Sure it wasn't attempted murder?

When Frozen Milk woke up, he felt like he was having a deja-vu. A rather nice one. The soft and plum feeling under his head made him feel comfortable and he wanted to be wrapped up in a blanket, however, he had to get behind this surprise.

"What am I doing in your lap again?"

"Your disciple hit your neck a bit too hard and broke a bone. I'm currently healing it."

Silence.

Frozen Milk had to process what he was told. This humongous drop of information... and then-

FUCK! You ungrateful bastard! You shameless protagonist! First, you ignore me and then you fucking try to murder me? Huh? HUH? HUHHH?

Frozen Milk's eyeballs were about to roll out. All the veins on his forehead bulged and then finally popped. It was a disgraceful sight like an octopus with severed tentacles running around, desperately trying to save its last dignity.

"I'm... sorry," Prota wore his all-familiar puppy face and finally properly looked at Frozen Milk.

"You..." Frozen Milk sighed and wanted to turn his head but Holbe stopped him.

"You'll die."

Frozen Milk gulped and froze on the spot. He couldn't move! He didn't dare to move! Curse this!

He knew his protagonist probably, probably, didn't mean it but this was way too much!

"Whatever," however he forgave him yet Prota, on the other hand, thought Frozen Milk now didn't want to have anything to do with him even more.

"Where are we?" Frozen Milk couldn't look at anything but Holbe's face, the trees and the dark sky.

"Somewhere in the jungle."

Frozen Milk was tired of giving reactions so he just shut up and shut his mind too.

After a while, he said, "I might know someplace to stay but let's just spend the night here. We should take turns to keep watch."

"I'll do it," Prota moved away from them and sat at a tree further away.

"Where's Glimpse Water?"

"He's scouting the area."

Frozen Milk wanted to nod but felt extreme pain in his neck. Startled, he immediately remained to live as a stone again.

Please let this night be gone quick. Please let this night be gone quick.

"How long do you need to heal me?"

"Soon, you should rest first."

Frozen Milk didn't need to be told twice and drifted off to sleep.

Holbe watched this messenger of the Lord while she poured her powers into him. Just like a day ago when she healed him before, she felt this uncanny aura in him. It was dark and alien.

It definitely didn't belong to him but it was already gone and the traces left inside of him weren't enough to figure anything out.

Holbe froze and narrowed her eyes. She knew something wasn't right with Frozen Milk. The first time she met him, he was full of light. But now the light in his body was constantly accompanied by a dark thin string like a hair that floated around in his body.

Holbe was able to see the constitution of a human. If they were full of bright light they were normal but if they were red inside, it meant they went corrupt and evil. Yet this was the first time, she saw pure black mixed in someone's aura.

However, she didn't know how to break it to him as she wasn't able to grasp this black string. If it was something toxic, she would've been able to pull it out of a human just like the corrupt and evil red and purify them, thus she was 'holy'.

But even though Holbe grabbed the black thread surrounding Frozen Milk just like now, it only disappeared, she couldn't trace or investigate it at all. If she didn't pay attention, the black thread reappeared and tied itself around his organs, his heart and his brain.

If she didn't do anything, Frozen Milk's face distorted in pain and it'd make him suffer. So, she instantly cut the strings.

If she wasn't here, she was sure he would die. She had to be with him at all times and rid this cursed thing from him.

Sooner or later it'd destroy him.

She took a deep breath, she wasn't sure if she was able to stop it or if she was skilled enough to do it.

But the thing that worried her the most was the dark thought that crept into her mind. Why should she exhaust herself to save a stranger like him?
