Malachi

Malachi was like any regular 13-year-old boy, he lived with his mom and dad in a nice neighborhood with their grandfather. It was a late summer afternoon when it happened, Malachi was sitting next to his grandfather.

"Gampa D?" Malachi asked? "Why do you wear that helmet all the time."

"You mean this thing?" he says tapping his hand on the helmet.

"Ya," Malachi said.

"Well it's a long story," his grandfather says looking at the sunset, "A long time ago when I was your age I was walking with your great grandma down the street to go to the pool. That when your great grandma got shot, her final words were for me to take this," he says pulling a necklace out from his pocket, the necklace had a purple gem hanging from it. "At the time I didn't understand why but now," he says clenching the gem in his hand, "that this string and rock would change my life."

"What do you mean grandpa D?" Malachi questions?

"Well, you see after she was shot I was knocked out with some sleeping gas and later woke up to a bunch of kids around me. All were different, one wore a blue mask another wore a skull and the other wore a pendulum. Their leader was a girl with white hair, a red scarf and wore a black dress, her name was Shadow. They took me with them on their great adventures, they all had powers too. I didn't though so I felt like I was holding them back when we went on adventures because I was to slow or I couldn't fly and so on. But one night while I was asleep I had a nightmare where I saw my friends die horrible deaths for me, then I witnessed my own death."

"Really grandpa," Malachi said surprised!

"You darn tootin I did," he says still looking off into the distance, "but the worst has yet to come. When I woke up from the nightmare I notice that my left had had a purplish blackish spot on it, I just ignored it and continued on with my day." then Malachi's grandfather froze in place.

"Gampa," Malachi says poking his grandfather, "GAMPA!"

"Head inside now," Malachi's grandfather says looking into the distance.

"Why," Malachi says confused?

"I SAID GET INSIDE NOW, GRAB YOUR FATHER TOO!" he says angrily!

"Bu-" Malachi starts.

"GO," he snaps!

As Malachi rushes insides he hears this high pitch ringing.

"Malachi, malachi.." his mother yells!

"Yes mother," he yells looking around the house.

Just the sudden Malachi felt a warm feeling on his back and a bright light illuminated the whole room. Then everything went black.

"Ughhhhh" moaned Malachi "where am I?"

"Good you're awake," said a strange woman.

"Who are you," he says?

"Why me," she says "I am your aunt."

"Where are my parents," Malachi say looking frantically around?

"Oh sweety" she exclaims "your parents, they died from an asteroid hitting your house it was a miracle that you survived."

"What," he shouts " no I don't believe you, you liar liar liar!"

"Whats going on," a doctor asks as he runs into the room?!"

Malachi keeps screaming while the doctor talked to his aunt.

"Is he ok to come home with me?" she said concerned?

"He should be fine, here give this to him it should knock him out for the ride home," he says handing the pill to her.

"Thank you Phantom," she says " you have been a big help to this family."

"You have no idea," he smirks "have a great day luna."
