The doctors are starting to get even more confused about my brother's condition. Especially when we came in this morning to find all his things all over the floor. His phone and a small amount of his change is missing. Also his extra charge seems to have vanished. When the cops looked at the footage, they said that there wasn't anybody in the room. We looked back over it with them, and there wasn't anyone in the room, but we watched as the phone suddenly disappeared. Why though? How could an object vanish on it's own?
Suddenly the weird guy from before made it into the room. "He's done it now. Changing the past as well as our future."
"How did his phone disappear?" I asked him, after all, there's no harm in the question.
"He called it in the future and it came. He asked for change, and he got it. Yes, he won't be the same when he comes back, but he will change for the better. That's why we have certain people be time travelers. Those are the people who don't fully understand what they mean to others. Those that don't know how fortunate they are to be in the time era they're in. They are the ones that are chosen, and they are the ones that have much to improve. Though they could learn nothing from their travels, they will come back better than before they left."
He sounds less insane now. I looked back at the monitors, then realized how this all had to be true. I mean, it made so much sense. Then suddenly my phone began to ring. When I pulled it out of my pocket, I saw that it was my brother calling me. I answered it and put it on speaker phone.
"Hey bro, where are you?" I asked, something didn't feel right. We watched the current feed on his room.
"I don't exactly know. I'm in some town near a vast forest. It has all these kinds of androids. Look can you come pick me up?"
"Well, if you give me an address I could try to locate it…"
"Okay, give me a sec." All of us were thinking of what to do.
"I'm in the middle of the...no way am I there! This says that I'm in the middle of the pacific ocean. How can that be?!"
"Could you face time?"
"No, everyone here gets scared if they see a phone. Plus, how exactly would that help? I just want to go home, it's been a long day. A long day...more like a long morning. After all, it's only eight. People even have it in their heads that it's the year 3130. Then they were talking about something about a chip. I have no clue what they mean!"
"Don't let them give you one of those. Try to avoid civilizations, at least all but the ones in the forest, at all cost. Those chips are deadly and kill you slowly. They put them in people so that they can easily control the population." The man said.
"Who's that? Why should I rely on the civilizations in the forest? They tried to kill me!!"
"Surrounder to them and they won't harm you. They probably think you're the enemy, but you're not. My name is Daren, please trust me. I know it's hard for you to understand. But this is what you have, so use the knowledge that I gave you wisely." He walked out of the room, and we were all shocked.
"Well, it doesn't look like I have a choice. Is Lily there?"
"Yes pumpkin, I'm here!" She said with false joy in her voice.
"We're over. I don't even want to see your face right now. Really, with my best friend?! You're a...nevermind. Yo sis."
"Yes?"
"Can you kick her ass for me? I need to be going. Some of the villagers are coming out, and I don't want to draw more attention to myself."
"Alright, try to be safe and please call when you can."
He hung up before he could finish. Lily looked surprised by what he said. My mother shot her a death glare, and grabbed her by the shirt.
"How could you do that to my baby boy?!" She wasn't yelling, but that made it even more frightening.
"He was sleeping and looked as if he was going to die. Who wouldn't move on after that? There's a lot more men that are way more handsome than him anyways. Only a mother could love a son that ugly." Lily pushed her and pulled out her phone.
I grabbed some lipstick from her bag, and walked up to her. I took out the slimy lipstick and shoved it down her throat. "There, maybe that'll make your inside as nice as your outside. Either way, leave for there is no reason for you to be here anymore." I just thought of something. "Oh, and I want my brother's debit card back."
I held out my hand before she could leave. Since the police were there, it didn't take her long to hand it over. She walked out with a defeated look on her face. She probably was hoping to put my brother in debt while he's...gone. I then walked out the door to find the strange man. Maybe he knows how to bring my brother back.
I found him in the café drinking coffee. I walked over to him and sat down. "Um, excuse me Daren. I was just-"
"You were wondering how to get your brother back in this time." He finished for me. "It's his own doing. He's only stayed there this long because his subconscious feels like it needs to. He can come back when he's ready. Though rushing him before he's completely ready can cause serious brain damage."
"Why would his subconscious want this?"
"He knew he wasn't getting all that he needed out of life, or at least he didn't feel like he was seeing how life was going so well for him. How fortunate he was to have what he did when he did. So his subconscious asked for a way to experience it. This is how the universe has allowed him to."
"Does that mean that someone saw us? You know, before we were born?"
"Who knows. Maybe, there's a good chance. Though I don't know how personal they would have known us."
"Would we see them now, if they did come?"
"No, but people who he/she did meet, will have dreams about that person. And their impact would still affect us, though the person themselves wouldn't have a physical impact. That being said, be careful around that Lily gal. She seems to be the big reason behind this."
"Why would you say that? I know she's...you know, but why should I be scared of her?"
"She's the one that makes your brother feel like nobody cares about him. He already doubts your parents love for him. He hasn't doubted you yet, but she will make it happen."
"How did you know what he was going through, and where he was?"
"You don't remember me at all? He certainly does, even though he's fifteen."
"I wish I could, but, sadly, I don't."
"I'm Daren, you're brother's imaginary friend. His subconscious pushed me out, trying to warn you of the risks. That's why I know everything that's going on."
"What's happening to my brother right now?"
"He's currently a hostage to the people in the forest. They are checking him for the chip, but realized that he doesn't have it."
"Is he going to be okay?" I was so worried about him.
"Don't worry, I won't let him get hurt. I promise you in your brother's favor. He cares about you too much to die." He got up and started to walk away.
"Wait! Why were you drinking coffee then? Levi doesn't like black coffee."
"He does now. He just had some to pass the time while his phone was charging. I guess things can change." He flashed me a smile then left. What a strange guy, then again my brother has always been strange to me. I guess that's part of the reason why we're so close to each other.
