"What are they talking about?" Baldur whispered.
" Shh...don't ever move bro, and just be careful with your boots and it might slip away, lucky we're here below of that berry tree, its roots are shielding us down here."
" They're throwing the peeled- off berry pulps and seeds, too bad! and if not with the vines above us...we're too visible to them." Baldur was sweating as he whispered.
" Yeah, but...can you hear a boy's voice, there seems to be with the soldiers."
" Sounds like a boy...who that one be?"
" One of their sons, maybe." George replied.
" Was it....still remember him?" Baldur uttered.
" Oh...don't tell me..he's..." George stared at him.
" Possible."
" Hmm..let's be careful, we do not know what comes next." George whispered.
Minutes later, the soldiers above them vacated the cliff and they continued to move heading towards the frontage of the cave where their comrades were in.
But a sudden momentum of fear came across on their delicate trek.
' Whew! it's so slippery! Thanks for grabbing my knapsack and threw me back on this creek! hah...it was....it was incredible, huh! I thought it's gonna be my last. Thank God! But I hate seeing the disturbed birds that flew crazily. Hope no one sees them. Baldur whispered and winked an eye to the lieutenant.
" Thank God I brought you back, but I perspire a little, haha. Anyway, it's going to be more exciting ahead,. c'mon...it seems there's no one's above any longer. It's giving us a great chance to continue movin...hurry up, bro." George uttered.
It's cloudy and drizzling so it's helping them to be a little invisible to the enemies. However, it's a bit risky, it's getting more slippery and ripples from trees above them started to outpour. Meanwhile, after minutes of hanging on by the cliff, they both had reached the adjacent part fronting the cave. When Baldur peep from the cover crops and weeds, looking at the frontal part of the cave which has a lot of logs, trees and vines, he right away returned from hiding and made a hand sign to George if how critical the way to the cave was. When he gets back to where George had been, he whispered.
" Where's the people of the granite house are going? we can't penetrate to go across the road to fetch our comrades, the enemies are all lining up, right in front.of the cave. Huh! this isn't any good at all.
Boom! boom!
A sound of bomb from the sea infront of the granite mountain.
" That's the sound that you wished for. Then...we're on the run in a while, haha!" George tightened the grasp on his rifle while smiling to Baldur.
Then they have heard the echoing sound of men running and dozing the air. George then sneaked and out of a papaya halo, dried and wild branch bended on them like a telescope, he could clearly see someone familiar.
"What is...they're...following that...boy. He looks like Damian!" George has blurted in amazement.
"What? Oh my...this could be a bad news to Albrecht and someone up there would be happy." Baldur smiled.
" Yeah, haha! so now look! he brought them all inside."
Boom! boom!
" Oh my...we only agreed for two blasts, why it's getting four all in all! Holy ghost! "George whispered.
" I noticed too. Just wondering of the agreed blasts that turned out four. Why..." Baldur sighed while peeping at the halo dead trunk.
" Come! it's...Damian, he's getting back.
George quickly drew nearer and smiled.
" He's all alone looking somewhere down in here. However, he's...just too cautious and reflecting. Whoah! he attempted to run in an opposite direction, that's going north. He's pointing something. The soldiers followed him too." Baldur uttered.
" What is that smart boy doing? C'mon, while he's with them, let's go roll to our mission. Thank God! there they're gone, Damian successfully sent them out in the woods, don't know why either. So let's go!"
While George and Baldur quickly got out and stooping straight across the pathway, they tightly held their rifles while rushed on the foggy eerie place. It was a great timing to hide behind the bushy area, fronting the cave of their comrades. It was so breathtaking for them to lean on a big tree when a group of soldiers were marching going out towards east while ignoring the blasts from the sea.
" Hah! almost...but I fell my knapsack 10 meters away from here, our records..." Baldur sighed with all his sweats, dropping like sands.
" Brother...wait a minute, I'll go back for it and would tug it as I run back to the cliff. You then shall proceed to the cave and prepare them all. There's but a few among the soldiers who might follow me going there...but our records from the log would be safer, I mean it."
" Though...there's a thin chance, they're...armed George." Baldur shook his head.
" Don't worry bro, I'll be fine. I need to do it to divert their attention so you can get inside the cave safely. They're waiting for us right now, come on, I'll be driving out those boys and get rid of you haha. Baldur, let's not waste our time. I'll go roll now." The lieutenant smiled while arranging his hat.
"Oh my...okay...I'm ready too."
With all their composure, George ran as fast as he can and grabbed the bag containing the logbook. On the other hand, Baldur quickly proceeded to the cave's secret doorway and called anyone's name from the inside.
" Dionesio! Elmar! Alexandra! C'mon...please open."
Boom! boom!
" Another blast from the shoreline, oh my goodness! what is that all about..." Baldur's sweat roll all.over his face and silently prayed while clasping his rifle..No one responded. He called the insiders twice but to no avail. Another bomb blasted in the shore and the ground shook along with the leaves hissing everywhere.
"Where did they go?" Baldur was too worried.
