The Light Before the Dark

I Felt drained, my body tumbling in the darkness. suddenly a bright light.

"Jackson, you are doing well beyond expectations. please continue, this world will die if the Ashen continjue the barbarity that they live by. Even if you must erradicated them all to save this wonderful world. I know this is a daunting task. Soon very oon i can send help, you must stay strong jackson!" a voice boomed around me.

"I Will do what I think is right. Nothing more nothing less. This world is wonderful, but its not a plaything. Those people deserve a chance if they are willing to change, at least the civilian populace." I replied.

"Dare you defy a gods wishes?" the voice asked.

"If you haven't noticed that kinda my thing. just remember you chose me." I replied.

"oh how right you are Jackson, I did chose you." the Voice laughed.

"Very well I will trust your judgement." it said.

Suddenly I was awake. sitting in the dark. I was covered in sweat, Demeter was sitting with her head in my lap, Veronica was snoozing in a chair by a window. wind slowly blowing the curtains about in the moonlight. Tears had stained her face. Liona was in the corner quietly sobbing.

"Why are you crying my dear?" I asked in a quiet voice.

her ears twitched, her eyes grew wide as she spun around to see me sitting upright.

"How, you died?" she muttered between sobs.

"Death herself couldn't contain me my girl." i smiled.

Truth be told i knew why i wouldnt die, at least not yet. i was protected by divinity.

Demeter Grabbed my hand and squeezed, her red hair flowing on my lap. she muttered about how sorry she was.

"Wake up." my voice boomed in the empty night air.

The girls all jumped. Liona over how loud my voice was.

"Your alive!?" shock and disbelief.

"Yes we have already established that." i laughed.

"How though your heart stopped, i couldnt hear it anymore." Demeter asked tearing up.

"I Disobeyed god." i replied swinging my legs out of the bed.

"We have things to do. Has Oz showed up yet?" i asked looking at the girls.

it took a second for them to snap out of their stupor.

"He has. He's downstairs with apollo and Anubis. i warn you Anubis is in a mood." Demeter replied.

"Greeeeeat. a pissy puppy. just what i wanted to deal with the moment i wake up from being dead." i muttered.

i opened the door and headed downstairs. i could hear anubis grumbling.

"Damn mortal had to summon me and die. who the hell does that? Even Hades is more considerate in those matters." he grumbled.

"Oh i'm sorry that im such an burden for you Anpu. I could just end your suffering you know?" i called out as i walked down the stairs.

i heard chairs flip and mutterings from several people. as i reached the ground floor i saw Osmodious on his knees with head bowed. apollo followed suite. Anubis stood with his jaw open.

"You see your pityful whinning is annoying Anubis. let me explain to you what the summoning pact is in this world. BOTH parties have to accept the pact. Now stop with the dramatics you friggin drama queen." i growled at him.

He whimpered a bit and lowed his head in shame.

"Apollo who should i choose Ares or Sekhmet?" i asked looking t him.

Anubis shuddered at the name of Sekhmet.

"Why does it have to be her. Cats and dogs dont get along." he moaned.

"I Could call out Bastet if ya don't shut your mouth Anubis." i replied shooting him a dirty look.

His jaw snapped shut and he flopped back into a chair. Apollo stood with a quizzical look on his face.

"Lets go with Sekhmet. Ares is kind of a grouchy bastard." Apollo answered.

"Very well, we will summon her soon i have a few orders for you. Apollo and Anubis, i want you to start disrupting major supply lines for the Ashen Empire. We are offically at war. OZ you will guard this village with Demeter and begin rebuilding. i'm Going to summon Sekhmet and Kali. they will be heading off the scattered forces, drawing out the main force to our location. This is the light ladies and gentlemen. The dark is about to rear its head. we need to be ready." i said waiving my arms as i gave orders.

Things were about to get interesting around the village.
