Fallout

Will returned home, his heart still beating from experiencing the battle between the two 1 star warriors. He saw that a large sum of money was transferred to his account from an anonymous account and sighed. His work was finally done and he earned a good deal from it.

He slammed into his bed and fell asleep. The memories of being carried around like a ragdoll and being a helpless tool played in his mind repeatedly. "I want to get stronger. I have to get stronger!" Will thought with grit teeth as he went to sleep.

The next few days were uneventful, other than the constant pain from practicing the Clean Body Tablet's exercises and slowly melting away the life wheel into a golden liquid that fused with his body.

Will was gradually able to perform not just the first of the ten exercises but also the second. His breathing pattern was also improving. Over the next two weeks, as he could hold onto the exercise for longer periods, he felt the energy of the Sun enter his body and attack the life wheel, gradually melting it away.

Will noticed that his body was getting healthier. His face rosier and no longer pale and his thin skinny body was finally showing some signs of muscle growth. He was glad that he didn't feel the immediate looming death over him as he did before.

Since he had a lot of money right now, he didn't work. He simply practiced the exercises as much as he could. As more of the life wheel began to melt away, the pain was only beginning to get worse. The feeling of burning when the molten liquid of the Life Wheel fragments fused into his cells was increasingly becoming more and more intolerable.

Will had thought that over time he would get used to the pain, but reality had turned opposite ways.

"The more the Life Wheel melts and fuses into the body, the more I feel like my body is struggling against it. The pain is unbearable, but I cannot stop. This is my only chance to survive." Will thought with a painful determination in the face of a life and death crisis.

He also discovered that his appetite was reaching incredibly uncontrollable levels as he was consuming almost five Grade E nutrition packs a day. Usually a single nutrition pack had enough nutrients to supply the body for the entire day. The contrast was too stark.

"This process is extremely energy intensive. Indeed, that is probably why Gilgamesh was unchallenged. He probably reached his hegemonic strength by monopolizing all the resources in the city of Ur." Will thought as he recollected the memory of Gilgamesh that he was intimately familiar with as if it were his own.

"Just what exactly is that box? And how did my parents get a hold of it? It actually allowed me to visit the memories of a person in the past." Will wondered.

At this moment, he was checking the news and was shocked. The Newman group was declaring a war on Oa's Black Market!

Will raised an eye. Was this because of the ship he helped steal a couple of weeks ago? At this moment, he suddenly received a call from Bull, which made his heart drop again.

"Lad, I have another job for you." Bull said with a laugh. "That Newman Group doesn't know what's good for it!"

Will shook his head. "Boss, the last job was too dangerous and I already repaid you. Please find someone else."

"Hmph. Do you think you can reject me? What do you think woll happen if I accidentally leak who hacked the cargo ship's mainframe?" Bull snorted.

Will's eyes flickered as a flash of hatred appeared and disappeared in an instant. He knew that he had to work for Bull because he had no choice in the matter at all. But Will would not forget this matter.

"Lad, don't be angry. I won't short change you. The payment this time will be good. Along with money, I'll also introduce you to someone who managed to survive a broken Life Wheel." Bull tantalized.

"What?" Will was shocked. "A person could survive with a broken life wheel?" Even though he had found and was working towards a solution for the matter, he was still interested in knowing how this person managed to achieve what all medical science considered impossible.

"Well kid? Aren't you interest now?" Bull laughed out loudly. "Come to my office today evening. I will tell you what you need to do."

Will sighed. But knowing he had no choice in the matter, he did as he was told and went to visit the drunken master of the black market to cooperate on his scheme.

"Oh? You actually look healthier today!" Bull said with surprise as he saw Will. Once again, without any permission he gripped Will's hand to check his pulse as Will powerlessly watched. He was too weak and he couldn't retaliate.

Bull's face turned serious as he looked at Will. "Your life wheel has deteriorated to such a terrifying extent. Is this the rosiness of life before it evaporates? You are truly pitiful." He shook his head. "May be that man can help you out."

He then turned to look at the other three people in the room. When Will saw this he was shocked! These three people were also 1 star warriors. The Black Market actually had four 1 star warriors controlling it!

Bull saw Will's reaction and smiled with satisfaction."Haha, that puny Newman Group with its two remaining 1 star warriors dares to declare a war on my black market! It is time to show them that we are not one to be messed with!"

He then turned towards Will. "However, we not only want to ruin Newman group's pillars of support. We want to completely hollow them out. In this We need you to do your hacking. You will extract all their secret research and designs that they have been manufacturing while we launch an overt attack on the Newman group."

"I'm an ordinary person and I am weak. How do you expect me to do that?" Will asked in frustration. "I don't have the ability to sneak into a high security headquarters."

Bull snorted. "Obviously, I know that. You will be taken in by someone I planted in the Newman Group. Get ready, tomorrow night is the moment we strike."

Will sighed. The Black Market was strong, but who knew if the Newman group was hiding its aces as well? He really didn't want to get entangled in such a planetary scale war between two powerful factions. But unfortunately, he had no say in the matter.
