Leopard Geckos

Keanu continued with his schedule, taking jobs. He only did two out of the whole week.

Zyne saw that on his phone, he'd been sent a gaggle of jobs, but didn't take them. Keanu spent those days at home, with his dog. Zyne simply spectated, cautious of how much energy he would extract from Keanu.

Keanu laid on the carpet flooring of his room, his eyes closed. He breathed in largely and steadily, focused on something...

"Is something not right?" Zyne appeared as his hologram self, sitting up, his legs criss-crossed. He hovered an inch above the floor, right beside Keanu.

"What?"

"Are you troubled?"

"I don't want to talk about it."

Zyne nodded, accepting Keanu's answer.

Keanu opened his eyes, his eyelids hanging low. How devoid of energy he was; Zyne knew it was not because of his borrowing of Keanu's less literal energy.

"Maybe another day," Keanu sighed.

"Do you like reptiles?"

"Maybe. Do you like reptiles?"

Zyne squinted his eyes, in thought. He descended & leaned back, one leg crossed over the other. "I do like reptiles. Leopard geckos. They have bumpy tails."

"I prefer dogs. Rennug is an Akita."

Keanu glanced at Zyne. "Wanna smoke some weed?"

Over time, I gained enough of Keanu's "energy" to reform into my own corporeal body. I gave Keanu a demon sickness, the side-effect being a weak sense of telekinetic abilities and an off-color eye. Though weak, his abilities had no limitations, unlike mine.

For a long time, I didn't know what our relationship was. I didn't understand it. But I was fine with that.

I started to feel feelings I never experienced before.
