Field Test
It was late one night at the old abandoned factory, two people had been using the old factory for three years, that's when it all happened. One of them was a forty-seven-year-old man called Volgan, he was an old military scientist until he tripped a landmine leading his fellow men into battle to salvage anything they could. He survived the explosion but was dispatched from the military, after being dispatched he was then thrown on the streets where he lived for about two years before he met Lobi. Lobi was an assistant nurse who was working at a hospital until she was fired for trying to give unneeded surgery to patients and stealing body parts from the diseased and hiding them in the freezers.
It was early one morning when they met, Volgan was busy dumpster diving for robotic parts and Lobi was taking out the trash.
"Umm.... Excuse me, sir, but what are you doing in my garbage" Lobi questioned with a dumbfounded and scared look.
"Where is it? Oh! My apologies, Ma'am" Volgan says, bowing. "My name is Volgan the great scientist, and I was just looking to see if you had and robotic parts that you would have thrown away," he said looking at her.
"Oh …" said a little surprised Lobi. "Umm, I'm Lobi. And no. Sorry. I keep all my spare parts just in case I— ummmm— I never mind," she says trying to hide how scared she is. (How can I be so stupid I almost gave it away, damn it lobi you need to keep your mouth shut do you want to go to another mental hospital) she thinks to herself.
"Hey do you want to help me with something," says Volgan breaking her concentration.
"Umm I'm sorry I have ummm (come on Lobi think of a good excuse) ummm I have to go to the gym," she says hastily.
"In that?" says Volgan looking at her clothes.
"Ummm (damn it, oh well let's see what he wants) what is it that you need," she says scared.
"Follow me," he says grinning.
So Lobi going against her gut feelings and fallows Volgan to what seems to be an old abandoned factory.
"Over here" beacons Volgan.
Lobi follows to see Volgan holding a piece of wire fencing back, revealing a small opening.
"come on crawl trough," says Volgan,
Lobi follows his orders and crawls under the fence and to her surprise she was inside the old factory, but even more surprising was the gigantic metal structure that was placed in the middle of the room.
"Wh-what is that?" she says awestruck
"That my dear is a portal that I have been building," Volgan says triumphantly.
"What is it used for?" says Lobi still staring at the portal.
"Well my dear it is meant to allow us to cross to another dimension parallel to ours... but sadly I can't find the last piece of equipment that I need," he says looking at her
"What is the last piece that you need," she says.
"You," he says.
"Wh-what do you mean by me?" she says backing away from him.
"No, not like that I need a lab assistant." he says "someone like you, a person who has had experience in the medical field. So will you…..Lobi?"
"Ummm," she says (No No No Never Will I help you, you madman) she thinks "Sure what could go wrong," she says and shrugs her shoulders.
So they worked together for about 3 years, and they were in for a big surprise one day.
"Umm Volgan come see this!" shouted Lobi.
"What, what is it?" he said rushing over.
"Look we have enough energy to turn on the portal," she says pointing to the portal.
"What really!" he says surprised.
"Yes," she says, "shall we start it up?"
"Of Course, start her up!" he says.
So Lobi goes to the main controls and turns on the main power.
"Umm sir you might want to come over here," she says "just so you don't get exploded…heh."
"Ahh yes, your right Lobi," he says trying to hide his anger after being reminded of the military incident.
"Ah shit, Lobi I need you to go and pull that lever so we can start the machine, ok?" he says.
"Yes sir," she says not thinking twice that the lever was already pushed.
Now as Lobi goes out of the safe room Volgan locks the door. Lobi walks over to the lever and is surprised that it is already pushed, then it hit her it was a trap. Lobi turns and runs back to the safe room only to find the door locked, crying to be let back in Volgan then pushes the activate button bringing the portal to life with a loud roar.
"PLEASE SIR LET ME IN!" she shouts.
"Sorry can't hear you," he says and then cranks the portal's power all the way up. "Have fun."
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" shouts Lobi as the portal's power slowly sucks her in.
As the portal sucks her in it also sucks itself in with it destroying everything Volgan and Lobi had worked so hard on for 3 years. As Lobi goes through the portal spirit-like creatures fly all around her and then fly into her head possessing her turning her mad. Then all the sudden the other end of the portal revealing the parallel world, an Ink like World. Lobi then smashes into the ground unconscious. Then a tall black figure appears out of the ground and lifts her up and takes her to a large castle-like mansion.
