I finally got away from my pursuers, and found myself in a small town. The people were wearing such strange outfits and head pieces. I saw one person who didn't look so bad, and walked over to him to try to find out what the date was.
"Uhm, excuse me, sir?" The man looked at me with a tired expression. Suddenly his eyes shone with curiosity and fear.
"Yes?" He answered, but seemed to be trying to keep his distance from me.
"What's the date?" Some of the other people started to look my way.
"Why, it's July 18, 3130. Don't you have your chip in?" The man asked.
"Chip? Whatever do you mean?" I need to find out where exactly I am. I pulled out my phone to see that it was dead.
The man jumped back in fear. "Wh...what is that?! Don't come any closer!" With that said, he ran off on his way.
How unusual. I looked around to find that the streets were now deserted. Why is everyone acting in such a way? All I did was...pull out my phone. It can't even do anything since the juice is gone. I checked my pockets to see what else I had on me. Finding a few pennies in change, a few pieces of gum, and a...pamphlet? The art of time traveling? When did this get in my pocket?
I opened it up to find different pictures of places. I don't think this is the time to read it, after all I'm starving. I should also look for a place to charge my phone. I need to find out where I am, and how to get away from here.
I found a café and, lucky for me, they had charging stations. Of course I had to ask how many volts the outlet gives off, and it was the usual amount of 120 volts. Sorry for those in Europe with 224 volt outlets. I plugged in my phone, but hid the device hoping that nobody would see it. I don't need them kicking me out before my phone has enough juice to last me awhile.
A waitress came over to me, though something told me there was something not right about her. Maybe it was the lack of expression in her eyes, or the high frequency coming from her.
"Good morning sir! Is there anything I could get you to make this morning great?!" Too cheerful as well, no human could be this happy at work. No matter if he/she's a morning person or not.
"Sure, I'll have some coffee." I quickly said. Not bothering to look at the menu.
"Would you like any creamer with that, sir?" She asked.
"No."
"Alright, coming right up!" She walked back over to the counter to get my order.
I don't even drink coffee, I never cared for the taste of it. The girl came back with a mug, and gave me a wink. I wonder why, until I saw another person using the outlet. The only difference was that the cord was connected into his back. Androids, I should have known. She must be one and think that I'm one too. Maybe this can work to my advantage. It could explain my clothes, since the androids were wearing the same type of clothes. I just hope that nobody sees through my disguise and I can make it out of this crazy place.
