Chapter 4 – Combatant Guild, Ouroboros

On the next day, in Alan's bedroom.

"Argh...why my body feels heavy?" Alan thought before opened his eyes slowly.

He could only smile after he saw what is on top of his body. It was from Alice. She slept on Alan while mumbling from her dream. Mary and Erica were both at each side him hugging his arms while sleeping. His sisters were so playful that they did a lot of stuff together for the whole night. Fortunately, they became sleepy afterward and went to bed.

"I have a very interesting life now, don't I?" Alan talked to himself quietly.

While Alan was indulging in happiness, he suddenly recalled what his father said. Yesterday, he asked his father why did his sisters come back to the palace, from what he knows, this time of the year is not a holiday season.

The purpose of their return yesterday was because of the Snow family's big annual gathering next week. So, they come back early to the palace to prepare for it. The Snow family was quite big. They had several families from the main and the branch family from all over Snow's territory.

Alan's family was the center of the main branch family. His father, Lukas, was the current leader and master of the Snow Family. Hence, their ranking and reputation in the family were much higher than any other members of the Snow family.

Only after this Alan remembered. His family, the Snow Family was one of the powerhouse families in Unity but sadly, they still had internal problems between the members of the family.

At first, most of the members were still quietly accepted the previous family master, Lukas's father and Alan's grandfather, Rufus Snow's decision to make Lukas as the next master of the family even though every single one of them yearned for that position but after the accident happened to Alan, they showed their fangs and fight for the position.

Lukas was not only talented in combat and smart but he also had the best personality among his siblings. Not only that, but he was also the most loved child of Rufus and his wife, Andrea. Naturally, the child of Lukas, Alan, will be loved as well.

Alan was cheerful and mischievous as a child, but he knows his limit and knows how to be polite when needed to. He was so talented that people started to call him a genius, the genius of the Snow Family. Rufus and his wife were so proud of their grandson and the other members of the family could not do anything. Alan was a prodigy.

"Heh…I guess no matter where I go, I will always a prodigy even in this world." Alan chuckled. Even though the previous Alan was not him, he is Alan now. He had the previous Alan memories. So, technically he could be called an upgrade to the previous Alan.

Rufus and Andrea love Alan so much, even his sisters, Mary and Alice dulled compared to him. Unfortunately, an accident happened. Alan was injured in the head while saving Alice from a landslide and became crazy. Rufus and Andrea cried so much and was very sad.

After the bad incident happened, the other members of the Snow Family took their chance to take the position as the master of the family as no one wants a master of the family with a crazy child it will dirty their reputation but sadly for them, Rufus still appointed Lukas as the next family master.

"From what father had said yesterday, the gathering will have a competition of combat between the young generation of the Snow family." Alan talked to himself.

Alan looked at his sisters, "Ever since they entered the competition, they always won."

Alan knows his sisters fought for their father's reputation. He can't help but pity them. He caressed their hair lovingly. "You fought hard all these years but don't worry, your big brother is here now," Alan said quietly.

"Hmm…big brother? Good morning…" Alice sat up sleepily while rubbing her eyes.

"Good morning sleepy head." Alan patted her head.

"Hmm? Good morning…" Mary yawned.

"Good morning to my cute Mary!" Alan pinched her cheeks.

Alan looked at his other side, "Erica, wake up." he caressed her cheek.

"Ermm… five more minutes…" Erica murmured.

"This girl…it's good that she's cute. If not, I will throw her off the bed." Alan thought.

"No, it's late already. Wake up or I'll kiss you." Alan smiled.

"You can kiss me…my lips were always for you anyway…" Erica said before she noticed that she just said that out loud.

"Oh no!" Erica hid her flushed face under her pillow.

"Hehe." Alan chuckled to see Erica's behavior.

"NO WAY!" Mary and Alice shouted at the same time. Alan was theirs first.

Alan took all of them to breakfast in the dining room. While they were eating, suddenly the system announced on the window,

"Ding! New quests unlocked. Fail to complete the quests will be given penalty"

"Level 25 huh? The family gathering will be held next week, today is the third day of this week, So, that should be 4 more days." Alan thought.

"I guess I can manage that but the problem is Rainbow Diamond Dust, how can I get one?" Alan talks to himself inwardly.

Rainbow Diamond Dust is a rare material that was one of the materials for the sorcerers to upgrade their wand. Alan knows about this. He once read about this material in the novel.

"From what I remembered, this is one of the things the main character, John Pride tried to find in the novel. He fought hard for this." Alan thought to himself.

After all of them done eating, Alan smilingly looked at Alice and Mary and said, "Now you've eaten so much, let's go train with me. You don't want to be fat don't you? Oh, I'm sorry, fat Mary and Alice will be so cute too."

"FAT? You're the one who's FAT!" Alice yelled seemingly angry but her cute face does not affect Alan at all.

"Pfft..." Alan laughed.

"Big Brother wants to train with us? Are you sure? I know that you've defeated Shaun Cain with your magic but I use a rapier, are you sure you want to spar with me?" Mary asked her Alan.

"Don't worry, I can do physical train a little." Alan smiled.

"Okay then. You said so, but don't worry big brother, I'll go easy on you." Mary said.

Alan only smiled after heard what Mary said.

"Okay, please go easy on me!" Alan said while pinching Mary's cheeks.

Erica went along with Alan and his sister to the training room.

Alan and Mary were the ones who will be training first. In the arena, Alan and Mary were in the center.

"Let's go! Mary." Alan calmly said while the Star Sword suddenly appeared in his grip.

"Spatial! I expected no less from Big brother!" Mary said excitedly.

Alice at the side was also surprised to see the spatial skill Alan used just now. What more, the Star Sword in his grip was emitting a dreadful aura that made her hard to breathe.

Right after the training match started, Mary immediately dashed forward with her rapier to attack Alan.

Alan stood on the same spot with his sword lowered down. Just before Mary's rapier hit him, Alan tilted his body slightly to dodge the strike. After the strike was done but hit nothing, Alan hit the rapier once and it was thrown off from Mary's grip.

"Wow! Big brother you really can dodge! Let's try again." Mary thought what happened just now was by chance. She took back her rapier that was on the ground and stood not too far in front of Alan.

"Sure, but this time I will attack first." Alan smiled. He was still standing on the same spot from the beginning.

"Okay!" Mary smiled. She knew that her big brother was hiding his abilities just now.

After they were ready, Alan made a move. He was dashing toward Mary. His move was so fast that Mary can't keep up. Before she can make a move, Alan was already in front of her.

"I will not lose! Not yet!" Mary shouted. She lifted her rapier to block the attack but suddenly Alan's figure blurred and disappeared.

"Yes, it's over. You lost." Alan's figure appeared behind her and flicked her head.

"Humph! Big brother hit me! You were supposed not to hit me…" Mary pouted, her eyes moistened.

"Oops! I'm sorry little girl come here." Alan lifted and carried her like a princess to the side of the Arena.

Mary was so happy and leaned toward Alan's chest. She felt so comfortable and safe.

On the other side of the Arena, Alice clenched her fists, "I want to be carried by Big brother too…" she murmured.

"Hehe… Big Brother you were so fast! I knew it! You are strong without magic too after all!" Mary was excited.

"Of course! Who do you think your big brother is? I'm the genius prodigy!" Alan exclaimed.

"Train with me more, big brother!" Mary said excitedly.

"Un. Let's go!" Alan said.

After he trained with Mary for a few hours, Alan continued his training with Alice for a few more hours.

"Ding! Side Quest no 2 is complete. The experience will be granted. Experience counts will be shown to ease the Host leveling up." The system announced.

"Ding! Leveled up to level 15!" the system continued.

"Hmm? Did I level up? Experience?" Alan said confusedly. After he has done training with his sisters, he went to his room. He opened his status to see his new experience counts.

For the past 3 days, Alan was leveling himself up alone in the Hollow Forest. Now, his level was at level 20. The monsters in the forest were not relevant anymore for Alan to level up. So, he went to search for a new place to kill monsters.

Alan went to a combatant guild, Ouroboros. There, he saw a big mission board.

"There is a dungeon nearby!" Alan talked to himself.

"Hey, kid! What are you doing? Only the member of the guild can accept the missions on the mission board." A big man behind him said.

The man was very big. His body was very muscular and there were a lot of scars on it. Anyone could see that this man had experienced a lot.

"I need to be a member? So how can I be one?" Alan asked the man.

The muscular man only laughed after what he heard Alan asked him. "You? A guild member? Are you even a combatant?"

Alan smiled when he heard that before he said, "I don't even need to be a combatant to kick your ass."

"What did you say, kid?? I guess you're tired of your life huh?" the muscular man shouted angrily.

"Heh…a stupid muscle head like you, I can beat anytime only with one hand." Alan chuckled.

"You!!!" the muscular man wanted to make a move toward Alan.

The commotion caused by Alan and the muscular man had won every attention in the guild.

"Look there's a kid who wants to die early. He made Gregor angry." A guild member said.

"Hehe. That kid is a real man." Another member commented.

Gregor ignored all the members, "You got guts kid, but you show your guts to the wrong man." Gregor said.

"This will teach you a lesson!" Gregor jumped toward Alan to punch him in the face.

Alan tilted his upper body sideways and Gregor's punch missed Alan's face. After the punch passed through, without warning, Alan punched Gregor's stomach in front of him with his right hand.

"BOOM!" Gregor's body flew away and crashed the bar in the guild.

"Argh…" Gregor grunted in pain.

"A man? I don't think you're worthy enough to be called one though…" Alan said calmly.

Alan walked slowly towards Gregor. Gregor was stupefied, for every step that Alan took, Gregor felt more and more terrified than before.

After Alan arrived in front of Gregor, he leaned forward and looked at Gregor that was on the ground in the eyes before he said, "You got guts kid, but you show it to the wrong man. Ironic is it? Be grateful that you're still alive." Alan resaid what Gregor said to him just now.

Afterward, Alan walked away leaving Gregor that was still in a trance. After a while, Gregor woke up from the state, he stood up and bowed a 90 degree, and shouted, "Yes, Boss!"

Although Alan was quite far away already, he heard the shout and he shook his head, "Who's your boss?" he said quietly.

Alan ignored all the gazes toward him and straight away walked to the reception.

"I would like to register as a member of the guild," Alan said.

"Y…Yes, Sir!" the female receptionist replied nervously.

If the commotion just now did not happen, she would also laugh like how Gregor did but now, the situation was reversed. No one dared to take this kid in front of them lightly.

"Sir, I need your Identification card to complete the registration," she said carefully.

Alan took out his identification card and gave it to the receptionist. "Here you go."

The female receptionist took the card quickly without looking at it and immediately swiped the card at the registration machine. Once the machine scanned the card, Alan's information was shown on the screen.

"Your registration was successful, Mr…" the female receptionist then looked at the screen before she was super shocked. "Snow??!!" she inwardly screamed.

"M…Mr…Alan Snow…" the female receptionist was very nervous. In front of her is the infamous Snow Family's young master, Alan Snow!

"I thought Alan Snow is crazy? I guess it is a rumor!" The female receptionist thought to herself.

Except for the Snow family members, only a few people know that Alan Snow became crazy. Others heard the news only as rumors.

"Thank you." Alan smiled. He took back his identification card at went back to the mission board.

"Old Cave dungeon huh? Where is this dungeon?" Alan tried to find the dungeon location on the mission board.

Suddenly, a girl's voice rang out beside Alan, "You want to go to Old Cave?"

She was looking at the mission board too.

Alan turned to look at this girl, he was surprised. In his memory of previous Alan, he knows this girl. She was one of his closest childhood friends, Tracy Loot!
