School

Getting off the bus James and I began to walk to math class. Neither of us really like math. Our teacher always gives us too much homework and neither of us know how to do it. We got to our seats and waited for class to begin. We always get there early because

Ms. Alice is not patient. She can be scary depending on her mood. Once everyone sat down, Ms. Alice began teaching.

She looked at the class with a paper in hand, "Before we begin class, there have been recent events that lead us to believe you students are being threatened." Ms. Alice looked at me giving me chills. She continued, "Therefore we will have teachers escort you to your bus after school. We will also be on the bus in the morning to make sure every student is on the bus. There will be no skipping classes and no leaving the school during lunch."

Students looked at each other with concern and fear. What dangers threaten the school? Math class ended by the ring of the bell and we all walked to our next class. James doesn't have science with me so I walked to class alone wondering if the light and dark from this morning had something to do with what

Ms. Alice said. But if what I saw was real, then what kind of danger are we in? Why couldn't James see what I saw?

Science ended and I walked to lunch. I had this feeling something bad was about to happen but I wasn't sure what. I continued walking to the lunch room. James was already sitting at a table so I joined him. We both ate our lunches and thought of studying for our exam in History class. James and I have the same History class. I like History, I like learning of the past and how people would always explore the unknown. As a child I would explore often. Of course it was just Grandma's backyard, she would never let me go through the tall grass which lead to the forest. I've always wanted to explore the forest but Grandma says it's too dangerous.
