Chapter 14

Luther chuckled slightly, "when we originally met, Ty kept talking about you like you were his wife. He spoke of you so lovingly that I was sure that you had been together."

"After knowing each other for centuries, we are closer than any partners could ever be. That is one thing I fear and that is why I try to keep Ty away from me every time I leave. If he is found by my mate, he will be killed in an instant. Although Ty did not help me leave, he aided me in staying away. In the pack, being so close to and being alone with a first is punishable by death. My mate would not give a second thought before killing Ty and everyone else. Even Collin and Chris are not safe as he is obsessed with power and control. That is why I wanted you to stay behind," I whispered as I looked to Cade who stared at me.

I looked over in relief as the door opened and all 3 men walked back in. I could not meet the gaze of Collin since he looked as though he would still cry.

Ty came over to me and took my hand, "we discussed it and all agree that if he was successful in creating a child, we will claim it as mine."

I pulled my hand away from his as I scowled at him, "I will not let you do that! It is like sentencing you to death. If he ever found out, he would send everyone and everything it to kill you."

Ty smirked, "he will kill me either way."

I stood and hugged him, "I just hope it did not happen." I buried my face into his chest so that he only heard me, "but I have never heard of firsts being unsuccessful after such an intense time."

He squeezed me to him, "don't think about it. If we do not mention it, it will be forgotten."

I squeezed his shirt in my hand so that I would not cry, "I can never forget, Ty. It was unimaginable and I am in so much pain."

He leaned down to me, "do you want to try to rest?"

I shook my head as I met his eyes, "he is there."

He sighed before kissing my head and letting me go. He looked around the room to everyone. "Alright, we need to decide our new plan. We need to decide our roles, back stories, and begin building our new lives."

I sat on the bed next to Cade as the men began discussing. "You will not be convinced to go back?"

He nodded with a smile, "you can't get rid of me."

I sighed, "then you need to know the process. Whenever we start over, we must become new people. It is the only way to successfully hide. We will change our names, appearance, occupations, and social appearance. You must ignore all that you left as it is no longer your life. This is not an easy thing to do, well the first few times. But there is one rule, we can know each other's true name but can never say it around anyone else."

I looked to the group and waited until a pause occurred. "We need to go outside of our comfort zone." Everyone looked to me, "we can't have our names relate to our true ones. El and Ellen are too close and may cause issues. We have been caught," I said as I looked everyone in the eye. "I was found and will be hunted more than ever. Things are going to have to change drastically this time in order to keep us alive. I have a plan that none of you will enjoy, but it's our only shot." Everybody looked to me with confusion and concern as I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before looking back to them. "In order to prepare for what may happen, I will be living alone this time."

Chris rushed over to me in anger, "you can't be serious! We are supposed to be at your side always! It's our duty."

I stared him down as my eyes flashed a gold, "Chris," I growled, "You clearly have forgotten your place. All of you have." I looked at each of them as I felt my eyes turn completely gold for just a moment. "As a first, I'm the only Alpha in this pack. I don't want to separate either, but this is our only chance. Everyone needs to follow my command or this will never work. I am the only one that knows him and I am the only one that can keep us from him." I looked back to Chris with annoyance, "your job is not to follow me, it is to follow my command. And I command you to leave me alone. I will take refuge within a home or apartment. I will only leave when absolutely necessary. I will do some type of work that keeps me within my home, and I will stay there as much as possible."

"You plan to become a shut in?" Ty hissed, "I did not follow you to let you break down and give up."

I turned to him with a glare, "you will never understand how much he is going to come for me. You have never been here when he has tried to find me, none of you have. I can only imagine what he's going to do to try to find me this time if I might have his child." I took a deep breath so I would not scream at them, "I am not hiding away; I am not giving up. I'm looking at the reality of the situation and finding a way to survive. I am backed into a corner again and this is the only way to keep me from having to kill. The pack is upon us and so we can't be a true pack anymore. I must do this on my own. This is exactly why I did not want you to stay, because I do not plan to stay with you."

Luther grabbed my hand as I looked at him in surprise; he truly was a brave human. "And what do you plan to do during the full moon? We could barely stop you as a whole group how are you going to stop yourself?"

"I will figure that out in due time too, but this is what's got to occur in order for us all to be safe."

Ty groaned in annoyance, "fine, if you want us to all be separate, fine. I understand what you're saying even though I do not like it. But it will never work if you are just by yourself, you can't make it through a full moon. Not with the way things went this past time. I want to go with you, but I know you will not let me. Cade will go with you."

I looked at him in surprise as he knew not to fight me. I chuckle, "are you trying to kill this half-blood? If I cannot be detained by a full-blood, how is a half-blood supposed to keep me down?"

Ty seemed to grow as he stood tall and firm, "Do I have to say it?"

"Say what?"

He chuckled, "sometimes you are such a fool," he began as I stared him down. "You have feelings for this half-blood."

Everyone froze as they saw my eyes turn gold as I rushed towards Ty. Before they could stop me, I had his back up against the wall, being held up by my claws that replaced my nails. Even Ty gasped as he realized I was coming somewhat out of transformation. I fought my own body in order not to fully transform out of anger, "sadness, fear, and worry are all our kind can feel! What nonsense are you spouting?"

He choked slightly as he gave me a wicked smile, "you're falling in love with him. At least, as close as you can get to it."

I squeezed tighter on his neck as I felt my claws pierce his skin. "Are you trying to die today?"

Ty shoved my hand away as he began choking and coughing while sitting on the ground. He looked at me and I was surprised to see his eyes flash gold. It had been a long time since that it occurred for him. "Tell me you don't! Tell me truthfully that you do not feel love towards him!"

I looked at him in dismay as I knew I only had two options left for an answer. One would shatter my heart and one would shatter all of theirs. I could not let my pride down, but I also could not hurt them. I stormed over to the door as I heard Chris and Collin rush after me. I stopped with my hand on the door handle and paused. "Do not follow me." Their instincts forced them to stop in their tracks. I left the room and immediately went to the staircase. I walked down the stairs and went out of the hotel.

This was my first time in this new country, but it was not my first time in a new city. It also is not the first time to have nothing with me other than the clothes on my back. I began walking to the west of the hotel as I smelled ocean air coming from that way. It had been a long time since I had seen the ocean and I truly enjoyed seeing it. I walked for a long time and finally stopped as I reached a railing surrounding the harbor. I focused on my hands and forced them to go back to their fully human form. I leaned on the railing and watched as cargo ships went in-and-out. I thought for a moment on how I wanted to change my looks for this time around and decided that I would become something I had never been before.

I looked around me and saw that many people had blonde hair and blue eyes, but that was too similar to my current look. I continued looking around as I saw people with lightly tan skin, light brown hair, and muscular tone. I smirked slightly as I realized it had been a long time since I had been muscular in any form. I looked up to the sky and saw how bright the sun was here so I knew it would not be difficult to tan. I looked around again and saw people with very different types of hair and style walking around. A woman with short hair, barely touching her shoulders caught my attention. That might work as I had never had short hair before.

I was startled slightly as I felt the railing bends just by a bit. I looked to my left to see a man leaning up against it. He was within inches of me as he smoked a cigarette. He was young, tan, blonde haired, and blue eyed. He smiled at me, "are you new?"

I look to him with a smirk, "how'd you guess?"

He sighed as he let out smoke, "you're too tense; it's not the way things are done here. At least not by the locals." He paused and took another drag before breathing out. "You know they're looking for you," the man stated as I look to him and confusion, "the firsts."
