Don’t Let Anyone Else Know

"Okay. It's all bandaged up, now. Don't use your right hand for a few days," Shen said.

"Thanks," said Lin.

"No problem."

Shen put the first aid kit back and walked past the living room with Lin, holding hands.

She was feeling a little tired, and she accidentally tripped on the rug. Luckily, she as holding hands with Shen because she was about to fall.

Suddenly, she heard a faint noise. People were yelling continuously. Lin looked up and saw her uncle staring straight at her. He was bundled up in a bunch of blankets and the faint noises were the sounds coming from his earphones.

Shen noticed why she stopped walking at stared at the person across the coffee table.

Tang Jin paused the Korean drama and said calmly, "So, what's your guys' relationship? Boyfriend and girlfriend? Fiancée? Husband and wife? Friends with benefits? Which one?"

Lin was still shocked that her uncle was there and he found out.

Shen stayed calm and said, "Boyfriend and girlfriend, Uncle Jin."

He continued, "I would like to ask you to keep this a secret, please."

"Why do you guys want to keep it a secret? I'm 100% sure that our families will accept it. Didn't you guys notice the hints your parents were giving out during the family meeting? They WANT you guys to get married."

"I'm afraid our relationship isn't stable right now. We don't want to get our parents happy, and then break their hearts after our relationship takes a bad turn and ends," Shen explained to Tang Jin.

"That's understandable. Well, I'll respect your wishes and I'll keep it a secret. However, if someone finds out your relationship and asks me about it, I will not hesitate to tell them the truth. That means that you two have to be more careful and make sure that nobody else finds out."

"Okay. Thank you, Uncle Jin. You just need to wait until Saturday to keep the secret because that's when we decide whether or not we will continue our relationship," Tang Lin said.

He looked confused, so Shen said, "We made a deal. Lin and I have to date for a week. I have to try to convince her to marry me by Saturday. When this week ends, Tang Lin will decide if she's wants to continue dating, marry me, or break up with me."

"Is this a one-sided love? Shen, do you like her?"

"Yes," he responded.

"Wow. That's kind of nerve-wrecking, Shen. You have to wait seven days to hear if your crush likes you or not. If not, you'll never be able to have a chance again. And you have to convince her, too!"

Tang Jin pitied him because he knew that his niece had a stone heart. However, he saw their actions for the past two days and they seemed pretty intimate. Shen might have a chance.

"Well, I won't hold you guys down. Go upstairs and do whatever. Don't mind me," Tang Jin said.

"Okay. Thank you for keeping the secret for us," Shen said.

They went to the room and sat down on the bed.

"He knows."

"It's okay. As long as nobody else finds out, we're fine," Shen comforted.

They got back in their positions next to each other and Shen played with Lin's hand as she started to drift off.

"Hey. Stay here until I fall asleep," Lin said.

"Okay."

Lin leaned her head on his shoulder and held Shen's hand with both hands.

When he saw that she was asleep, he adjusted her into a sleeping position and put the blanket over her. Shen grabbed his business suit and kissed her the forehead.

"I love you, Lin. Please accept me," he said as he turned the light off and left.

Her eyes slowly opened. Her heart was beating from what her boyfriend just said to her and when he kissed her.

"Bye, Uncle. I'm leaving now," Shen said to Tang Jin.

"Okay. Drive safely."

The next morning, Lin got a phone call while she was sleeping. She woke up from the sound.

"Hello?"

"Darling, are you still in bed? It's already twelve o'clock."

"I slept late last night. You should know, you were with me at two o'clock in the morning."

Shen chuckled and said, "Get up! Time to wash up! I'm picking you up in twenty minutes! Get ready!"

"Twenty minutes? I can't get ready in that amount of time!"

"Too bad. Just don't put on make up and dress up. I'm almost there."

"Fine!" Tang Lin hung up and went to the restroom to wash up. Then, she quickly dressed up. She didn't know where they were going and she assumed that they were going on a date, so she put on a dress.

When she finished, she heard the door bell ring and she grabbed her purse. She ran down the stairs and opened the door. The man at the door was stunning.

Shen looked at her glowing face and said, "You look better without make up."

"Well, thanks. Let's go," Lin said awkwardly.

They got into the car and Shen drove off.

"I have bad news. I won't be able to hang out with you for three days. I'm going on a business trip and I got called this morning. We're going to the airport right now. You going to send me off," Shen said sadly as he held her hand.

"So, I won't see you until Friday?"

"Sadly, yes. I know you will miss my handsome face in the three days that I will be gone. So, I will FaceTime you everyday, when I'm not in my meetings. Feel free to take a few photos of me before I leave just in case you miss me while I'm working."

Tang Lin sighed, "Why did I have to attract a narcissist of all types of people?"

"Dear, you attract all kinds of men. I'm even leaving a bodyguard here because I'm afraid that someone will snatch you while I'm gone."

"A bodyguard? You going to have someone follow me and report to you 24/7? Oh, by the way, in our dating period, you CANNOT look at or date other women. You also cannot be near them and you can't talk to them like how you talk to me."

"Darling, are you afraid that I might create more love rivals for you? Don't worry. The only women that I'm ever close to are you, my mom, and my grandma. I will never be with any woman but you. Satisfied with my answer?"

"Yes. I just hope that you're telling the truth. Wait, do you have the ring? That'll show them that you're taken already," Lin said.

"Yeah. I have it and I'll wear it all the time. You have to wear it, too."

"I know."

They arrived at the airport and Shen took his luggage out of the trunk. They walked into the bustling crowd and tried to find where Shen needed to board the plane. Once they found it, Shen stopped walking and he faced towards Lin.

"Give your phone."

Lin gave him her phone and she saw that he was taking selfies of himself. He went behind her and took a bunch of selfies with her. He then sent all of the pictures of them to his phone. After that, he took out his phone and took pictures of her face.

"There. Now we both have pictures of each other. Put this as your wallpaper."

He showed his screen and it was one of their pictures that they took together.

She easily complied with his request and an announcement came on, telling all passengers to board the plane.

"Okay. I have to leave now."

He pulled her towards him and hugged her tightly.

"I love you," Lu Shen said as he kissed her forehead and stared into her eyes.

Suddenly, Lin wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him deeply on the lips.

He was shocked for a second, and then he returned the kiss. They pulled away from each other when another announcement for passengers to board the plane went on.

"Call me everyday. Okay?" Tang Lin demanded.

"Okay," he smiled at her and walked to the door with his luggage. The employee checked his ticket and passport and allowed him to go on the plane.
