The guard and I made it to the castle room where the survivors stayed.
"Here we are." The guard said.
"Is it alright if I wait for a second?" I asked.
"Take your time. I will wait here for you, and once you are done I will guide you to your room."
"Thank you sir." I said.
I opened the doors and walked inside. The room was enormous with little kids running around. Everyone around me was happy. I walked in a little farther and the loud room became silent.
I could hear people whisper around the room, "Is she the one?" "Are we in danger again?" "She's still just a kid."
I stood there unable to move, I didn't know what to say. The room was silent, all eyes faced me.
"Hello miss." A little boy said as he tugged on my shirt. "Can you play with us?"
The other children, hiding behind their parents, walked over to me. "Yeah! Let's play tag!"
"A-alright." I smiled.
The room once filled with whispers went back to normal. The adults were talking, kids were laughing, and here I was, laughing and smiling for the first time in weeks.
After playing all day, I decided to call it a night. The children wouldn't let me leave, but I was tired after a long day. As the guard had said before, he was waiting outside for me. He walked me to my room and said he had to go.
The room was incredible. I could see the people of the Sky Kingdom roam around the streets with smiles on their faces. Looking down to see this Kingdom, I knew I would not let it be destroyed.
The sun set and I walked over to the sky blue bed, it was soft and comfortable. My eyes closed and I heard a scream "Mother! No! Mother!" The little voice screamed. My dream was dark and I couldn't see anything. I could only hear the scream of a little child. I woke up. That night, I didn't get any sleep.
