The Neighbor

As I noticed that the ball of darkness was growing at an even faster pace, I had decided to try my all to escape. I ran out to the hallway of my apartment building which further accentuated the run down apartment theme. The ball of light had by now grown by two meters as it further swallowed up all of the things in my apartment. I noticed that everything that it touched had now begun to wither down at a faster rate, and it had even started to refine everything within a few inches of it.

The ball had gotten closer and closer to the ceiling now, and only a few inches away when it had noticed me as prey, now that it had grown to a considerable size, enough to swallow me whole. The ball then started to widen, as it had not yet been tall enough to get to the ceiling, it hadn't destroyed that yet, thankfully. The ball then started to float towards me, swallowing everything in it's range my TV was swallowed as well as my fridge, chairs, and anything else that it could get a hold of on its way towards me.

As I was wondering what to do my neighbor had stuck his head out the door, wondering what the noise was, as I was panting hard and had knocked over a few things on the way out of my room. "What in the bloody hell is going on out here?" He yelled. "Nothing, was in a hurry to leave, as I had forgotten that I had somewhere to be today."

"Well keep it down out there, you're gonna wake up the whole damn complex!" He said, giving me a gaze full of contempt and hatred for waking him up early this morning.

"Yes sir" I complied.

I hadn't thought of telling him about it at the time, but I probably wouldn't have since he was the worst neighbor that anyone could have. He would always be making noise during the night, and always be playing music while everyone in the complex was asleep. Nobody liked him for those reasons. But it wasn't good enough of a reason to not tell him since there was nothing that we could have done to prevent this situation I thought that it wouldn't have made a difference anyway.
