First Date

"...now you know what high-5s are, and hugs, and... some body language, facial expressions." Keanu stated.

Atop an old apartment building sat an overlook of some of the city. The moonlight gleamed brightly before the two of them, the stars twinkling against the blanket of darkness.

"I need to learn feelings," Zyne responded.

"You will with time."

Keanu sighed and looked at Zyne. "I think I love you."

Zyne's heart fluttered. "You have said that before."

"But I'm... ready to make it more than what we have."

"How do I do that?"

"I don't know. What do you think?"

"Nothing changes. It stays like this," Zyne said, "because nothing has changed."

"We'll go on a real date this time."

"I do like it like this."

They held hands, their fingers intertwined. A low purr rumbled from Zyne's throat.

"Out of all the years I've been alive, you are the first human I have loved. You are the only thing that has ever given me this feeling you call love," Zyne thought aloud.

"Can I kiss you?" Keanu asked him, gazing into Zyne's eyes.

"I don't know, can you...?"

Keanu chuckled. "No, I mean, may I kiss you?"

Zyne nodded.
