It's been a few weeks since then, Artoria has changed completely, she seems to have put a mental block on herself.
She acts indifferent to almost everything and has put a barrier between her and others.
I know she has done this to help distance herself from others to become a 'true' king.
She wants to separate he emotions so she can always act for the kingdom and the 'greater good.'
And you know what I say to that,
"Bullshit!"
I'm definitely gonna change that!
Over days I spent with her I really took a liking to her. She has a very fun personality to be around and I enjoy our interactions! She was truly the first friend I made here.
——
One day I met up with Merlin again and we discussed a few things.
We discussed about all sorts of things from me asking about help with magic to Artoria's changes in behavior.
Soon another topic came up, Devils.
"The Devils a want in on this. After the fall of Rome the church has mostly collapsed in Britton."
"So?"
He sighs before continuing, "The Devils plan to entice a coup, and after taking over the government they can prevent the spread of Christianity."
My eyes widen at his declaration before I follow up with, "Is your source reliable?"
He scoffs, "Would I tell you otherwise?"
I shake my head in understanding before my eyes become firm in resolve,
"Very well."
If I want to survive in the world I must become stronger. I can't sit around and practice all day and expect to take down who ever is in my path.
I need experience.
And now I know just where to get it.
——
Merlin stared off at Arios' fading back before smirking and saying,
"Good lad."
——
I decide to help Artoria in her role of uniting Britton under Camelot.
She is definitely not equipped to take down stronger devils while uniting Britton at the same time.
She hasn't even formed the knights of the round yet.
But me? I definitely can, shit if I can't, then no human can.
I have two Longinus class sacred gears, Avalon, and the most famous holy sword to ever exist.
So I definitely can.
I just need to try not to die along the way.
——
Sure enough a revolution began all most as soon as the kingdom was formed.
To the north the Kingdom of Lott was formed, under the rule of who? Welp it's pretty obvious, King Lott.
He quickly rebelled while the Kingdom of Camelot was still laying it foundations, he convinced a multitude of other nobles to join him in his pursuit against Artoria.
The Britton Civil War was quickly underway, as resources are still a bit of pain to acquire, most aggressions have been relatively low skirmishes, but both kingdoms are surely building up their military.
I told Artoria I have some things to take care of and left, she looked a bit saddened by my leave but probably expected it. I decided not to inform her of what I was going to do.
I swiftly left Camelot and headed to my next direction,
The Kingdom of Lott.
The Kingdom of Lott will surely develop quicker under the assistance of devils. I need to strike before they become too large.
If I do nothing, history may not end up as intended as I am unsure if things will be the same, the second I saw Artoria I became unsure. Was she truly a male in the first place or was she always female? I'd usually say it doesn't matter, but now? It truly does, if she was always female then everything is alright but if she was originally male, who knows what else changed?
The only way to keep myself safe is to become stronger.
Also, might as well get some brownie points with big G, am I right?
