Devouring Immortal

I sat like a monk and proceeded to absorb a bit of Void Essence.  Chen Xiao had told me that if I had refined 200 molecules of lower rank 1 Void Essence then my body would be burdened by the amount and would start to bulge.  So I decided to refine my body first before proceeding to refining more.


I calmed my mind and started to use the technique "Sacred Art of Body Refinement" which he had given me before I had started.  I refined some more Void Essence and then proceeded to follow the instructions of the body refinement technique. 


As soon as I started the refinement, it felt as if every part of my body was itching and burning at the same moment but this was nothing compared to the bed bug infested apartment I lived in in my previous life.  


As the process was speeding up the itching soon turned into fiercer burning that felt like my body was inside of a furnace, but my will held up as I had prepared myself as Chen Xiao had mentioned that it would hurt a lot during the first time.


When the process reached the 3 hour mark there was a slight euphoria that had come after the 3 hours of grueling pain that accompanied the process.  My body had been refined over and over again during this time, and there was black impurities mixed with blood, there was another golden light and then all of the impurities vanished with the wind.


I had completed about 10 percent of the first rank body refinement, which it was called by Chen Xiao.  He had told me that there was 9 levels to every Realm of cultivation that was important to advance to the next.  To be able to complete 10 percent of the first level was beyond shocking as he had told me that people in the mid level kingdoms needed about 5 days to complete that much, but it had only taken me 3 hours to get there.  


He had also told me not to get too cocky as this is only the beginning and those cultivators might just be stronger than me if I get too cocky and not try my best as there is always a mountain beyond a mountain in the world of cultivation.
