A New Dream

Days passed and I was happy again. James was with me. In the mornings, we would walk through the village and to a small tree in a field. Every morning, James and I would watch the sunrise. In the afternoons we would dance with the children and listen to the elders stories of the Kingdom of Light. Their stories spoke of the first golden bow, how she brought life to the Sky Kingdom and the Ocean Kingdom.

The children were always laughing and running through the halls of the castle, but peace throughout the Sky Kingdom didn't last long.

After weeks of having no dreams, another dream appeared. This one was different than all of my other dreams. There was destruction everywhere, houses burned to the ground, screams from everywhere around me! Animals ran past me and there infront of me, a shadow. Through all the screaming, I could hear one man laughing. I moved closer to the shadow, my dream became darker and darker.

"Do you understand now?" The shadow said.

I quickly sat up breathing heavily. My heart was beating fast and I couldn't catch my breath.

"Lily, are you alright?" James yelled running towards me. "I heard screaming are you alright?"

"James!" My eyes filled with tears and I couldn't move.

"Hey it's alright, I'm here Lily, I'm here now." He sat next to me and wrapped his arms around me. "You're shaking Lily, what happened?"

I didn't say anything, we just sat there.

The next morning I woke up and James was still beside me. I got up trying to not wake him up, and walked down to the garden. The Queen was standing next to the blue flower with a golden stem.

"Good morning golden bow." The Queen said.

"Good morning."

"Did you have trouble sleeping last night? The guards said you had a nightmare."

"Yes, I had a nightmare. I actually wanted to ask you about it, if you don't mind?"

"I don't mind." She said.

"Well, there was a shadow. Fire was everywhere and everyone was running. Someone was laughing and the shadow asked me a question." I said. "I haven't had dreams for weeks now, why would one suddenly appear?"

The Queen turned towards me, "A shadow? Do you know where this happened?"

"N-no I don't. I couldn't see through the smoke." I looked down to the ground.

"We might have to be careful from now on. I have a feeling the Kingdom of Darkness will strike soon." The Queen walked away.

I sat next to the flower. The golden stem glowed brighter.
