Run Before The Light

Julian would restlessly stand before the door. Looking out of it worriedly as he saw the first rays of daylight begin to push above the horizon. What was taking those girls so long that they were taking longer than two minutes? Then again. He couldn't blame them for the time they needed to prepare for something like this. Especially when they knew that combat was going to be inevitable. He couldn't blame them for trying to get into their hunt gear, as quickly as they could. Tapping his foot, he was starting to get antsy. As he continued to watch the suns rays start to become bolder.

"Sorry it took is so long. We had to grab a few things." Myst would say sliding down the railing of the stairs, landing before Julian as she held out a long sword to him. "You are going to need this if you are gonna continue fighting Boris."

Julian would take the sword from Myst. Feeling the weight of it in his hand. He would notice that Myst's hand lingered on the blade, holding it in a tight grip. Her hand almost shaking from the force she was putting upon the blade.

"What is it Myst?" Julian would ask looking at the girl with a raised brow. Deep down Julian wanted to rush ahead and get this situation handled as quickly as he could. But there was no way to do that with her, seeming to doubt herself.

"It's nothing...just zoned out for a moment." Myst would blatantly lie as she released the silvered blade.

Julian would slowly raise a brow at the woman, not really sure if she was lying to him or not. More than anyone. He knew Myst would more often dodge her issues than be up front about them. And that usually ended up with her performing a mission without flaw. Somehow.

Shaking his head he decided not to push the envelope on the situation. Due to the fact that time wasn't on their side at the moment. And that it would take him forcing her to talk to actually get anywhere.

Julian would take notice of the hilt of the blade in his hands, causing his eyes to widen a fair degree. Realizing the blade that he held in his hands he would glance to Maurice and Myst in disbelief.

"You guys stole the blade that the founder of this coven himself forged?" Julian would ask hardly managing to contain his disbelief any. The fact that they had grabbed it without permission was something else entirely. But handing it to him and dragging him into the punishment that would ensue if it were found out that he held such a weapon.

To their coven this was one of the most important artifacts that they held. That and a gift given to his grandmother by the goddess Minerva herself. Whether he believed that or not was a completely different story though. For it was near impossible to grasp a god having anything to do with a vampire. Then again there was the Morgan coven that seemed to have their hands in the pockets of the Norse gods.

"It is the only weapon of any quality that I thought would be wise to even use against Boris when you went to fight him." Myst would say staring him down with a defiant look. "If you fought him with the knives you keep on your person. There would be no way you would leave that fight in a stable condition. So I grabbed the only weapon that could take the beating, and deal the needed damage."

Her words alone made him realize just how against the odds he would be if he just fought with the knives he had. It didn't even cross his mind that he would be at a disadvantage being close to Boris for the entire fight.

He was thankful for her consideration. Even if it resulted in her breaking the rules of the house. Although if he could get away with making it look as pristine as it had been, then he shouldn't really have to worry about it much. Hopefully.

"I did try to warn her against it myself. But you know how stubborn Myst could be. She couldn't wait to get her hand around a hilt of something hard again." Maurice would say in a teasing tone that was aimed at both of the young vampires. Earning a flush of red from the two of them.

"This is not the time for such comments Maurice. Right now it is the time to go and save my sister." Julian would say strapping the blade to his belt and letting it hang. It surprised him how weightless the blade felt. Almost to the point that it didn't seem to even be there in the first place. How had the man made this blade?

"Right, right my bad. Just thought a little tease would be useful in a situation like this." Maurice would say walking towards the door and looking out. "We sure did take much longer than anticipated. My bad Julian. How about we remedy that with running like we are about to burn into a pile of flames?"

"My thoughts exactly Maurice. You ready for this Myst?" Julian would ask standing next to the door waiting for his friends response.

"Yeah. I am ready. Let's haul some ass." Myst would say standing between the two vampires. Readying herself to run like her life depended on it. Well in this case. It actually would if she was slow enough. Shaking her head some she would push the memories that kept trying to force their way into the front of her head. Trying to take up all of her concentration.

All three of the vampires would look at each other slowly nodding before going and running out into the open morning air. Which held a cool breeze with it. As the three would run trying to keep in pace of each other as they ran. Trying to outrun the sun with the mere minutes that they had left before it spelled their end.
