Edith

I wait in the waiting room until they let us in. The doctor taking care of Josh passes by and Aubrielle and I spring up from out of our chairs and ask her "Is he going to be ok?"

"He will be fine. He just got some surgery and will recover in 2-6 weeks from the wound. He's lucky he only got it in his leg, but what we're you guys doing in the woods?" She asks.

"Josh, Aubrielle and I wanted to hang out for a picnic, but us being silly we forgot to bring food cause we thought Josh would bring it while Josh thought I was bringing the food." I explain.

"Be careful next time. You can come in now." The doctor mentions. She looks about my moms age, brown hair tied in a bun. She seems nice.

"Thank you, Doctor.Ray" Aubrielle thanks. "Why do you think I was the murderer?" Aubrielle stands still, cocking her head.

"Everything was fine and normal til you came, plus, if you hated Trent why not kill him?" I mumble, looking down and fiddling with my shirt that now has a few bloodstains from helping Josh.

We walk inside and it hurts to see him like this, knowing that I held that gun and shot it to his leg. A tear rolls down my cheek.

"No, don't cry... Come here" Josh says, holding his arms out. I climb onto the bed as he hugs me. "This was never your fault, the gun went off by itself." He whispers, kissing my head.

"Are you feeling ok, Josh?" Aubrielle asks.

"Yea, I still feel a bit unconscious." He responds. He holds me tighter and inhales.

"I'll leave you two alone and get an Uber." Aubrielle says.

"Ok, bye." I say quietly. "Is it ok if I just stay with you, be with you every time I'm free until you recover?" I ask, my voice breaking.

"Of course, I don't mind." He says. "If the killer isn't Aubrielle, I'm lost. Who could it be? The patterns don't make sense, each murder is a different weapon, the timing doesn't make sense-"

"I know you really want to solve this, but we aren't in a movie. We aren't some teens who solve murders every now and then chasing a pathological psycho around a little town." I explain.

"But doesnt feel like a movie? New girl comes, murders happen, the stereotypical group of different kinds take her in, so what's so different about this time and the movies?" He asks, making a good point.

"Plus the wrong accusations. And somehow, Miles was right. We each play a part straight out of different cliques." I mention. "This is going to be harder now. For me, at least. No one is going to be able to be my detective boyfriend at school, plus, you are starting to get there. Finding out who the murderer could be, that is." I look into his eyes. He meets with my eyes and kisses me.

"Will you have to be in crutches or a wheelchair when you get out?" I ask.

"No, but they said I should have physical therapy when I'm done." He mentions, looking at the TV which is currently playing How To Get Away With Murder. How ironic..

Aubrielle

"They are getting suspicious." I warn Miles while hanging in his room.

"Like how?" He asks.

"Well, Edith tried to shoot me, thinking I killed Trent and that girl Jemmy." I say, holding Miles' hand.

"You mean Jenny?"

"Whatever, you know what I mean."

I start to think what would happen to Miles if he got caught. He could be either executed or spend a lifetime in jail. "Can we stop murdering people for no reason..?" I ask.

"Why?" He asks.

"Miles, if you get caught in another murder, You will either die or spend your life in jail. I don't want to say goodbye to you." He squeezes my hand.

"I have a plan, just trust me with it, ok?" He asks. "There's just one more person I have to get rid of though..." He says.

"Who?" I ask.

"You'll see." He wraps an arm over my shoulder.
