Aurella gaped at her brother as he dropped the news upon her of where they would be going. It wasn't a trip going to the next town, city, or state. No this was a trip across the pond. All the way to another country. One that she was only familiar with through books and manga. Which didn't really do too much to help be familiar with such a place. But it was enough to kind of familiarize herself with the place.
But hearing that she was going to Japan. It was enough to floor her. Even more due to the timing of such a thing. It had only been a handful of days since the incident had happened. And so suddenly they were being sent off? There had to be more to it than just to travel. And that is what she wanted to know.
"When and why are we going to Japan, Julian? I only just officially began my training. And you and Myst are still recovering from your injuries." Aurella would speak skeptically as she tried to guess her fathers reasoning.
"Well...There are two reasons for us going to Japan. Three if you consider the fact we can spend some time being somewhat normal. But the first reason is that, dads brother is in Japan and has been for several years now. And dad wants us to go there and spend time amongst another vampire coven and learn their ways. And to train all of us in different aspects, to heighten our skills in a way." Julian would say explaining to his sister. "The duration of our stay is still rather undetermined. But it would be best if we made the most out of it. Since when do we get to basically be tourists?"
"You seem...rather relaxed about all of this." Aurella would say staring her brother in the eyes. Trying to figure out just what had hit him in the head, to make him act this way.
"Oh trust me. Me and dad had our back and forth about it. He was even the one who said we should enjoy the country while we are there." Julian would say rubbing the back of her head.
"There is a but. Isn't there?"
Nodding. Julian would take a deep breath. "Dad is postponing us joining the larger vampire community until he knows that we are ready for the risk that doing so would bring forth." Julian would say "So all though we can go there to rest. We would have to spend most of our time training and making sure we can handle whatever comes our way."
Upon hearing the real reason for them going to Japan. Aurella would take a moment to let that information sink in. For the thought of their father not being able to supply them with the training they need for such a event. It was something she honestly found unnerving.
Taking a deep breath. She would run through all the thoughts that appeared within her mind. Sorting through the ones that weren't nearly panic inducing, before staring back to her brother.
As Aurella went to speak. She was cut off by the door falling open, and Luna laying on the ground staring up to the two blinking. "Hi" Luna would smile sheepishly at them. Which even then. Had to have been one of the most adorable things Aurella had seen.
"I am guessing privacy is something you haven't learned really. Isn't it Luna?" Julian would ask staring down at the young vampire before him. Before sighing and helping her up.
"Nope. The Luna doesn't even know what that word means!" Luna would say as she dusted herself off.
"You didn't have parents around to teach you?" Julian would ask pointedly. Before taking notice in her obvious flinch. And pain instantly entering her eyes.
Biting her lip. Luna didn't know how to react to such a question. Except for, by just simply playing it off. "The Luna spent a long time living in a fridge box." She would say forcing her voice not to break. Keeping its upbeat tone. Even though her eyes still betrayed how she felt.
Realizing his mistake. Julian struggled to find out what it was he could do. Or should do. But seeing the raw pain in her eyes. He knew he had hit a soft spot. One he never meant to hit.
"R-right...Sorry Luna. Didn't me-"
"It is okay! The Luna forgives you!" Luna would say cutting him off before he could push any further into territory that would lead to her breaking down into tears. She had to stay strong. "By the ways. When are we going to Japan?"
"We...we will be leaving in a few days. Once we have been given more time to recoup." Julian would answer before looking over and taking notice of Maurice. Who held a look of sadness in her eyes as she stared at the girl. Before switching her gaze to him.
"Do you want me to let Myst know?" Maurice would ask in a low tone as she herself fully entered the room.
"If you would please do so. And don't worry about training my sister for the next couple of days before we go. Just take the time to rest and physically be ready for whatever we are going to be walking into." Julian would say nodding to Maurice before looking to Luna. Who seemed to mentally have clocked out temporarily. "And maybe take Luna to get whatever she wants from the kitchen."
Those last few words were somehow enough to bring Luna back to reality. "Kitchen? Does that mean the Luna gets to have those sweet thingies?" She would ask as the look of pain immediately left her gaze.
"Yes Luna. You can have all the sweet things you can stuff inside of you. Just don't go too overboard now." Julian would say. But before she could hear the last few words he had spoken. Had already rushed over to Maurice. Grabbing her by the hand and speeding down the hall. Faster than he had seen anyone rush towards a kitchen. Man, that girl sure did like her sweets.
