Legends

I've likely forgotten some and didn't want to reread five chapters to remember who they were, if you have a problem comment and I'll add the beast inc otherwise I'll probably pull it out sometime in the future.

The legends are beasts of lore that have overwhelming power.

Tiger-race

The tiger has always been the opponent of the dragon and eagle, as they both are the closest legends aside from its own kind. the dragon usually doesn't turn down a fight, but the eagle rarely gets involved. The tigers are the single strongest race on the plains, and that's including a species of legendary owl.

The dragon-race

this is actually a species, however the dragon is a very old race, and so they don't have much contact with the younger races.

The phoenix- race

this is not a true Phoenix, true phoenixs cannot die, these can. If you spread their ashes over water or pierce the body with a water based magic spell, they will be doused.

The dragon turtle- singular

These few beings were once a race but time and war have dragged their full numbers down to three, and they are all young by the true age of dragon turtles in this book. (They are about one thousand years old, and they can live to a max of fifty thousand.)

The desert snake- race(?)

There are multiple of these beings, however they aren't all snakes. The desert legends are relatively weak beings, however they also gather together multiple times a year and rush to each other's defense against outer enemies.

The scorpion was supposed to be one but it was hurt when the legend beast moved around the desert. That's the reason it's poison worked on Nicta. This isn't a useful fact for anyone but Nicta, who tends to think things through, trying to connect the dots.

The Ice Bear- Race/single

The ice bear race isn't very rare, however almost no beings makes it to the power of the legend bear of the north, few of any race protect humans.

The eagle- single

I haven't talked about her yet but there is actually one known. The humans call her Drein. She doesn't normally appear before humans which is why she's never talked about, but she'll be coming up in the story soon.

Owl- race

Nothing is know about these owls as they rarely appear before humans, however they've been used by humans for centuries to represent wisdom.

To tell the truth. This eagle, the dragon turtle, the snake, and the bear are the only known legends that speak a human language.
