Chapter 6

I hated my first period. Science. Everyone hated it. This was the one class I didn't have higher than an 80% in. It was hard, and the teacher seemed like she had no idea what the hell she was talking about.

I was just sitting there, trying to mind my own business, and do my work, but Mr. Playboy came by and started trying to flirt with me. I, being the good child I was, didn't give in. Sure, he was cute, but my heart had already belonged to another...

In Fourth Period, our teacher was sick, so we had a sub today. And let me tell you; She didn't seem like she cared about what she was here for. All she did was tell us a page number, and that we can be as loud as we want, so long the class next door doesn't get annoyed. Stella was talking to her friends, and, while I was doing my work, like a good child would, she walked by me, 'tripped', and spilled her drink on my paper. She knew how much I valued my education, and she hated that I was smarter than her.

"Omg, I am so sorry! Tell me, what can I do to male it up to you??", she asked, apologetically. I wasn't stupid, I knew she did it on purpose.

"Uh, you can like, ya know, stop trying to make my life hell, that'd be much appreciated, thank you", I said, trying not to get mad.

She leaned into my ear and said, " Oh, not a chance, sweetie. You don't deserve to live a life of happiness, you useless child."

I had lost it. I got up, and I slapped her in the face. Hard. You could hear the sound through the loudness of the class, and everyone stopped what they were doing. They were now staring at me, judgement in their eyes, and hatred in Stella and her group's.

"Libby, what the hell is wrong with you?! It was just a piece of paper!" I heard a voice behind me. It was Alex. I stared at him, tears in my eyes, and ran out of the classroom. I made my way to the front doors and bolted. By the time I had reached the street, I had tears flowing down my face, causing my mascara to also run down my face. I was just so done with school.

I don't know where I am. I just ran in a direction, not thinking about where I was going. I started walking in a normal pace, trying to act calm. I reached for my phone, only to realize I didn't have it on me. 'Well shit. How am I supposed to find my way back now?!' Not only could I not see where I was and where I needed to go to get back, I didn't know what time it was and how long it'd take before it got dark.

I feel like I ran for at least an hour, but that was probably just an over exaggeration. I wanted to see Jake, but I couldn't. Not for a long time, since I have no way of doing so.

"Well, well, well. What do we got here? A poor, innocent girl, looking like she's trying to prostitute herself for the sake of money, I bet?" A voice said, making me jump. "Aw, don't be scared. I won't hurt you. Yet." He laughed like he was planning something horrible. I was too much in my own head, that I didn't see any of the other people standing around me.

He leaned in to my ear and whispered, "Now, why would I let someone as beautiful as you, out of my grasp?" I felt something go across my mouth, then I couldn't breathe.
