Chapter 1: Awaited Day

- YEAR 90's -

"Chirp! Chirp!"

The sound of the birds singing, and the sunlight coming from the window woke me up. I sat up and yawned- "Good Morning World!" I shouted with a smile on my face.

I got up from my bed and took a shower. After dressing up, I went downstairs to make breakfast. I made six egg sandwiches, and also two coffees. As I put the food on the table, my mother finally woke up. "Good morning, mother." I greeted her with a smile. "I made us breakfast."

"Oh, Juliette. You don't have to make one for me. I can do it by myself." Mom said with a yawn.

"Mom, I'm not a baby anymore who can't cook. I'm at the age where I should be the one to take care of you instead." I sat down and sipped my coffee.

"I'm really proud to have such a sweet daughter like you." She kissed my head, and sat down as well. Then the both of us enjoyed our breakfast.

- LATER -

"I'll be back, Mother." I said, as I opened the door. The moment I stepped outside, I was greeted by this ovewhelming positive energy. Everything looks perfect as it is. I inhaled the fresh country air, then exhaled it with another smile. After that, I start my journey towards the nearest dress shop.

Although I have a car, I decided to just walk and enjoy the fresh air. While walking, I saw our neighbor watering his garden. "Good day, Mister George!" I waved my hand.

"Oh Juliette, It is a good day indeed!" He wave back at me before watering his small garden again.

Across the street, I saw my mother's friend who lives a few blocks away from our house. Mrs. Leonora and his two little sons were waiting for the school bus outside. I waved and greeted them, "Morning Mrs. Leonora! And you kids, Goodluck on your school!"

All three of them waved back with a smile, especially the two boys who kept waving nonstop.

I continued heading towards my destination when suddenly a red car honked behind. I jumped out of surprise. The car halted and opened the driver seat's window. "Juliette, dear!" My best friend Sara called me out.

"Oh goodness, it's just you. I was about to run away!" I sighed in relief. "Wait, you have a car now?"

"Well yeah, I bought one. Finally I won't borrow your car anymore-- Now that we're talking about cars, where's yours?" She asked. "Where are you headed?"

"I'm heading to the nearest dress shop, and I prefer walking today. I just really feel that things are going to end well today."

"Really? I'm going there, too! Wanna ride in? Seems like it's my time to shine today! You know, to repay you back."

I thought before answering. I looked at the road to my destination, and I suddenly felt that it'll be quite exhausting. I exhaled, "Alright."

"Sweet! Jump in!"

I smiled as I opened the car door and entered. I buckled up first, and then she drove off. While she was driving, she stared at me through the car mirror. "Juliette dear, what's with that 'glow'?" Sara grinned.

I gave a little giggle. "What do you mean by glow?"

"Oh, you! That glowing aura! That smile on your face! Did something good happened today?"

"Oh no, it's nothing. It's just..." I rested my chin with my palm. "Today's my most awaited day." I beamed as I looked outside the window. "A really, really special day."
