Chit Chat

Amber lied on the ground next to her grand mother for hours before Saturn rode down to get them. He said nothing as he stepped out of the car, with a quick swoop of his arms he picked up lee and lied her down across the back and pulled a blanket over her to keep her warm. Then he scooped up amber and placed her in the passenger seat she was still shaking from the whole ordeal. He started the decent up the road to the house, keeping his gaze forward he said only one thing to amber.

"Salkie,"

"w-what is that," amber said looking at her grandfather

"that is its name," he said not looking away from the road "Salkie, or better know to you as the darkness."

"what h-how did you," amber stuttered

"because amber," he now turned his gaze to her "it was once mine."

"y-you mean that," amber now dumb founded

"yes before you were cursed with the shadow i was," he said letting out a heavy sigh " i sealed it away in a locket that held a crystal strong enough to hold Salkie in it, but i see now that it wasn't strong enough."

"well i-it was" amber said looking out the window " i-i just released him from the locket,"

"ah i see you cursed yourself," Saturn replied still without showing any emotion " i was hoping that all the rumors of you seeing and talking to shadows was fake but it turns out to be true," he said looking in the rear mirror at lee's unconscious body."

"i-i'm sorry i d-didn't mean for any of this," amber said clenching her fists, "h-how can i get rid of it."

The car came to a stop as the pulled into the driveway Saturn turned off the engine and looked at amber, "that is the problem amber," with the look of sorrow in his old eyes he hugged her, "the locket was the only way to trap it, now theirs no way to stop it," tears ran down his face as he tried his hardest to keep himself together, "this is all my fault not yours amber, i should have never gone through with the deal,"

"g-grandpa what do you mean" amber said confused as she let her grandfather sob on her shoulder. "what deal?"

Pulling himself together whipping his face, "come on let me show you what i mean," he said getting back into his seat he pulled an old faded piece of paper out of the visor above him, " i fret the day i would have to go back there but i didn't think i would be so soon or with you" he said sighing unfolding the paper to reveal a crude drawing of a childish map.

"um grand pa that looks like a group of 10 year old's drew it you sure you know what your doing" amber said nervously eyeing him and then the map.

"no i don't know what i'm doing but this map leads us to where it all started " he said as he started up the car and began to drive up an old foot trail. "hold on this trail hasn't been used in decades" he said as the car bounces side to side going up the rocky overgrown dirt path.

"gha g-grand pa be careful," amber pleaded as she gripped the door handle hard and tried to keep herself grounded. then she heard a loud thump fallowed by a low moan "oh crap grand ma is still here" she said looking back to see her grandmother now lying on the floor.

"s-saturn whats going on" lee moaned sitting up and looking around til she noticed the childish map, "saturn where did you get that" she said with a mix of anger and fear in her voice. "y-you better not be going where i think you are."

"i have no choice lee i must Salkie has gotten to our grand daughter" he said keeping his eyes locked on the road.

"h-how i thought you sealed it in a locket 20 years ago how did it escape" lee said fear in her eyes as tears started to run down her face, "i thought the horrors were over i thought we were free from its hell."

"lee calm down Hun i will fix it like i always do" Saturn said looking at lee through the review mirror " as for the locket amber broke it so we will have to find another way to stop salkie but don't worry we will find a way just like we always do right lee." he said trying to smile to help calm down his old battered wife but deep inside he wasn't even sure how to approach Salkie but he couldn't worry about that now since they have reached their destination, the ruins of what looked to be an old factory coming to a rocky halt he instructed lee to say in the car and told amber to fallow him as he got out of the car and started to walk towards the ruins.
