Chapter 13

The door rattled, "Why the hell are you in there when El's changing?" Chris hissed as I sighed.

"I had to talk to him and asked him to come in. He's gay, for god's sake! What do you need?"

"I have clothes for you."

Ty put his hand outside the door and pulled back some clothes. He brought them to me and aided me into the light-colored jeans and a loose green shirt. I put on the slip-ons and pulled up my hair. "You should leave it down."

"Why?"

"There are marks on the nape of you neck."

I blushed slightly as I put my hair tie on my wrist before walking out of the bathroom. I put my wrist behind my back as I smiled to Chris. I quickly walked over to Luther as I saw him sitting at the small table with medical supplies. I looked to Ty and he quickly began a discussion with Chris and Collen as a distraction. I rushed to put my arm out to Luther. He began cleaning off the remaining blood and placed gauze on the fresh blood.

"What the hell happened!"

Luther and I both froze as Cade ran to me, "Oh my god!" Collen yelled as he also rushed over with Chris on his heels.

I smiled to them, "Sorry, I hurt my hand." Luther quickly continued examining my wrist.

Luther looked up to Ty, "How bad?"

"Seven or eight."

"Seven or eight what?" Chris demanded as he moved closer.

"Breaks," he replied sheepishly. "There are seven or eight breaks in El's wrist."

"What did you do to it?!" Cade asked and then pointed at my sleeve, "And what is that?"

I jumped slightly as Collen pulled up my sleeve. He stumbled backwards as his face whitened, "When?"

"That looks like a bite mark!"

I felt tears coming to my eyes as I looked to the table, "When?!" Collen demanded, "Answer me, El!"

I began shaking, "No!"

Everyone was shocked as Collen grabbed my shirt and pulled me out of the chair, "I will strip you right here, in front of everyone to confirm my suspicions, if you do not answer me right now!"

I began crying as I looked to Collen's eyes, "Then strip me! I will not tell you!"

"Collen, stop!" Ty yelled as he pulled Collen's hand off my shirt. I stumbled back to the chair.

"You knew?!" He hissed, "You knew and didn't tell me!"

"He did nothing wrong!" I hissed as everyone looked to me, "I just told him while you were out!" I looked directly at Collen, "I am the one that did something wrong, no one else!"

"How did this happen!? Someone has been with you at all times!"

"The hotel." Luther whispered as Collen looked to me in horror.

"What the hell are you talking about?!" Chris hissed, "Why are you so pissed Collen?"

He turned to Chris with anger, "He got to her!" Chris froze in horror, "Her eternal mate found her!"

Chris stared at me with anger, "You need to tell us everything, El. We are all working together to survive."

I stood, "Can you help me over on the beds?" Luther nodded, "If you all want to know, we can talk over there." I sat on the bed closest to the window as Luther worked on my wrist. Ty sat at my side and aided Luther as needed. Chris, Collen, and Cade sat on the edge of the other bed, staring at me.

"When I got to the hotel, I got straight into the shower. When I came out, he was in my room. I don't know how he got in, but he used his strength to stop me from running. He used our primal lust to keep me in his grasp." I looked away, "After I passed out, I woke up and was shackled by my wrist to the bed frame. I only had one shot at getting away before he woke up. I forced my wrist out of the shackle and really ruined it."

Collen put his head into his hands, "Ty, how many times?"

"You don't need to tell them!"

Collen shot a glare at me as tears filled his eyes, "I have to know, El! You won't tell me, but he will!"

Ty looked away from me, "19. He wants a child."

Collen began shaking, "How did I not notice!?" He asked as he began crying, "Damn it!"

"I'm sorry, I wasn't strong enough."

Collen stormed out of the room as Ty and Chris quickly followed behind him. I looked over to Luther who just stared at me while working on my hand.

"You can speak your mind; I won't judge you for it."

He looked down at my wrist before speaking, "Ty explained a little bit of what happened at the office to me. He said it's been a long time since he saw you use your instincts that much."

I nodded, "what else did they think would happen when they trapped a wolf and cornered them? Only in this form are we anything but wolves."

"Ty said he was amazed as he has never seen you like that before."

I smiled sadly, "Ty has only seen the lighter parts of my life. I have made sure that was the case as he would never come near me if he knew everything I've done and am capable of." I looked over to Cade before I looked back down to my legs. "Us firsts were very different in the beginning than what we are now. We had no idea what we were nor how we could survive. The king gave us life that we didn't understand. After a while, all we thought about was killing the humans. We would go as a pack and just kill anything in sight. We had lost our sense of humanity and were truly wild. Any time we would come upon a human or a few in a group, we would slaughter them just to get rid of our urge." I took a deep breath as horrible memories flashed in my mind. "There were eight years between when I was reborn and when Collin was attacked. I was in the group that attacked him, but when I saw his face, I came back to reality. I did not come back in time and we almost killed him entirely. My only choice was to turn him, and I selfishly did. We have been together for so long, is difficult to be apart from each other for just moments." I looked up to Luther's eyes as he looked back to me with pity, "That's why he was so upset. It's been 3 decades since we've been apart for long and he left me for just a moment. That was all it took to be found and to be taken from him."

"You know his feelings?"

I smiled sadly at Luther, "he was in love with me before he almost died, and he still loves me now. But he understands we can never be together. He has seen, firsthand, what my true primal instincts look like. It's worse than you can ever imagine. And during the full moon, we lose all sense of reality and turn back to what we were in the beginning." I smirked at Luther, "I guess I should feel privileged as I was hand-picked to become one of us. Most were just unlucky, but I was taken to the king. My mate found me in our town and took me to the king directly. He had chosen me as his mate before he even spoke to me."

"So he loves you?"

I laughed before looking to him with regret, "There is no such thing as love with eternal mates. There is only instinct and desire." I felt my skin shiver, "Can I confide in you, Luther?"

He nodded, "of course you are my dear friend."

I felt tears coming to my eyes, but I forced them not to fall. "He made me say those words, that human phrase. Over and over and over. With his strength, I am drawn to do anything and everything he tells me to. I can try to fight it, but with how weak I have become, it is too much. The longer I stay away, the weaker I become. If I'm caught again, I will never be able to leave. I may never get enough strength to defy him for even a second. I'm still you bewildered that I was able to get away this time. I got lucky and will probably never have that chance again." I squeezed my shirt in my hand as I smiled to Luther, "I envy you. To be able to love Ty and for Ty to be able to love you, it's like a fairy tale that never happens for our kind. Ty has never looked fondly to half-bloods, let alone to humans. You are the first he has ever shown interest in at all."

Luther finished wrapping my hand as he looked to me with hope, "so you do have a chance of finding love! Ty found it with me."

I looked away so I would not cry, "Ty is very different from me. He may be of my kind, but he is not one of the firsts. We are much more primal than the rest. I am the only first to ever leave, and I'm the only first to ever successfully hide. The firsts are viewed as Alphas within the pack and are worshiped by the others. My mate is the son of the king by birth and the 3rd by rebirth. The firsts have never gone near humans nor half-bloods in centuries. They cannot control their urge if they do."

"But you can be near us, so you are different!"

"It took a long time for me to get here. You saw just part of my true form this last full moon, when I attacked Aaron. If you were not Ty's partner, you probably would not have made it through."

There was a long pause that was very uncomfortable. "If Ty is not one of the firsts, how did you meet him?" I looked slightly to Cade, thankful he broke the silence.

"I guess you could say I'm like a mother to him. He is the son of one of the firsts and look to me as more of a mother than to her. Over time, we began viewing each other as equals and as partners."

Luther chuckled slightly, "when we originally met, Ty kept talking about you like you were his wife. He spoke of you so lovingly that I was sure that you had been together."
