The Sky Kingdom

I could see the castle from where I was. I began to walk towards the castle but I noticed the people around me looking at me. I just kept my eyes forward and continued to walk.

The castle doors where huge with a paining of a sunrise. I turned around to see everyone watch me as the guards opened the door. It was as if they recognized me.

"Follow me." A guard said.

I walked behind him through a castle full of creatures. Butterflies filled the air and birds too. There were little hummingbirds above the flowers. The walls around me were glass with openings where the wind flowed in.

The guard stopped. "You stay here, I'll let you know when you can come in."

Birds were singing throughout the castle halls of glass. One little bird came to me, and I reached out my hand. The little bird gently landed on my finger and began to sing, the beautiful song filled the castle.

"You may come in now." The guard said.

The bird flew off and I walked inside. The Queen of the Sky Kingdom had a long white dress. Her black hair was braided and she had magnificent wings.

"So you're the golden bow." Her voice was soft and kind.

"Yes." I hesitated.

Her eyes brightened and she walked closer to me. "Welcome to the Sky Kingdom! It's so very nice to meet you. You're a lot younger than I thought you would be but I feel your strength." She paused for a second, "May I ask though, why are you here?"

"I. The King, he's coming. I escaped the Kingdom of Darkness and came here to warn you."

The Queen's eyes, once bright, saddened. "The Kingdom of Light, I heard what happened. Many people came here to hide from them. They have been safe for so long but now he's coming."

"Here? They're here?! My mother and father? Did they make it? Are they here too?" I asked.

"I'm sorry, but your mother and father were the ones who brought everyone here. They fought to save the people, and at some point, your parents never came back. I'm sorry."

I felt a tear roll down my cheek. "I-its alright. May I meet them? The survivors?"

"Yes of course." The Queen said.

The guard said he would take me there and we began to walk away.

"The King, he wasn't always this way you know. The four Kingdoms used to be at peace with each other until something happened. War broke out and no one knew how to stop it." The Queen turned around and walked away.
