Excitement

"Uncle An!" Gu Xiaoran dared not show him any disrespect—even Mo Qing had to address him as Uncle An.

"Miss Gu, it's getting windy outside. Go into the house or you might catch a cold."

"Can I borrow your mobile phone?"

"Sorry, I don't have a mobile phone."

"How is that possible?" Gu Xiaoran couldn't believe that there were still people who didn't use mobile phones.

"Well, we cannot use personal mobile phones when we're working here."

"I see," Gu Xiaoran followed Zhuo An into the villa and went straight to the landline phone in the living room.

She realized, however, that the landline would only be used for internal calls.

"How do I make an external call?"

"The phones here could only be used for internal calls."

"How is that possible?" Gu Xiaoran was going crazy, "Then how do you communicate with the outside world?"

"We have our own dedicated line."

Gu Xiaoran found it unbelievable, "You mean, other than the dedicated line, this place is isolated from the world?"

"Yes."

"Uncle An, I have class tomorrow, can you ask someone to send me out?"

"Young Master has already gotten someone to ask for a leave of absence for you, Miss Gu. You can study here without worry."

"I haven't been able to learn well at school, let alone through self-study. Wouldn't I be wasting time if I stay here?"

"Don't worry about this, Miss Gu. Young Master had excellent results in all subjects in the past. You will be able to get into College A with his guidance."

She hadn't insisted on going out with Mo Qing because she was afraid that he would make her do all those positions on the spot if she made him angry.

She had thought that she would contact her father and think of a way to get out of that place after he had left. If that hadn't worked, she would have still threatened to call the police and got his servants to send her out.

In the end, she had oversimplified things.

The place was like a luxurious prison that was completely isolated from the world: even if she had died there, no one would have known.

And Uncle An obviously wasn't a person easy to talk with. He would never send her out without Mo Qing's permission.

Damn Mo Qing. Had he really imprisoned her?

Gu Xiaoran was going crazy, "Uncle An, please help me make a call, I'm looking for Mo Qing."

"Well…" Uncle An was put on the spot. From his understanding, Young Master would be having a very important meeting in a while, so it wouldn't be appropriate to call him then.

"Uncle An, I have heart disease, so I can't get too anxious. If anything were to happen to me, you wouldn't be able to explain to Mo Qing, right?"

Gu Xiaoran threatened in a soft and pleading tone, making him annoyed and amused at the same time.

Mo Qing had never brought any woman back to South Bay—Gu Xiaoran was the first one. It meant that she was very important to Young Master.

Uncle An picked up the phone, pressed a string of numbers, and waited a few seconds before handing the phone to Gu Xiaoran, "Miss Gu, I've called Young Master."

Gu Xiaoran answered the phone, "I want to go out!"

"Get into College A and I'll let you out."

"Mo Qing, I don't care what your reason is, but you have no right to imprison me here. Either you come back to take me out or get someone to send me out."

"I have no time," he answered curtly.

Gu Xiaoran was exasperated, "Then you shall see me dead."

"Gu Xiaoran, this is not your usual style."

"I'm sick of being mild, I prefer excitement now."

"That's a good change," Mo Qing hung up the phone after saying that. He had never seen anyone who was more afraid of death than her, who believed that a living dog was better than a dead lion—she would never commit suicide.
