A sumptuous breakfast. However, a new bomb blast caused to tremor the ground. They were
stuck up while having their meal.
" Oh my...I thought we'll be given some break out of the war. Haven't sleep in a while." Albrecht
whispered.
" Hmm...that's something odd. If that comes too quick to blow this early and had a late shut-off last
night, maybe it's not the same troop they fought with. Who do you think are they, George?" The
captain's curiosity.
" It's another troop, yeah. They're maybe the backup from the neighbouring battalion, aside from that
of officer Oliver. But not sure, not really that sure, huh. Still trying to figure out next time when we can
get out. " George explained.
Boom! Boom!
Another bomb slots of the first hour and they all tried to finish the food and back to prepare themselves.
When George and Magee were talking in their space, George arranged her hair and looked at her too
straight.
" I'm afraid if this is the most awaited bloody part of the war that I fear you might face. If you'll ask me,
I'm gonna hide you elsewhere so that you can't see how the peak goes morbid at any rate. How would I
tell you if what you'll gonna do instead, huh, but you need to live with it as of this time." George sighed
and bowed his head.
" Yes. I got it. I'm always afraid of war but I think I'm going to help and protect my family too. I have to see
ourselves survive, altogether." Magee smiled while hearing another bomb blast from nearby.
" Thank you, Mag. I...know you are stronger than any other women, but I still fear. I don't know why."
" Shh...I...I will try to fight too, allow me to engage side by side with you." She exclaimed.
" But this isn't just a dozen of enemies to attack to; there's a lot of them, let's say a hundred or more at a time.
Our troop is so weak this time, it's very complicated out there if you join with us. "
" There's no reason to hide inside. We are at war. I can assure I will try my best, I'm too skinny to run
and..." Magee uttered but George covered her mouth, preventing her not to talk any further and
embraced her so tight.
" Just hide here, please. That's an order." George said as
she silently sobbed and laid her face on his shoulder.
" I'll try." She whispered as he wiped her tears.
" Make it not. I'll be more worried of you than this war."
" But I'll try to hide, I said I'll try." The she sobbed again and again while he embraced her even more.
Everyone has been all set outside, waiting for the lieutenant to get out. When Magee just tried to calm
down, Albrecht moved closer and gave her a bamboo mug of water, she was a little pacified.
" Mag, just stay here, okay? I can't watch over you this time, I will join the others. We'll get out and
team up with station three and four, you stay here Lil Sis, Mayumi and dad Edward needs you around."
Albrecht drew closer and nestled his hand on her hair.
" Kuya... [big brother]. She huskily spoke and closed her eyes while covered the blanket on her face as
she was tearful again.
It was enough and everyone stepped out of station one. The two women were standing behind the
waterfalls and watched them go. Meanwhile, captain Edward called them up and spoke.
" What are you both thinking right now?"
" Nothing, but just so anxious seeing them go, dad." Magee sadly replied.
" Hmm, I told them they'll get dumped by those facilities and weapons used by the enemies. It could
have been better if we go side by side with officer Orlando's team, but George and I got confused of the modus happening, I don't know why. Deception, yes, but for what?" The captain angrily uttered.
Broom! Broom! There seems a car above station one and the three were a little bit nervous. The
captain then hurriedly ordered Magee and Mayumi to pack up and ready themselves to further situations.
Mayumi was already sweating while Magee handed to her a handgun.
" Mag, I'm scared, I musn't. But what are we going to do right now?" Mayumi asked.
" We'll wait for dad's order, we might be leaving this place anytime soon."
The captain drew closer to them with a very weak leg and breathless. Series of canon blasts coming
from the surface of station one and every time there's such a monstrous noise, the tremor in the place
worsened. Some stones from the wall fell and ashes from dust flashes in the air inside. They were
covering their heads when it goes on and on.
" Ladies...I mean. Ah...I want you to get down and listen. I want you to understand. I am injured, frail and old, so I decided to stay. You both has to leave."
" Dad! No! Why are you talking that way? We'll not gonna leave you, let's get out together." Magee
insisted.
" I agree, we all have to get out together, Dad. I can aid side by side with you. " Mayumi seconded.
"That sound above us is a threat for our lives. I felt they'll use the place for their stopover, they will rest
and sleep out there. Some of them might climb the tree and could discover the hole going down, who
knows, it could happen today. See, this could be a bad day for us. So I will not let it happen, you two can
still run and escape and better do that now before they can kill us unmercifully."
" But dad, what if before we do that, I will climb and spy up there first. I can use the secret exit stairs
right now and will try to listen to their conversations, I know their language and if possible; could peep
and eavesdrop a little if what they're doing out there." It was enough when Magee climbed the stairs
going up to the mabolo tree.
" Mag! Mag! Stop it! It's not safe...Mag!" Edward worriedly called his daughter but felt in dismay
because she ran immediately.
The captain was left pressing his head and told Mayumi to continue packing up and just bring the lighter
things she can grab.
" Mayumi, wherever you both can reach in today's escape, kindly poke a counsel to her. She needs a
second thought - always." Edward smiled and patiently waited for her daughter to return.
