he had been raised alongside Myst.

Knowing deep down that she deserved better was a common talk amongst the others in the manor. From the older vampires, to those around Dravens age.

Marcus had heard about the age one can claim a vampire to be their significant other. And it was a age Julian himself was quickly closing in on. For vampires had to manage to survive a whole sixty years as a vampire before they were even allowed to make a claim. And that was a right only reserved for male vampires. And with relentless questioning, Marcus could never get the true reason as to why it was made so.

"You say it like it's that simple Marcus.." Julian would start with before pausing for a moment. "I had to hold my tongue against this entire debacle for nearly four years now marcus. Been holding back my anger from consuming me into murdering the bastard."

Hearing those words was everything Marcus needed to hear as to why, his brother chose to accept the challenge. He truly cared for Myst in that way. More exactly. He loved her.

"You're willing to possibly die over her?" He'd question his brother standing in front of the door. In a attempt to keep Julian from leaving his room.

Julian would sigh as he stared his brother down. "Really Marcus? You're going to try to keep me from leaving my room?"

"I am trying to make you think straight brother." Marcus would chide.

"I am thinking straight brother. This is my choice to make, and I understand the worry coming from you and whoever else chooses to express it to me. It is something that I do indeed have in my mind." Julian would continue saying as he took a few steps closer to his brother.

Marcus would give his brother a doubtful look before sighing. "I am not getting anywhere trying to get through to you aren't I?" He would ask slowly backing away from his brother as he moved every closer to the door. Realizing what he was doing, Marcus tried to stand his ground as his brother stopped before him.

"There is no reason to try to get through to me Marcus. I make this choice with a clear conscious. Trust me brother, this is what I want to do. Now can we please stop this back and forth and let me go shove a foot full of leather up someone's behind?" Julian would say in a comforting tone to his younger brother.

Marcus would hang his head low knowing deep down. That his brother was right. He made this choice without someone trying to convince him to. And here I was. Trying to make him change his mind. To change his choice.

Taking a step aside so his brother could walk out of the room. Marcus kept his gaze low for a moment. Until he felt the familiar grip of his brothers hand on his shoulder.

Looking up, he saw a sincere look on Julian's face. It was a look that didn't have any fear anywhere on it.

"Thank you for caring about me Marcus. Never loose the ability to do that okay?" Julian would suggest to him before walking out of the room and down the hall.

Boris stood in the middle of the training room surrounded by the crowd of the Morave-Xeres vampires. He was surprised that he had managed to obtain quite the crowd. Especially knowing that they'd watch one of their own die. Maybe they are into that kind of entertainment.

"What are you expecting to have happen Boris? A grand Victory against a child?." Maurice would question softly.

"I'm expecting you all to know not to try to steal the woman away from a Morgan." He would retort his voice still of anger.

"You are very much the jealous type aren't you?" Maurice would then ask as she stared Boris down her arms crossed behind her back.

"It's called keeping to tradition. Not like you two would understand that." Boris would growl as he kept his eyes peeled on the entrance way. Where the occasional vampire would enter just to experience the death match. His eyes would widen the moment he saw Julius enter the training room with his daughter and advisor in tow. This was certainly not apart of his plan. He was supposed to be indisposed for this to work out any. He would need to improvise now.

Stopping just a few steps away from Boris, Julius would stare him down with a leveled stare. His mind full of ways he would eviscerate the vampire before him. Just for threatening his first child like this. But he knew it wasn't his place. Not yet anyway.

"I hope you understand the rules of a Rite of claiming." Julius would say bluntly to him keeping the emotion in his eyes hidden.

"I know if I lose I cannot attempt anything with who my claim was, unless I want to die that is." Boris would say slowly.

"And?" The voice of Angelica would ask from next to Julius. With her hands on her hips and a look of pure anger in her eyes. She was definitely the over protective parent.
