Dinner

Three days went by and they never let me leave the room. They did bring me food and water, but not being able to leave the room made escaping this dark place even harder. I was beginning to lose hope.

"Golden bow, the King wishes for you to eat dinner with him tonight." The guard said.

I didn't answer. Dinner with the King could be my escape. I just have to be careful. These past three days, I have practiced with the golden bow and the arrow of light, giving me a better chance of escape.

The day flew by and dinner came. Someone came to get me and we walked in to see the King sitting at a table of food. I sat down as far away as I could.

"You must be hungry. Go ahead, eat." He said.

I didn't want to eat. I was hungry, but I didn't trust the King. He ate and I sat there in silence, thinking of a way out of here. I need light to travel to the Kingdom of Light so I can't just transport to James, William, and Ms. Alice.

"Why make such a face?" The King asked. "Are you planning something?"

I quickly looked up. "N-no sir! I was just thinking about when we will attack the Sky Kingdom and the Ocean Kingdom?"

His smile grew. "I see that you are excited. We will attack when the darkest night consumes the light. We will start with the Sky Kingdom."

The darkest night? I had to warn them before it was too late. I had to get out of this place.

I yawned. "Sir, if you don't mind, I'm quite tired and I would like to go to bed."

"Alright. Tomorrow we will further discuss the attack on the Sky Kingdom."

I nodded. He had a guard take me to my room. There were four guards. Now was my chance. I brought a basket of grapes and dropped them as we were walking up the stairs.

"Oh no! Sorry guard sir, I'll get these cleaned up right away." I said.

The guards backed up and watched as I cleaned the grapes. A chance, finally. I stood up, turned around and ran. I could hear the guards behind me yelling. I didn't look back, I kept running. I made it to the front door of the palace. When I opened the door, ten guards stood in front of me. I wasn't going to give up though. I summoned the bow and hit four of them, enough for a small opening. I ran through and made it outside the palace walls. I ran into the forest.

"She went this way!" I heard voices yell.

The sound of yelling faded into silence. I wasn't sure if they were completely gone or not, so I continued walking through the forest. I found wood and started a fire. I wasn't sure if it would work, but I had to try.

I closed my eyes and imagined the Kingdom of Light. The beautiful birds I saw before. James, I wanted to see James again. I opened my eyes to see bright walls. I didn't know where I was, but I did know I wasn't in the Kingdom of Darkness anymore. I was safe.
