Farther Down We Go

Aurella and Luna would continue running through the caverns of the cave system they were in. Running down the incline going father down under the earth, farther away from the threat of the sunlight. And closer to the threat imposed upon them by Boris. For as they ran they began to take notice of plenty of ghastly looking bugs beginning to make their way in the direction of the two.

Now these weren't the common house hold fly or ant. No these were bugs that looked like they were dragged out of a video game and let loose upon the world. It was something that would let loose the fear of bugs anyone would have, and then take it stomp on it several times. And make a whole new fear out of it. Fear of giant freaking bugs.

Although it would be way too easy for the two to escape if there weren't things like this in their path. For Boris isn't that stupid to let them go without attempting to get them. Without attempting to use his defenses to capture, or worse. Kill the two if the chance were to present itself. This was the reality that the two girls faced before them. The two of them against a army of giant bugs.

"Why did his ability have to deal with giant bugs!" Aurella would yell as she ran beside Luna while being chased by the army of bugs. Her muscles were beginning to cry out from the active use. And her lungs were beginning to burn as if there were a fire within her chest. It was all beginning to prove too much for the girl. But she had to keep pushing forward, she had to keep moving and ensuring that she didn't fall behind. For she knew what would happen if she did.

"Can't you use the flames to attack them?!" Luna would yell with a heavy breath. All the running seeming to begin to take its toll on the younger girl.

"I told you I am not that good at it! And it would possibly only make them angrier with us than they already are!" She would yell in response before pushing herself harder until they both ended up in what seemed to be a large cavern within the cave system. "At least we have a big open space to run around in now."

"Aurella you have to get better at this spell casting thing! Luna is now way capable of fighting giant nasty bugsies!" Luna would yell looking to Aurella with a scared look in her eyes. Which was a complete 180 from what she had been just moments earlier. A part of Aurella wanted to tease her with that for a moment, as due pay back for getting her dress taken from her. But there was a time and a place for these things, and the time and the place wasn't here.

"I know, I know. I just need a cha-" She would be interrupted by a massive bug dropping from the ceiling slashing her across her abdomen. Sending a flame of pain shooting through her body. Standing there frozen in shock and in pain. Aurella would look down at her abdomen, where fresh blood was beginning to seep through. Staining the dress with the dark mass of blood.

The pain she felt, it hurt. Far more than anything she had experience in the time she would have to train against the others. No. This was a real instance where she had to fight for her life. For her survival. For if she couldn't do that. Then both she and Luna would die.

Luna taking notice to what had just happened. Would go and beginning beating down upon the bug with the torch. Smacking it with the flames and the stick. And effectively squashing it in the process. Normally if she were a normal human being, she wouldn't have even been able to beat through its hard exterior. But as a vampire who had recently acquired fresh blood. It was a completely different story.

"Aurella! Are you okay?!" Luna would yell beginning to take notice at the army of bugs that had been following them. This wasn't any time for them to be standing around in shock. This was the time for them to run. But how was she supposed to do that when the girl she was with was beginning to bleed out?

"I-It hurts....A whole lot." She would say in a low tone as she touched her hand to her cut and saw the redness of her blood. Just how deep had this bug cut her?

Looking around, Luna would begin to take notice of a whole lot of bigger bugs beginning to make themselves known to the girls. Some standing up to roughly her own height. This was beginning to turn far less than good.

"Aurella we are going to need to run. For I can't burn these bugsies!" Luna would yell grabbing the shocked girl by the hand. "Wake up and run!"

Run. There was that word again. The word that's all but describes who she is as a person. Someone who runs. Someone who can't face down their issues and just accepts them for what they are. But Aurella didn't want to run. She didn't want to give into the pain she felt. She wanted to be more than she had been. Like her brothers. Like her friends. She didn't want to be a bystander anymore.

"Do you wish to change that then?" A faint voice would echo from deep within her head. "Do you wish to be able to be more, to do more than you have? To be what people need you to be?"

Not questioning the words she was hearing, nor their intent. Aurella would open her mouth to slowly speak the words the voice wanted to here. "I do." She would say in a low utterance. As she felt something begin to change within her. Almost as if some part of her had been switched on. Looking down to her injury, she would see that her injury had steam beginning to emit from it. And the pain beginning to fade completely. Just what had she done?
