Where?

We got off the bus but there was nothing around for miles.

"Uh, William? Where are we exactly?" I asked.

"Home of course! Well not yet. Follow me!" He said with a smile.

I had a feeling something wasn't right. There was no one around and the bus was gone. Willam walked towards a streetlight and asked James and I to stand next to him and Ms. Alice.

"Alright Lily, I need you to hold James' hand because I can only take Alice. I want you to close your eyes and let go of the world around you. I want you to relax and feel the warmth of the light as it softly touches your skin. Remember the light you once created. Surround yourself with that light. Let go of the dark night."

I did as William instructed. I closed my eyes. I heard the beat of a heart. Then another and another. I could hear my heart beat too. William was right. I could hear them, but this time, I could tell they were free from hate.

"Lily, James, you can open your eyes." A soft voice came in the distance. I opened my eyes to see Ms. Alice smiling bright. The world around us had changed. The sky was brighter but not blinding. The clouds a soft white. The grass and trees were a beautiful green. It was a lot like Grandma's house, but there, I felt alive. The birds in the sky looked like flames through the wind. Their fire wings guided them as they soared above us. It was magical. It felt like the dream I had always wanted to dream.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"We are in the Kingdom of Light. Before Alice, mother and I moved closer to the Palace, we stayed here. It's not much, but it's a shelter." Willam walked us to the front door. The house looked like any normal house but the inside was colorful.

"Ms. Alice, I've been meaning to ask about the legend. Is there more to it?" I questioned.

Ms. Alice looked to William and he nodded.
